  1. QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 12:25 AM) The Yankees have no pitching depth either, but they are mentioned? Damon, Jeter, ARod, Shefield, Giambi, Matsui, Cano... with Big Unit, Pavano bounch back year? Wright bounce back? Mussina. They're fine.
  2. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) By the way, anyone know what number Cintron will be wearing? E
  3. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 12:15 AM) That's not much of an argument for Infante. The only thing he's got going for him is he's young. But that ship sailed when they signed Polanco long-term. Inge is their best 3B offensively and defensively Polanco is their best 2B offensively and defensively Guillen is their best SS offensively and defensively. All of which spells lots of time on the pine for Infante. I am not comparing Inge to Infante. How is Inge better than Polanco at 3B? Range? Eh. Neither Inge or Infante are awesome at the plate. Where did Inge have his best year? As a UTL.
  4. I watched a few of the games. The MSU game was a downer, 3-0 lead in first, boo hahaha. Cornell/Wisky was awesome, goal was crazy. Watched some of the other games too. Looking forward to Frozen Four even though no CCHA team is in it.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 12:11 AM) I fully expect Francouer to suck this year and suck badly. We shall see.
  6. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 12:06 AM) Atlanta's bullpen sucks balls, too. They have a few too many raw position players. Putting them in the Top 10 is a stretch, actually. Hudson, Smoltz, Sosa, Thomson (assuming not dealt), & Ramierez. They have a solid core, I'd take the Mets over them, but the Mets do that every year. Renteria could have a turn around, Giles, Jones, Jones, Larouche, Francouer, McCann was good in playoffs. They're the Braves too. Leo Mazzone is gone though, if they get bullpen and stay healthy, they'll be fine.
  7. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 12:01 AM) With the Tigers staff, they need to score as much as possible. Inge has developed into a decent hitter since he moved from C. He's also one of the rangiest 3B in the game, which makes up for his errors. I don't know how you can make up for a .250 OBP like Infante posted last year. I think he should consult Timo for that one. .317 the year before. He can do it. I think the Tigers staff will be better than people give them credit for. Bonderman is a hurler, Kenny Rogers will have fun with the cameramen in the big D, Robertson and Maroth arn't terrible, and Verlander is kinda like BMac to us as we may get a prize, may not. I like Roman Colon too. Their pen, well their pen sucks. They have power too. Mags, IRod, Monroe, Thames, Shelton, Polanco, Guillen... not terrible, not great, but still.
  8. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) Most Tigers fans hated him but I guess they still have Jeremy Bonderman to show for the Jeff Weaver trade. Tiger fans love Bonderman too, he is a good one. Simple kid too, very easy to like.
  9. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) Polanco >>>>>>> Infante -- Both offensively and defensively. Plus why would you want to remove Inge from the line-up only to be replaced by Infante? I am still not sold on Inge everyday. I think he is better suited to the UTL roll. 23 errors at 3B, so it's not concerned at defense, Infante had 13 less errors. Inge is a career .238, Infante is a career .246. I think allowing Inge to move around would help him, as he played every position two years ago. It's not Polanco vs Infante, it's Polanco 3B/Infante 2B vs Polanco 2B/Inge 3B too.
  10. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) Tigers fans called him Karlos Pena. Kinda like Korey Patterson. If by Karlos Pena you mean giant piece of s***, then yes, they called him Karlos Pena.
  11. Of the pictures I have seen, I am a huge fan of the green seats. A cleaner, slicker look IMHO.
  12. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 11:38 PM) Other then a little more power, he doesn't do anything for us that Gload doesn't. He is a .243 career hitter. He does less for us IMHO.
  13. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 11:37 PM) This is all I could find... http://www.sportslogos.net/team.php?t=55 There is another one I used to have, where had logos and maybe jerseys, but I lost it a long time ago. I know one exists though.
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 11:36 PM) Jermaine Dye had a good 2 months last year where he was absolutely terrible, and ozzie didn't Pull him. Iguchi has even more time than that. Guaranteed. If he's below the Mendoza line at the AS Break, we'll talk. Different situation, as everyone sees Cintron as an adequate replacement. Ozuna is my favorite Sox, but yikes to him everyday. Gload, blah, Timo, blah, Borchard, no thanks, Anderson, ready or not we don't know. Don't even kid about Carl out there. EDIT: Forgot to say, I agree with you though.
  15. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 11:33 PM) I'm wondering why they cut Pena loose, he's a solid starting 1B on a number of teams. I wouldn't mind the Sox signing him and cutting Gload loose... I live in Michigan, and I am not too firmilar with any Tiger fans who like him. They have too many guys similar positions too. Granderson eventually needs to be allowed to play. Shelton took Pena's job last year. Polanco could (should) go to 3B and let Infante go back to 2B. Monroe in left still? Nook won the CF job last year. I am a big Marcus Thames fan. So more or less, too many pegs, not enough spaces. Pena has always seemed a headcase to me too.
  16. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) Not unless Gooch is hitting about .190. I could see it being like it was with Juan a few seasons ago... he just comes out and keeps hitting, forcing himself into the lineup. The thing with Tadahito is, he just does so much right. Even if he is not hitting, he helps the team. I have a hard time seeing Ozzie sit him for extended periods.
  17. QUOTE(PaleHose4Life35 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) I would like to see where the experts that didn't pick the Sox to make the playoffs have the Sox finishing in the Central this season. Ask Dimitri Young that question....
  18. QUOTE(G&T @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 11:23 PM) With an unbalanced schedule I think that's impossible without 2 teams losing a TON of games. Since I doubt either Detroit or KC will lose as many games as last year, this scenario is improbable. Detroit is a team that baffles me. With Mags healthy, Kenny Rogers, Polanco a whole year (assuming he keeps it up), Guillen healthy, Bonderman with a little less pressure, Jason Johnson gone... they could win a whole lot of games... yet at the same time, are Granderson, Verlander, and Zumaya (sp?, can't remember haha) ready, was Shelton a one time deal, Inge at 3B is still dumb to me. I don't know what to make of them. They could lose a whole lot of games too. I think they will jump the Twins for third personally.
  19. QUOTE(greg775 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 10:25 PM) I'm glad his name is Boone Logan instead of Logan Boone. I'm sick of all the Boones in the bigs. GO SOX! His name really reminds me of the guy from Lost.
  20. Boston College, Conneticut, Memphis, & Michigan State.
  21. Is the question... who gets to play in a game this year? Or who is Ozzie's first choice off the bench?
  22. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) These announcers are ridiculous. They just said Trannon could stay with Haluska. Haluska is a freaking sprinter. He isn't the greatest dribble and Trannon is a great athlete (I think he's also a TE on MSU's football team) but in a speed race he has no shot with Haluska. Ager just hit a huge 3 to cut it back to 5. 4.6 40.... he's a WR. (another place has him at a 4.5 40).
  23. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 11:49 PM) Dye is still the worst hitter of the three so I'd rather see him batting fifth, regardless of worrying about the righty/lefty order. I still think a 3-4-5 of Thome, Konerko, and Dye makes the most sense. I'd like Thome fourth regardless.
  24. I cannot wait to see how Jermaine comes out this season. If he is the guy from the playoffs or not. I liked him in the three-hole, and I always thought Kong was better suited in the fifth spot. Thome would break them up nicely either way, and I know Kong is our big bat, but I dunno.
