I like them!!! -
Everyone knew that...ie why Kearns had tried to learn 3B in the offseason.

Um, he doesn't have to beat Hunter, as it is just OF, not CF. Ichiro and Hunter are locks on name alone. Carlos Lee had no errors last year, he didn't win a GG. It isn't just on errors, it goes by highlight reel plays, and plays others wouldn't make. Konerko is terrible compared to some AL 1B. Rowand has a 2% chance.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 07:38 AM) What's the difference between that and the NASCAR haters doing the same thing.. ? It's not like he came in and said "the NHL sucks and you all that care about it are idiots..". I will go in the NHL ones sometimes and read it, then post that I could really careless about hockey. I feel I am entitled to my opinion on it.

There was a thread in the Futuresox section. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) Actually he is only so right... lots of Sox fans from the 70's call it Sox Park. That is what my mom calls it, and she has no idea it isn't named "Sox Park."

I see it being hung. He deserves to go to jail.

I read the thread over there. They didn't even know Feliz plays more than just the OF until about six posts deep. They couldn't believe we would be interested. Wow, all I can say is wow.

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) I always miss the uprisings, don't I? DAMN ORTHODONTIST!!! (By the way, the band brackets SUCK!!!!!) I don't think it was an uprising. I missed it too. I think it was just a poster disliked his/her thread being removed.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) I joined this year and I am fairly new to the board. People beat up on you in circumstances where it is somewhat warranted. How many threads have you started that lead to no real discussion? If you want to be a respectable poster on the board you have to go through the pains of being new, including getting ignored, having your opinion torn apart by stats and people not posting in your topics. I have a decent amount of posts, and I like to think I contribute in some way to certain topics, but I still get my ass handed to me 90 percent of the time. Its a part of being new to a community of crabby ass sox fans. I agree. People come on here and expect to be very respected when they have no earned the respect. When I first came, I read only, and seldom posted. After awhile I started to post alot. And I like to think I didn't make too many stupid posts. People have always made stupid posts and threads, and they have always been dealt with the same way since I have been here. You're actually a good example of a newer poster. I don't agree with all of your opinions to an extent, but you leave it at the baseball, I hate it when people use comebacks like "jackass" et al. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) Red Stripe commercials rock. So does the beer!

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) ENOUGH!!!! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, MODS, PLEASE PUT AN END TO THIS GARBAGE! The recent influx of stupidity has single-handedly ruined the Soxtalk expierence. I know you guys are doing the best you can, but boy-o-boy things are bad. I have felt that way for a while now. It was getting better, but I generally just read now.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) Huff would cost 2 much in terms of prospects I think for us, regardless of what you all think it is true that Willy Mo Pena is on the trading block because like said earlier the surplus of OF's they have and I wouldnt mind him(but with Dye turning things around might be pointless) I think are best option would be Randa which we could require right now, Mackowiack would be nice too but right now the pirates are playing good baseball and wont get rid of him until they are way way out of it. Pena would cost alot too. He is 23, cheap, and rake, and is under control of the Reds for atleast three more years, probably four.

Hill is killing the ball too, Hinske is easily expandable.

I love him making fun of the manager. Picking on him for wearing a pinky ring...classic.

QUOTE(OilCan @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) What about Joe Crede in a pinch? He already plays one hot corner anyway. In a pinch, throw Pablo at 3rd, Uribe at SS, Gooch @ 2nb and Crede @ 1b. DH would be Thomas. Or maybe the point is moot. I would have perfered Crede at 1B, but I think we need to leave him at 3B so he can get his bat figured out. It makes more sense than alot of the possible other options people have broughten up. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) I can think of at least one contender that should be interested in bat like Everett .... Atlanta. They are in desperate need of a hitter of Carl's quality and would probably overlook his defensive faults to add his stick. If the Braves don't have the matchups needed to help the Sox, a deal could always include a third team. Modesi and Jordan arn't the answers, the kids they brought up arn't the answer. Chipper Jones could be on the DL for awhile. I am sure they would love him. I cannot see getting anyone who could help us this year though, as they have two starting pitchers hurt, a terrible bullpen (interest in Vizcaino or Takatsu in addition? haha), their 3B is hurt, the SS and 2B are struggling, their catcher isn't having the same year...so I could see it not even being for AAA kids if we dealt with them.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) I know this isn't a realistic answer, but what is Nick Johnson's contract status? Is he signed for longer than this year? He'd look good in a Sox uniform. Why would a first place team trade one of their best, cheap players?
