  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 11:34 PM) By the previous logic (ie: citing GG that were won 5 years ago as evidence to a players capabilities defensively) Jim Edmonds, Ken Griffey Jr., Shawn Green and Steve Finley are all currently above average defenders. One more thing, if Darin Erstad starts a single game at DH next season then this was a terrible signing. What if he's hitting .340 when he DH's?
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 1, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) Yeah the Reggie Evans/Pierre Pierce jokes could be made, but I'm not touching that one. I'm fairly sure Evans and Pierce have touched plenty enough...
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) Good to hear from one of the non-golf fans here as well. Me too. I have no interest in golf, but you can't help but cheer for them after doing stuff like this.
  4. I stopped reading because I disagreed with a bunch. How do you take Zito before Webb and Verlander (especially with Verlander getting a lot of love). I know Zito has a Cy Young, but thats not what the draft was asking. Just seems silly to me.
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 02:51 AM) The Reds might have found another Felipe Lopez here. They've really got a vey nice lineup at the moment if that's the case, and they could afford to play Griffey at 1B and Freel at CF. Ken seems like he'd be too stubborn to move from CF. Plus, I'd want to get Dunn the hell out of the OF.
  6. Tis a sad day in East Lansing. Neitzel's goina have to score and goina have to score a lot now. I could really see him staying, as I don't think he's ready, and I think him being the big man here next year is tough to pass up. Heres to hoping he stays.
  7. QUOTE(Sam @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 10:27 PM) Makes it sound like they own his soul now... I was goina say... do they get to sleep with his girlfriend too?
  8. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 01:11 PM) The NHL should consider a second franchise in Chicago. Maybe that'll get some interest in hockey in the nation's 3rd-largest market No way. I imagine they'd force Whirtz out before they'd bring in a second team.
  9. The Austrailian Peter Moylan is on it right now; anyone else think DBAH0 is beating it to it right now?
  10. They'll all be too easy... but, 'The Silver Fox.'
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 11:26 AM) Is pitcher's choice a team thing or an established custom around the league? I'll join those in saying it's the first I knew that, I assumed the team had to notify the league in advance if they were making a uniform switch. I figured there was a schedule laid out at the start of the year since some of the uniforms corresponded with special events. Google search, Diamondbacks have the SP select. I am fairly sure a lot of pitchers around the league get to pick what uniform. I have heard this many times. To me, the black isn't so much of an alternate. We wear it so much, it kind of is part of the unis. Teams like the Red Sox with their red, now thats a rare alternate. The blacks are my fav fwiw.
  12. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Apr 13, 2006 -> 04:50 PM) Reminds me of Schoenweiss or however you spelled the name. Schoeneweis.
  13. It blows me away how I live not too far from Detroit, yet yesterday and todays games are not on tv.
  14. 1. Michigan State NCAA championship in wrestling. 2. Chicago White Sox WS title. 3. Michigan State NCAA championship basketball/football. 4. Chicago Bears Super Bowl title. 5. Michigan State NCAA championship hockey.
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 06:38 PM) Puh, what do you know about college wrestling? This one time, at band camp, there was a wrestler there... that's what!
  16. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 03:40 PM) It doesn't appear that is a problem at all. He got Iowa's best wrestlers to go to Virginia Tech over ISU and Iowa. The wrestlers who were at Iowa said there was only one guy who they were going to wrestle for next year. The wrestlers in state, and already in the program all want this guy to be the coach. Frankly that matters much more than your opinion of his personality. It is more-so who he has around him. There is no time away from wrestling for these kids. If he has guys around them who do have personality, then they're fine. One of the coaches here was the same "run through a brickwall" personality Brands is, and while he helps a ton, when you're having a bad day and tough practice, you don't need to be told to run through a brickwall, you tune it out and it makes it worse. Fighting with your girlfriend, while having two exams the next day, with a sore knee, cutting fifteen pounds... sometimes it gets to be a lot. I imagine Schwab and Hand are going to come with them, and I do not know how they are either. All I know, Brands would be my kind of coach, and it's because I truely love wrestling and it's fun to me.
  17. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) I'm watching "Wrestling in Iowa"....Brands doesn't come across with any personality at all. Haha, that's what J Robinson said in the quote I posted earlier. I have met both Brands, and they really don't seem to have any personality.
  18. I think this is something we just need to wait for. There are so many what ifs. What if the kid wrote the email cause he was pissed the stripper accused them and could cost them their season, but didn't mean anything by it. What if there was no rape? What if there was? What does her record look like, what does theirs? Rape is a big deal (I dated a girl who was raped when she was a freshman in college, and it really messed with a girls mind), but I have also heard so many girls say they were raped when they weren't (not involving me haha).
  19. Okay, and now the truth for all this... Minnesota is the favorites next year. Dustin Schlatter and Cole Konrad are returning champs. Roger Kish is a returning finalist. CP Schlatter is a returning Big Ten champion. Mack Reiter is a top three 133 next year, 2x AA. Manuel Rivera is solid and top three at 141 graduate. Ness will be tough at 125. Minnesota is going to be the best. Oklahoma State loses Esposito, Rosholt, Mocco, and IIRC Ward. The Virginia Tech guys, really only Slaton at 133 and Metcalf at 149 have the chance to really come in next year and start (maybe LeClere if Tsirtis RS). They still need to get their releases, and sans any wording in the scholarship, VT might not let them leave, ie Mocco to Okie State compared to Fekete to Hofstra. Four said coming would be those three and Borshel. Metcalf is huge for them.
  20. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 2, 2006 -> 01:32 PM) Contradicting my signiture, I love Martina Hingis and I'm happy she's back. She's been my favorite since I started watching tennis. Andre Agassi has been a favorite of mine aswell as James Blake. And I actually like Roger Federer, I think he's a great #1 player with a great personality. Hingis is my favorite, and I too am glad she's back. I like Federer cause he's awesome, but my favorite guy was Kuerten (wasn't he suspended?).
  21. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 03:46 PM) They also have one of the worst defenses in baseball. Dunn is a hack in LF and Griffey is running in quicksand in CF. Their infield sucks as well. Felipe Lopez isn't bad, and let's see if Womack can bounce back. Encarnacion is going to be really good too, he's just a pup.
  22. Anyone watching the Cubs game? Dunn just fell down on a not too tough fly by Derek Lee. Yikes. They don't remember why they wanted him at 1B? Haha.
  23. Articles like that make me sad. When people tell me that (Tigers fans), I ask who had a career year. Politte is the only one IMHO. Cotts is only going to get better. Garland might not get as many wins, but I see him being similar this year.
