QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 13, 2017 -> 12:52 PM) Here's the problem. You weren't just turning down that sandwich for you. You were also turning it down on behalf of millions of other people who were desperate for them. You have helped take health care away from people I care about. You may have helped kill people I care about. You didn't just turn down the sandwich, you lit a whole bunch of other sandwiches on fire and now you're confused why starving people are unhappy about it. You asked a while ago what the definition of privilege was? You're not scared right now. When you throw your hands up and say "not my fault", you better darn well be ok with people who are terrified for their friends pointing at you. That's privilege. You're a white male, presumably with stable health care situation. You don't have to fear a loved one writhing in agony on the floor of your living room because health insurers will turn them down. Or you don't have to fear being deported, or put on a list for your religion, or any of the other things he specifically said he would do. And you took away top health coverage from my family and millions of others. Your vote for Obama caused insurance companies to tell millions and millions to go f*** themselves in regards to hospital and doctor choices, we are barely even covered anymore. Your votes are responsible for putting my family's health at risk.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 13, 2017 -> 12:14 PM) Im pretty sure that if both parties worked together they could put together some pretty amazing controls that could result in better/cheaper healthcare for everyone. Its unfortunate. Isn't that true for almost every issue in government? If both sides were willing to listen to each other and compromise and ignore the lobbyists who control them, then we probably could get some great laws put together.

Jordy is OUT for Sunday's game. Rodgers did fine without him Sunday, but during the season Rodgers' turnaround seemed to coincide with Jordy finally getting back to full strength.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 13, 2017 -> 09:02 AM) I wonder if the citizens of LA are looking back fondly to the days where they had no NFL team. They're back at the beach completely indifferent to there being an NFL team. Not like us Midwestern fools.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 09:04 AM) They're temporarily moving to a tiny 30,000 seat stadium. That can't end well financially. When is the last time a NFL team played in such a small stadium? How big was the Milwaukee County Stadium the Packers played in sometimes in the 90s?

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 04:02 PM) Why do they still have update guys? With twitter you get up to the second sports news and scores. Waste of time now IMO Maybe for you, but I imagine a large portion of their audience doesn't have Twitter and still depends on the updates for current sports news.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 12:31 PM) Nobody cares but 20 years ago this month, I started working at Blockbuster. WTF Father Time? How are all those "family Video" stores still open, especially in the NW burbs? Porn?

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 11:26 AM) The finale made up for it to me. Still so sick. I just noticed that the Shane from years ago is back. That's out of nowhere. You knew Bananas was a dick, and that he'd be the most likely to take the money, but no matter how TJ said it, I never thought he would actually do it. Then BAM!

Can somebody please explain the Scandinavian aspirations?

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 11:05 AM) Is this state one of them? Because for some reason they are requiring my daughter to continue to take PE even though she's behind in credits and on her 5th year of HS. Seems to me that it would make more sense to fill her schedule with the classes required to graduate including the ones she needs to make up from previous years. At least when I was in school, Illinois was like the only state that required all high school students to take a PE class. -
QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 09:09 AM) They have had the lowest attendance in the league in recent years and by far the lowest as a % of their stadium capacity. I can see why they thought it was worth the risk. People just didn't go to games in san diego. The value of the franchise will definitely increase, and I'm sure that's all the owner cares about. But they aren't even getting their own stadium, they are still gonna be renting from the Rams. It doesn't seem like a 2-team town, and I imagine most past allegiances are with the Rams.

Chargers officially move to LA. I can't imagine that ends well unless they win a lot of games right away. LA barely wants one team, let alone two.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 08:32 AM) Maybe Abbattacola figured it's better to be the executive producer for his two very good friends is a better gig for him. He participates in the show regardless, and he will still get weekend shifts if he wants them Or move out of Chicago, try to get a gig in another city, and work your way back to Chicago, kind of like that Perkins guy did. Or never make it back to Chicago. Tough when there are so few opportunities.

President-Elect Donald Trump: The Thread

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 11, 2017 -> 11:54 AM) This is real life, folks. The American people can no longer be trusted to, in the era of the electoral college, elect someone for the people. 3 million more votes for someone eminemtly more qualified and somehow this has happened. Our country is in very real trouble. When half the people just choose not to vote at all... -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 12:46 PM) Donald Trump met with anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist Robert F. Kennedy today to discuss vaccines. First choice Jenny McCarthy was unavailable. -
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 12:26 PM) There are rumors because they are announcing the top 100 centennial list of all time players and he might be on it so they want him in the all star game. Still doesn't make it right. The one thing though that this helps is the Hawks cause Panarin has an all star bonus he would've hit and made the Hawks cap situation alittle worse next season. Maybe Bowman called in a favor. "If you really want us to play in another f***ing outdoor game, keep the Russian away from the ASG please. Thanks Gary!"
-
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 11:29 AM) All Star Game rosters announced. Kane, Toews, Crawford and Keith are in. An absolute joke Toews is in instead of Panarin, yet alone on an all star team this year. That wasn't even a fans vote, that was a selection by the league.

Starting in 2026, the World Cup will be 48 teams with 16 3-team groups. That sounds beyond awful. And ruins all of the fun that is WC Qualifying

QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 10:47 AM) Obama had the ultimate X factor. He was black. If HRC was black, she would have won. Yes, I'm admitting this. She would have won if her name was Twillary Blinton or Killary Plinton. But people HATE Hillary Clinton, including many women, so here we are. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 10, 2017 -> 08:20 AM) Clemson ran them ragged by going side to side in the first half and then hitting on tons of constraint plays in the second. They were going to score some points if they got the chance. Bama decided that it wanted to abandon the read option game much of the second half and it bit them in the ass. Thats how you can run through Clemson and they starting passing and running this pro-style stuff they hadnt done all year. Not to mention, Alabama's QB is not that good at throwing the ball yet. -

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 9, 2017 -> 08:11 PM) We can thank all those people who were too proud to vote for "Crooked Hilary" and instead didn't vote or wasted theirs on a 3rd party candidate. Absolutely pathetic. Meh. Illinois was called blue before a single vote was even counted. My "non-vote" was irrelevant. Blame the people in Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida, where it came down to a few votes. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 9, 2017 -> 11:55 PM) 463 total yards and 4 tds After 478 yards and 4 TDs last year. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 9, 2017 -> 11:57 PM) Clemson ran 99 freaking plays. Holy s***. They scored 31 points, but can't help to blame Alabama's offense for the loss. They had so many 3 and outs, that they just kept giving Clemson chances with the ball and the defense just got worn out by the end. Clemson ran 33 more plays and had 10 minutes greater time of possession, even though they trailed throughout.
