QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 16, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) Oh, and just to interject this one, who wants to watch an all white crowd at a school in Missouri where the basketball team is all white turn their backs on an all-black basketball team while at least one person held up a Trump sign? At least the home team lost. The student section turns their back to the opposing team at every game, black or white, but that doesn't fit the narrative. Although the kid that held up the Trump sign is an idiot.,

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2016 -> 07:25 AM) Samardjiza was not brought back leaving Danks as our worst pitcher. I revoke the point, and you for agreeing with greg. I'd like to appeal the court's decision. greg specifically said "the year before last". Plus, nobody likes Samardzija

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 16, 2016 -> 12:53 AM) No-movement? Never heard of that clause in sports. Specifically made in case of expansion teams? The no movement blocks a team from putting a player on waivers and dumping him in the minors, that's the added difference between it and a no-trade clause. Basically, it prevents a team from doing anything other than buying a player out.

2015 ERAs with Sox Jeff Samardzija: 4.96 John Danks: 4.71 I award one point to greg

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2016 -> 09:56 AM) If Darling keeps playing this way, do you think about moving Crawford? Darling is a UFA after this season. If he keeps playing this way, he won't be as big of a discount from Corey as he would be now.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 11:55 AM) Sounding like we are going to have back to back weekends of ridiculous snow. Im gonna be going home, loading up my snowblower and taking it in to get fixed before the weekend because it seems like a mere shovel aint gonna cut it. All summer long i put off getting it fixed lol anywhere from 5-10 inches expected That article you linked is from last weekend. I know it's supposed to snow this Friday/Saturday, are they really calling for 5-10 inches again?

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 11:41 AM) No they haven't. They are usually noodle armed guys though. Mahomes is way different. He's raw and will need to sit but he has the biggest arm in the class. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 11:43 AM) Mariota (and Newton in fact) turned out alright. I'm sceptical about the kid reading certain plays, but his arm is the goods. Probably the strongest in the whole draft. Thanks for the insight. I just see Texas Tech QBs throw for 400 yards every game, so I just assume they are all the same
-
Hahn feels bad about the Eaton trade, so he threw Rizzo a bone and give him an extra arm.

Current forecasted temperatures for Sunday. High: 2, Low: -11. Good thing I sold my Bears/Packers tix while they were still going for face.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 13, 2016 -> 11:01 AM) Trubinsky or Kizer and I'm good. If both go before 4, take best D available and go Mahomes in round 2 Have any recent Texas Tech quarterbacks had success in the NFL? A bit cautions about some of these "scheme" QBs in college, where anyone steps in and dominates.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) I can't blame them for thinking they'd have Cutler for "most" of the season, but anyone who thought Jay Cutler would start 16 games based on his history wasn't doing their job. Furthermore, anyone could see that Jay Cutler's contract allowed the Bears an extremely easy out after this season, and there was a substantial probability they'd use that out if he had anything other than a top flight season. Similarly, I cannot blame the Bears for missing on Dak Prescott alone. However, I can state that the Bears have had available draft picks when a number of different QBs went. While I couldn't have predicted hitting a late draft pick, I can predict with ease that you have 0 chance of filling the most important position on the field when you do not select one. They should have at least been trying. If they didn't like the 1 or 2 round QBs, fine, they have Cutler, but there was always playing time available behind him. It makes zero sense why Pace has yet to select a QB in two drafts. Even with a late pick, just take a chance on a guy so you have working with the team and maybe you will see something you like.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 11:51 AM) Rumors going around today that Bill Polian is looking to get back in a FO position, and the Bears are reportedly interested in the name of restructuring and possibly removing Phillips from football decision power (ie. Polian takes on some sort of president of football ops type job) Rex Ryan might also be getting the ax today Adam Schefter quickly shot down the Polian to Chicago rumors. Adam JahnsVerified account @adamjahns ESPN's @AdamSchefter after talking to Bill Polian: "He's not coming to work for the Chicago #Bears." Says Polian was confused by the story.

What if Todd Gurley was on the Cowboys and Ezekiel Elliott was on the Rams?

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 11, 2016 -> 08:27 AM) So I've clinched a playoff spot in 3 of 4 my leagues. Unfortunately my main league and the only one I really care about I'm in a win and I'm in/lose and I'm out game this week. Soooooo: Stafford or Ben and Martellus or Fleener? Yes the tight end options are awful, blame Gronk. Fleener and Stafford. Big Ben always scares me on the road. I didn't realize Julio is likely not gonna play. Picked up Taylor Gabriel. I might start him instead even if Julio does play.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 10, 2016 -> 07:15 PM) Seems increasingly likely the Exxon Mobil CEO is going to be Secretary of state. This makes sense because Why would the CEO of Exxon want to be SOS? That is quite the pay cut. Future potential earnings? Does he have to resign his position as CEO to take the job? -
Assessing the White Sox Future and Hawk's Announcing Future

Blowing up the roster and firing Hawk would equate to the 2nd best offseason in 100 years. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 12:19 PM) Fairly certain is WAY overstating the case. 100% accurate. I am all for the rebuilding but it's entirely possible they don't sniff a playoff berth in the next 5 seasons. But they probably wouldn't have with their old strategy either so might as well change it up. But people are a bit too confident in immediate success.

QUOTE (South Sider @ Dec 10, 2016 -> 10:56 AM) He must really not want to be a Marlin to have not accepted 5/80+ at this point. Wow. He was getting married back in Curacao this week, so he might be pretty occupied and not deciding yet.

QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 12:57 PM) Supposedly STL vastly overpaid to ensure they'd land him for sure. I agree with you, though. Huge contract for a solid contributer. It's definitely a bit of an overpay coming off a career year but the Cardinals have tons of.money despite crying poor, so I think it's a good move on their part

QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 08:52 AM) f***. Looks like we are getting bombed this weekend with snow. 6-10 inches in the burbs. I'd be fine with just the snow. But immediately after, the temps drop into the single digits for a week every f***ing time. Wednesday high of 11, low of -1. Thursday high of 10, low of 1. If snow was followed by temps in the 30s and 40s it would be so much more tolerable.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 09:14 AM) as opposed to praying that everyone who was signed over the offseason finds the fountain of youth and is able to recreate their career season I enjoyed the months of discussion about how awesome Felipe Paulino was gonna be -
QUOTE (Soxnfins @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 08:58 AM) Whenever I hear Eric Thames, I keep thinking of Marcus.... Marcus played for DET, Eric played for TOR. Wait, there are two Thames? I honestly just thought it was the one who played for Detroit. Apparently he is 39 already.
