QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 30, 2016 -> 11:30 AM) Supposedly, this is the last game Alshon will be a member of the Bears. This is such the wrong move if the Bears do this. They have so much space under the salary cap right now, I don't see the justification in losing him for nothing.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 29, 2016 -> 11:40 AM) I disagree. The stadium is great for fans, especially when compared to the old one. The sight lines are great. The food is good and very easy to get to. There are plenty of bathrooms. I agree, I think the fan experience inside the stadium is very underrated, it's very solid. Only negative is that when you are in the top rows of the 400 level, there is no middle concourse exit, so you have to go all the way down. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 29, 2016 -> 01:29 PM) Not really. Its the worst in the city. Walking is entirely done from over a mile away, there is one road that goes past it. One. There is little to no public transportation options. Its awful. And I agree with this too. If you drive and park, the traffic is always brutal. That always makes the CTA shuttle buses a giant pain in the ass cause they take so long. We call the walk north to Roosevelt the death march, it's soooo long. The 18th street pedestrian bridge is much more manageable, but there's not as much over there and not close to major public transportation.

QUOTE (brett05 @ Dec 29, 2016 -> 10:42 AM) Yes, refuse to not do YOUR JOB and expect to be PAID as if you DID. Makes sense. Comparing a job requirement to rape is pretty impressive there. -
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 07:54 PM) The fact that Carrie Fisher's mother basically died of a broken heart is incredibly depressing. RIP Debbie and Carrie and condolences to their family. It wasn't a broken heart, it was because she was 84 years old.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 06:12 PM) If that's true then they have to bring in a veteran QB, regardless of wehther or not it's the right move for the franchise. JimG or Romo, I think there's a couple other plausibles but that would be the reality. Given how much cap space they have, Romo seems very likely

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 10:15 PM) But most of these celebrities aren't old. When you live life the way they do, I would disagree.

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 03:07 PM) Reminds me of when Crede dropped a foul ball and the next pitch, Manny Ramirez hit the ball onto the Dan Ryan It went half way up the bleachers, but it only took about 0.2 seconds to get there off his bat. Just the hardest line drive homer I have ever seen.

The infamous 32-14 doubleheader shellacking by the Twins. I was in the outfield for this day game, it was so f***ing hot. And they just kept scoring. Both teams, actually. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CH...200707061.shtml

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 10:54 AM) No. After Matt Cassell, I really wonder if these guys are system QB's. I agree. Belichick is the league's best coach bar none, and you do have to worry about a decline in play away from him. If the Bears were like picking 29th, then maybe I would start to consider it. Maybe. But zero chance I'd give up a top 5 pick on him.

QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Dec 28, 2016 -> 09:34 AM) Agreed. Loads of high draft picks have done little to help the White Sox system the last few years. Say what? From 2010-2015 the White Sox had five first round draft picks. 4 of them have already appeared in the majors. You can't ask for much more than that. -
QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 01:02 PM) We'll be seeing the excesses of the 70's and 80's catching up to people in the coming years. Cocaine. Is it really that 2016 was such a bad year or is this gonna be the norm as there are more and more celebrities nowadays, and they are all getting older.

I can't imagine anyone is working today with all the action going in the Q thread. We are working normally today, and closed Monday, then the same for New Years. Don't mind it today so I can get some peace and quiet before the in-laws fly in tonight and Christmas mayhem officially begins

Jeremy Hill, Spencer Ware, or Ty Montgomery? I was thinking Ware, but Ty is intriguing although I'm already starting Jordy.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 02:59 PM) I disagree on the Bonds part but whole heartedly agree on the getting rid of the old guard. The whole "no first ballot" thing drove me crazy. He either is or isn't a HOF. The "no first ballot" was my biggest beef. Anybody who wouldn't vote for Maddux or Ripen or Henderson should have their name stricken from anything involving baseball for all of history.
-
I'm now on a HMO instead of PPO so basically uninsured but paying even more. If I could buy my kids their own plan and pay the fine for myself I would because this is just getting ridiculous.
-
I refuse to acknowledge the Hall of Fame anymore until they vote Bonds in. It's good to see that after the cleaning out of some of the old guard voters are starting to vote with common sense. Raines most definitely deserves to be in too.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 19, 2016 -> 11:47 AM) Fournette and McCaffery skipping their bowl games and getting roasted on twitter by people who sit on their couches and watch games. This will become the norm we should expect. Especially with the playoff system. They want to be healthy for NFL prep. I don't blame them. After that Jaylon Smith injury last season, it's not surprising. If you aren't in the playoff, it's basically an exhibition game. Fournette missed several games with his ankle injury this season, have to wonder how serious it actually was. Can't blame the kid if you know you will be drafted either way. -
