At least a dozen killed in CA bar shooting
Why do you only include non suicidal deaths? I have to imagine many of those suicides would not have happened if a gun was not so easily accessible.

The Fighting Illini
It was a good consistent basketball program that got derailed by two bad coaches, and the third one is questionable at the moment. The football program was never that good, in part because Chicago does not have good high school football. The talent is dwarfed by nearby states.

Glad to get two points, but they may have been the most boring uneventful victory I have attended, talk about two teams in decline.

Damnit. Who knew having a good football team could become so inconvenient?

Every team having a bye week before the Thursday game makes too much sense, but likely it will somehow cost the owners a dollar or two, so they won't have it.

"Player safety is of utmost importance!" - NFL Not letting a D-lineman touch the quarterback is gonna save lives in the future, but 2 football games in 90 hours is no biggie.

Amazon HQ2
Companies like Amazon are what future movies like Idiocracy and Demoliton Man are based on. It's really dangerous what they are becoming and scary how the public and government just bows to every wish and command.

Alternate Plan for a $150 Million Payroll
Either you can sign multiple mid-tier free agents who are pretty volatile or you trade your young prospects for vets who make big money, which throws away the whole reason you did the rebuild in the first place.

You have to wonder if they still would have moved the game had it been Raiders vs. Buccs, as opposed to the biggest game of the year with the highest over/under in NFL history.

Didn't watch much Illini last year, but are there always this many layups in Underwood games? And I'm talking both ends of the court, it's crazy. And you know you're old when the son of a player you attended college with at the same time is now on the team.

Pretty amazing story about a California "band" that created a fake fanbase and record label to go on a European tour that nobody attended. http://www.metalsucks.net/2018/11/09/l-a-band-threatin-faked-a-fanbase-to-land-a-european-tour-no-one-attended/

Am I only the only 1 uneasy about this off season?
Hahn gets way too much credit for a few team friendly extensions in the modern era of team-friendly extensions. Not every player signs one but a hell of a lot of them do. The best team in the division has signed more than Hahn, because they have been better at developing young talent.

That's kind of a crazy stat to do so much better on FG. I went back to look and Robbie was pretty mediocre in 2014 & 2015. 9-12 in 2014, though I think he got hurt, then 33-39 in 2015. That's not awful, but I specifically remember two home games in 2015 that he blew on missed field goals. When they cut him, I didn't think it was a bad move, he looked like he was at the end of the road, but kickers do have long shelf lives and he figured it out.

Incredible game from Mitchell, hard to believe it's the same QB as the second half vs Green Bay where he looked like a deer in headlights. Having the stud WR and pass rusher back was huge. Very concerned about Parkey, but can you really find better off the street? Nagy is really showing his youth when coaching with the lead. When he needs to be aggressive, he gets nervous and runs conservatively, then when a run play is needed he start gets fancy again. Hopefully they keep having the lead so he can work on that.
