  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 01:52 PM) @royalsauthority: On V-Mart: Sal Perez had meniscus surgery 3/16/12. Missed 1st 67 games of the season. Returned on 6/22/12. Perez turned 22 while rehabbing. Martinez is 36. FYI, if you Google Victor Martinez, it's the same as Jay Cutler, a massive bodybuilder appears.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 11:47 AM) I collected heavily until around high school graduation (1991). Sold all my cards but three before I went off to college, so I'd have some spending money. I think I got like $1800 for everything, which seemed like a huge windfall at the time. I kept: --A 1956 Mickey Mantle Topps card that I found on the ground in an alley --Carlton Fisk rookie card (was actually a three-rookie card, also had Cecil Cooper I think), which Fisk later signed --Billy Ripken F*** FACE error card Still have those three, in a box in my closet. Good move, I bet those cards you sold aren't even worth $180 today. Sometimes I glance eBay to see what some of my best cards are worth, and it's very, very sad.
  3. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 08:39 AM) Everyone knew Viciedo was terrible except Chicago and, apparently, Seattle. To be fair, marijuana is legal in one of those cities. I don't know what Chicago's excuse is.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 10:30 AM) Social media. I think the soldiers that were there have been telling people he was lying from the beginning. Also, what the hell happened to Mr. Belding? Geez. Instead of money, they paid him with a lifetime supply of chocolate, that's common knowledge.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 09:00 AM) I am pretty sure this is a circled move on Rick Hahns big board in his office. Circled in Sharpie

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 05:09 AM) And it basically cost Elizabeth Berkeley her career. Demi Moore was in a similarly terrible movie, Striptease. One of those previous flicks was also somewhat famous for the Gina Gershon lesbian scenes (can't remember off the top of my head), which would later be surpassed by Neve Campbell and Denise Richards in Wild Things. A lack of acting ability cost Elizabeth Berkeley her "career", there is a reason she was doing that movie in the first place.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 07:45 AM) crazy airplane crash footage in Taipei this morning South Eastern Asia is quickly passing Russia as having the world's most dangerous airlines
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 5, 2015 -> 07:51 AM) Beckman should never call in to B&B ever again. What a trainwreck, he basically displayed every trope/cliche that they attack Somebody in the media/PR department has to know better than that. That's the one radio show he just should avoid, there is zero to gain from it. Any other show in Chicago would be fine.
  9. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 04:03 PM) Just read some about it, apparently he was telling the media to focus more on the positives and not just the negatives (very much paraphrasing there). It didn't sound like a total shot at the media, but yea telling the media what to do will never go well. I see his point, Beckman has dug himself (note: he did this all by himself) a big hole and the media (and let's face it, fans) aren't letting him get out easily. To him, the staff, and the players, the program is on the up and has had a couple really good months (making the bowl game, finishing strong recruiting wise), but to the media and most fans it's just a delayed crumble to a failed regime. I don't think Beckman is the answer, but I do think he deserves credit for getting to that bowl game when pretty much everyone wrote them off, and to pull in a recruiting class like they did is a good sign. Now can he not just sustain it but grow on it? Not sure on that, but this year is 100% make or break for him. The beat writer for the Tribune wrote an article tonight strongly and harshly calling him out for his comments. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/colle...0204-story.html
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 04:50 PM) Marc Loving has "lost the privilege to wear Scarlett and grey". MOAR Amir Williams!
  11. BYU signed the day's BIGGEST recruit, 6'7, 410 pound lineman from Tonga.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 02:26 PM) Didnt Snoop have an issue with Pat Haden or something? Or was it Sarkesian? Wasn't that Lendale White?
  13. Snoop Dogg's son commits to UCLA. Snoop says he will burn all his USC underwear and will 100% switch allegiances to UCLA. Gotta love Signing Day.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 02:06 PM) I am pretty stunned they couldn't find someone to give them garbage for him. Agreed, given how valuable power has become.
  15. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 10:31 PM) I do have renter's insurance. But none of my personal belongings were actually ruined. It's more the physical place itself (floors, ceiling, cabinetry, etc) that needs to be fixed. Figured that should fall under my landlord's insurance, but there's no telling if he'll just pocket the money. Besides the personal belongings, I think the renters insurance may also cover outside expenses you incur if you cannot live at your apartment like hotel costs, extra meals, etc. As the other posters said, I would definitely document and put in writing when the damage happened, what days you couldn't live there, etc. It might depend on your lease or local laws, but I would think you cloud fairly deduct the rent for the days that the place is not livable. (If the landlord does have his own insurance, it should cover loss of rent anyway, so it shouldn't be a big deal to him either)
  16. I thought this camera angle from the sideline was very cool, it really showed how great of a play Butler made. From letting Browner know what's going on, then just going after the ball and jumping the route right after the ball is snapped. (Sorry I slept through the mod lesson on embedding videos)
  17. Who cares if she lip syncs? It's a whole performance. Now the national anthem or God Bless America, when people lip sync those at events, that's bad.
  18. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 10:24 AM) Not a fan, but he did just get us to a bowl and signed a top 6 BIG class. Gotta give him some credit for that. Now if he goes 6-6 again, he'll be on the hotseat once more. Yeah, he deserves some credit, he keeps improving record-wise and recruiting wise. Next year's schedule appears much tougher on paper though, so we will see what happens.
  19. QUOTE (shysocks @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 10:26 AM) He can apply what he learned with the Heat. For example, the crowd loves when you shout what point of the game it is. Twwwwooooooooo minutes - DOS! Experience with fair weather fanbases is probably good for a job with the Sox.
  20. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 09:38 AM) Illinois with a pretty damn good class. Could be ranked 5th best class in the BIG. I'll take it Nice. That can only help the upcoming head coaching search in December.

  22. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 08:01 AM) What we learned Sunday: the best cheater in the history of the NFL can outcoach the best cheater in the history of college football. Belichick keeps getting caught and USC got hit with major sanctions. Neither of them are the "best" at cheating, that's for sure.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 04:29 PM) Just remember, every time you fill up your gas tank, you're making a strong statement in support of beheading. Just remember, every time you buy Chicago Bears tickets or merchandise, you're making a strong statement in support of anti-vaccination.
  24. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 08:40 PM) The condo that I rent flooded last Friday when a pipe burst in the condo above us. Luckily, I was working from home and my roommate was home for lunch at the time, so we both told our bosses we were done for the day and frantically tried keeping it from doing too much damage. I mean, water was pouring through our ceiling in the laundry room (which is off the kitchen). We built a barricade as best we could and I bailed water with a 5 gallon bucket for over an hour while my roommate had a big mop that he was using to push the water away from the hallway to our bedrooms. Pretty funny scene actually when looking back on it. My place isn't livable at all. We can't use our kitchen, laundry room, or living room. Not a huge deal for me b/c I travel Monday-Thursday for work. But my roommate has to deal with it, and I will too on the weekends. Contractors came by and said all the wood floors would have to be ripped out, a large portion of the ceiling replaced, bottom cabinets replaced, and dry wall in spots. But my landlord is being fairly sketchy. He wouldn't return calls all weekend. Finally got back to us today and said he'd compensate for having to go out to eat, etc. Not sure I really trust him though. I assume it's best to get this in writing. But if we can't and he bails, can we stop from paying rent? Any alternatives? I mean, I'm not paying to live in a construction zone while not having a working laundry room or kitchen. Btw, we were told it would be a month of work by the contractors. I can't see how that's possible but if it is that long, that's going to be a big pain. Do you have renters insurance? I'd imagine that would help cover any extra expenses if the place is unlivable.
  25. Minnesota could easily have 5 or 6 goals at this point if not for #50. Ugly.
