The slopiness continues. This road trip can't end soon enough -
QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 02:13 PM) Couldn't disagree more. You must have found the one honest alderman in Chicago!

Yankees, Red Sox, or Dodgers??? I guess the Cubs hit their limit last year, so they can't sign any international FAs until July?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 03:17 PM) Many people care more about their dogs than they do their own kids. A certain legendary White Sox pitcher might fall into this group. -
Apparently beheading wasn't getting these guys off anymore. They put the Jordanian pilot in a cage with accelerant on him, then lead a long trail of the stuff. They lit it on fire so he slowly watched the flames approach him until he was burned alive. Sick bastards In response, Jordan plans on executing the female terrorist prisoner that had set to be exchanged for the pilot.

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 01:24 PM) These situations are tailor made for complaining like hell to your alderman, who also may be in the midst of an election on feb 22nd. Unless you live on said alderman's block, complaining won't help the plows find your street much quicker.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Feb 3, 2015 -> 10:18 AM) I don't read anything from mlb.com not written by Jim Callis, and I was quickly reminded why. The writer seemed to favor closers to setup men in his rankings, which is probably why Wade Davis was 25th, but then Batences was a setup men last year and was ranked 5th on his list. Also, if Fernando Rodney is the 6th best reliever in MLB then I think we could audition random dudes off the street to pitch in the big leagues. And he didn't even mention Kelvin Herrera

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 04:12 PM) And one is wildly more successful. The NFL also has an all-star game and nobody seems to think it's fantastic. Just because the Peoples Choice award exists doesn't mean it's the Oscars. MLB & NFL all-star games destroy the NBA game in TV ratings. http://regressing.deadspin.com/the-mlb-had...ts-t-1606770612

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) Being a landlord sounds like a giant pain in the ass. It's pretty nice about 10 months a year or so. Until you have to switch renters or you get an e-mail saying "The heat's not working or the dishwasher's leaking or the washing machine doesn't work". Then it really sucks.

When was the last time you bought a pack of baseball cards?
LittleHurt05 replied to Texsox's topic in SLaM
Maybe junior high, so over 20 years ago? For the packs I bought the most of, I used to try to collect the entire set for that year. I would always be missing a couple cards. In the back of the Beckett magazines, there used to be ads for people selling single cards. Of course this being the early 90s, for the most part I would have to contact them via snail mail, and then mail them like a $2 check for 5 single cards of bench warming players. The good old days. -

Warren Sapp arrested for soliciting a prostitute at 7 AM in Phoenix. You are a Hall of Famer at the Super Bowl, and you need to try to pay for some strange? You are doing something wrong, C'mon Man! -
Why in the hell would you want it to be anything like an NBA game? I don't know about this guy.

With our home construction project, we can't use our garage really, so we have to park on the street. (No driveway) The Jeep got out fine this morning, but it's gonna be an adventure to get my sedan out tonight.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 10:38 AM) Polar bear wanting to get drafted by Mexico had me cracking up. You can't go wrong with animals in sombreros. I enjoyed when the dodo bird was drafted and immediately keeled over.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Feb 1, 2015 -> 11:18 PM) Why didn't bill call timeout after first down? It worked out in the end, but that was a worse decision than the Seattle play call. -

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Feb 1, 2015 -> 10:34 PM) Yeah, McNair brought his team back from the dead. Much respect there. To me, that was the first great Super Bowl. Every previous one I saw was a blowout. Rams vs Patriots was good as was Patriots vs Panthers, Steelers vs Seahawks, Saints vs Colts, NY vs NE, SF vs Baltimore, and of course this year. These youngins don't know how bad super bowls used to be prior to 99. Growing up the Super Bowl was just beating up on Buffalo year after year. -

The way Lynch was running, was there any doubt he would have gained 1.5 yards in 2 plays? They had a timeout. Ridiculous. That being said, Tom Brady & company drove down the field 4 times and scored touchdowns against one of the best defenses ever. They also ruined another drive with an end zone pick. None of those drives were really short fields either. -
The Budweiser dog won everything.

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 1, 2015 -> 07:26 PM) I don't think I'm being hyperbolic when I say those dancing sharks are the greatest thing to ever happen at the super bowl That's the closest Sharks will ever get to a championship game. (hockey joke) -

How does the best team in the league have such an awful receiving core?
