QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 3, 2014 -> 07:31 AM) i think Fitzgerald is going to have to step back and realize that the golden boy luster CAN wear off, and stop having some of the bizarre press conferences he has had the past couple years. I was a fan of his, but he is slowly becoming unlikeable. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 2, 2014 -> 06:29 PM) Took Molly at the Kentucky Derby. Fantastic. Well he was walking around in a bright colored suit, top hat, and big sunglasses passing out $100 bills. It all makes a whole lot more sense now -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 2, 2014 -> 01:27 PM) I don't think Goose is any worse than Aikman or Simms. I mean look at this list of s*** for Fox: 1) Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Erin Andrews 2) Kevin Burkhardt, John Lynch and Pam Oliver 3) Chris Myers, Ronde Barber and Jennifer Hale 4) Thom Brennaman, David Diehl and Laura Okmin 5) Kenny Albert, Daryl “Moose” Johnston and Tony Siragusa 6) Dick Stockton, Donovan McNabb/Brady Quinn/Kirk Morrison and Kristina Pink I'm surprised they didn't renew Billick's contract. He was the best analyst IMO, although he talked a little too much. Siragusa is easily the best on field talent and I agree he's added more as the years have gone by. Nice! From the University of Chief Illiniwek -
I would not trade Q for Stanton straight up given each player's current contract situation.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 2, 2014 -> 11:42 AM) Did they change all the TV rules? With the road team being an AFC team this would always have been a CBS game. The rules are mostly the same, but they now allow "cross flexing" for some games. Bears/Lions on Thanskgiving will be on CBS. If a certain network has a time slot locked, it gives them the option to air more appealing games. -
QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 1, 2014 -> 07:12 PM) I had an amazing time on Friday at US Open. Best match was granollers vs ivo karlovic or Venus Williams match. I caught wozniacki vs petkovic at the grandstand which was a bit of a breezy win for woz but was my only match at the grandstand which was sooo awesome. Also caught tail end of Taylor Townsend and Donald youngs mixed doubles match. That sounds awesome. I've always wanted to hit up a tennis tourney, one of these years I'll finally get to Indian Wells. I'm in the area twice a year anyway, just haven't been able to time it with the tourney yet.

Dunn traded to Athletics for Nolan Sanburn

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 1, 2014 -> 08:53 PM) Yep, cause he's the new guy. New blood. Second team quarterback syndrome. If he keeps hitting home runs, he'll be a fricking hero there for sure. I have nothing against the A's, so it'd be neat if Dunn defines their postseason run. I still say Robin will have some explaining to do if Dunn finds the fountain of youth in Oakland after reeking on the South Side. Hey greg, who was Dunn's manager when he put up the worst season in the history of baseball??? (hint: it wasn't Robin Ventura) -
Royals Indians game suspended, to be resumed Sept 22 in Cleveland. The division race just got more interesting

QUOTE (TRU @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 11:21 PM) This to me pretty much says the Rams used one of their 3 7th round picks as a favor to draft Sam with no real intentions of keeping him on their roster in any form. They might have the best defensive line in all of football, so it probably wasn't the best landing spot for him. -

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 09:53 PM) I was a big proponent of the Adam Dunn signing. Overall, his time here was underwhelming, largely exacerbated by his 2011 season. It put a bad taste in the mouths of a large portion of the fanbase, so while strikeouts and all the good stuff that comes with a player like Dunn were expected, I think they were harder to tolerate for many because of that season's stink. If you're drinking all night at a party, it's expected that you're going to end up sloshed towards the end of the festivities and likely wake up hungover. If you're drinking all night at a party and you also happen to be on prescription medication, you're going to end up sloshed a lot earlier and likely wake up in much worse shape. Dunn '11 is the prescription medication. That said, this guy wasn't too far off Of course the Reds improved when Dunn left. His last six years in Cincinnati they gave up over 800 runs each season. It hasn't happened again since and the last few years they have allowed less than 600. I am sure that's all Dunns fault, it has nothing to do with the sudden improvement of the Reds pitching staff. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 07:48 PM) http://comeseesumting.com/2014/08/chiefs-s...mil-guaranteed/ QB purgatory is an awful place to be, yet it seems half the NFL is there -
QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 08:14 PM) Huge game for the Indians right now. 2 back in the loss column if they win. I would be just giddy if Cleveland won the division and Seattle won the 2nd wild card.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 06:21 PM) I think you're reading into it a bit much. Right after he said bad timing, he said wrong decision. He's clearly not endorsing people to beat their wives. I get it, but it's just the way ESPN keeps treating domestic violence like a speeding ticket to protect their NFL image. He has over 3 million followers and he's so concerned McDonald may face a longer suspension because it happened this week, not last week. Never mind the pregnant woman he beat up. -
How is Davidson defensively? Better or worse than Conor?

Given the beat down Anaheim just put on Oakland, Dunn ' s first postseason appearance may only last one game -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 03:03 PM) Bad timing as he gets to be the first to test the new policy. So last week would have been good timing to beat a pregnant woman? I guess I see what he is trying to say, but come on now, especially as such a public spokesperson -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 10:54 PM) Winston didn't look good tonight. USC and their new offense was very impressive. I know it's very early, but there doesn't seem to be a team in the country that is leaps and bounds better than everyone else. It can't be overstated how much Lane Kiffin brought that team down. -

The purge continues!!! I try to think positively of the Dunn era, but 2011 happened so I can't. He was paid big bucks to be the difference maker on an aging contender, and instead he put up the worst season in the history of the sport. Hard to look past that, but I did enjoy the long home runs. If that first season had instead happened in 2013 or 2014, i think his legacy would be a little different. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 10:44 PM) Ohio state "escapes" but Bama had "quantity win." Love u ESPN. Navy gets no respect! -
After 2011 and 2012 I legitimately thought the Sox had their leadoff hitter, I thought De Aza was for real. Oh well. Now that Baltimore is out of the mix, I think Oakland is the only possible destination left for Adam Dunn.
