  1. Gloria Allred hosting a press conference with past allegations of domestic violence against Brandon Marshall.
  2. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 11:27 AM) http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/...e-phrase-public Winston should obviously know better, but I just can't help but think that suspension is ridiculous.
  3. And Reggie Bush has joined the "It's OK to beat your kid, just don't leave bruises" crowd.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 08:08 AM) How well does the "we should just shut Sale down in May" and "Give him Tommy John Now" crowd look right now? Wasn't that crowd shot down and laughed at from day one?
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 07:59 AM) Why do you say this as if it is somewhat surprising? Money always talks the loudest, and usually a lot louder when it runs parallel with morality(or perceived morality) I didn't mean to sound surprised, just amused with how quickly everything can change. On Monday, there was no way the morality police would get in the way of "due process" (and the Vikings' most important player). A few corporations speak up in the next 36 hours and it's suddenly all over, so much for "due process".
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2014 -> 09:25 PM) Great point. I was just thinking the texting might bother a teacher. I know if I was giving a presentation it would throw me off seeing all the people texting and surfing and playing video games rather than listening. Before cell phones, half the lecture hall would be reading the campus newspaper or sleeping. Ignoring college professors is not some new fad brought on by cell phones. You are paying for it, you have to take the test, it's your choice to pay attention.
  7. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 01:38 AM) http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11541346...adrian-peterson I guess money trumps winning. Once Bud & Nike opened their mouths, it was over.
  8. So who is Arrieta getting traded for this winter? Carlos Correa? Francisco Lindor?
  9. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 16, 2014 -> 04:37 PM) So Kershaw has pitched approximately 15 innings worth of *yawn How many pitchers has Sale gone up against this year? He struck out Ryan Vogelsong twice, that's it.
  10. If the beer companies open their mouths, that's when you know it's starting to get serious.
  11. Pitchers have 45 PAs against Kershaw. They have 3 hits (1 2B), 1 BB, 21 K, and 5 sacrifice bunts. .077/.100/.103
  12. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 16, 2014 -> 02:12 PM) Kershaw only has to deal with 8 hitters though. In 2014, here are the splits for non-pitchers batting against these pitchers. Kershaw: .197/.232/.294 Sale: .199/.254/.291 Felix: .202/.245/.307
  13. Well that was quite the s*** show on Saturday in Seattle. Luckily we had a connection so we were able to tailgate on a boat, which was awesome. I think half the crowd spent the second half drinking in the school's sponsored tailgate zone. Given the "strength" of the Big Ten so far, I'm starting to think Beckman actually has a chance to win a few conference games and save his job.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 15, 2014 -> 10:38 PM) Colts got f***ed bad by the refs tonight. While true, their inability to tackle the smallest guy on the field is what ultimately did them in.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 07:48 PM) Yankees have no hits thru 6. Only 76 pitches for Alex Cobb. And Chris Young walks them off, 3 run bomb.
  16. The day Dunn retires, he is headed straight for Hollywood. One Oscar nomination already under his belt.
  17. Tracy Abrams officially out for the season with a torn ACL
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 03:10 PM) The Spin-O-Rama is now banned during shootouts, along with a couple of other rule changes http://www.nbcchicago.com/blogs/madhouse-e...lFlowFB_CHBrand That icing faceoff rule is interesting, something that I didn't really notice. The Spin-O-Rama rule makes sense, they say the puck is still moving "forward", but not really.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 02:02 PM) Sounds like it's going to come down to bullpens. Nice win for Oakland. Monday & Wednesday the bullpen battle went to the Sox.
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 01:21 PM) Emptiest game thread ever. It's too cold out to even follow baseball online.
  21. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 11, 2014 -> 01:07 PM) Cutler has fathered two children, so he is directly responsible for an increase in carbon footprint. He's also married to a woman who has been on TV scantily-clad, and that really pisses off Muslims. They also don't believe in immunizing those children, which sets off another large group of people.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 10:59 PM) I thought we were going to be more like the Yankees after we won it all in 05. I was hoping we'd always re-stock with GOOD free agents. This other way isn't going to get the Sox back into the postseason anytime soon. If it was that easy to always re-stock with good free agents, the Yankees wouldn't be missing the playoffs again and wouldn't be on 5 years without a WS appearance. Especially since the market dictates that you must sign them to long term-deals, through their down years.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 10, 2014 -> 12:58 AM) Shields really needs to earn him "Big Game" moniker tomorrow against Porcello to stop the bleeding. He definitely showed up against the Yankees in his last start. And the Mariners are only 0.5 game back for the 2nd wild card spot, so a postseason big in general is in jeopardy. Time for "Big Game" to step it up I guess.
  24. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 10, 2014 -> 01:50 AM) I can't quit you, recruiting. Slowly step away from the Illinois message board...
  25. I'm amazed by how many kids still don't realize that if you post bad stuff on social media, people will see it and you will get in trouble.
