  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 11, 2013 -> 07:46 AM) .278 OBP. Last in the AL---and that includes the Astros. Fire Walker...oh wait. Almost every team goes through an 8-game stretch like that during the season. Just so happens the Sox did it during the first 8 games
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 09:26 PM) The Royals look like they could be something. They play Toronto next and then hit the road--Atlanta, Boston, Detroit. We'll see. They have only played one good team so far, and that was the series they lost.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 08:05 PM) If Beckham has to Dl, call up Omogrosso and flip to a 6 man rotation for 2 turns. Santiago as the 6th starter I assume?
  4. Has it even rained at Wrigley at all yet? It hasn't by O'Hare, may have been a premature rainout?
  5. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 06:37 PM) holy f*** how did Dan Hayes get that job? he's awful Casting couch...
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 04:19 PM) Agreed. Buehrle will probably end up being the same guy, but if he has an awful year, I wouldn't put it past him to leave a ton of money on the table, and just go home. I'd be shocked if he did that, especially considering how backloaded his contract is. His 2014 & 2015 salaries are $18 million & $19 million.
  7. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 10, 2013 -> 10:01 AM) I see where Steve has changed his avatar back to Oduya. If Oduya tore his ACL, he would be back in 8 months, tops.
  8. QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 01:42 PM) For me, it's hard to say because I believe in the butterfly effect in baseball. Just because he figured it out in Oakland, doesn't mean he would have figured it out in Chicago. Given the record pitchers have here, odds say he does, but you never really know. You can almost the same thing about Swisher. He has worked out in Oakland & New York, but he didn't in Chicago. He had the worst season of his career by far for the Sox. If he puts up his normal numbers, maybe he stays a few years at his then lower salary and the trade looks differently.
  9. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 01:36 PM) If the playoffs started today, all original six teams would playing each other in the first round. Current NHL Playoff Matchups And the Islanders would make the playoffs!
  10. Per Rosenthal, Jered Weaver out 4-6 weeks with a broken left elbow
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 10:37 AM) And we all know he will go year to year until he hits his powerball jackpot in free agency. The only question is will he end up in New York or LA?
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:36 AM) Then the Rays are going to have an incredible dynasty too, considering they have Longoria/Myers and Price/Moore/Hellickson/Cobb How are they gonna defeat the Royals dynasty?
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:08 AM) I wouldn't even call it that entertaining. The officiating was the worst I can remember, and the defense wasn't much better. When was the last time an NBA/NCAA game had good officiating?
  14. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:47 AM) Nationals are my favorite team. They are building one of the best dynasties ever seen. It's historic, they have won all of zero playoff series and have one playoff appearance.
  15. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 11:37 PM) Great game. Was hoping for a Michigan (big ten) win, oh well. Same thoughts here. One of the most entertaining championship games I've ever seen. In the end, for all the talk of parity, the best team in the country won the title.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 05:58 PM) I'm not saying it is Cub big, but it is bigger than I though. Pre-World Series, I wouldn't have guessed we could average 36k a night, no matter what. I would have thought 30k was about the ceiling. The question is, how many of those 36k were actually Sox fans? I bet a lot of them were just neutral fans or even Cubs fans who came to see a WS champion.
  17. Playoff berth clinched. Now please stay healthy for the next 3 weeks.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 04:59 PM) They are bandwagon fans with tons of excuses. Yup. And it shows in the attendance trends of the last 10-15 years.
  19. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 09:50 AM) We beat their two best pitchers, too. And people were freaking out because Axelrod was scheduled to face Felix.
  20. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) Why stop at attending games? I say if you don't give 15% of your income to the Sox you're not doing your part as a fan. I'm also a fan of the Bears, Blackhawks, & Illini. So in order to be a true fan, should I be giving 60% of my income to sports teams?
  21. Dan Haren has been awful for the last year or so, and he's been very prone to the gopher ball, which is the Sox specialty.
  22. Just watched the highlights, the Sox should wear those jerseys every game.
