  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 28, 2014 -> 10:26 PM) I'm not gonna say Noesi is cooper fixed and everything is definitely trending upwards for him, but the guy obviously has good stuff. Sometimes his change is downright evil There was a reason he was a pretty highly rated prospect when he was in the Yankees system. He has the stuff to be a decent ML pitcher.
  2. Gotta enjoy winning against Cleveland after what happened last year. Also: Hector Noesi now has a 4.33 ERA and 4.38 FIP with the Sox in 35.1 innings. Both Rienzo and Noesi are giving the team a chance to win their starts and that's all you can really ask for from your #4 and #5.
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 28, 2014 -> 11:05 AM) Also, at the end of the day, I still make the Addison Reed trade, WHICH WAS MY ENTIRE POINT IN THE FIRST PLACE. Addison's a good pitcher, but his pitching motion sucks, he's somewhat inconsistent, and he has issues with the home run ball. He wasn't flawless, not even close and when you can get a good 3B prospect for him in what was thought to be a lost year, along with a few guys in the bullpen that could pitch just as well, if not better, than him (Webb and Jones), then I don't see why you wouldn't trade him.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 28, 2014 -> 06:56 AM) I'm not impressed by Watch Dogs in the least. Hold square and hack things, boom, entire game. The driving is brutal, you can't go from GTA 5 to this. It's inferior in every way, including graphics, despite being on the "next gen". Hold on, I need to hold square to hack something that just popped into my line of sight. It's very different than GTA. I've done missions where I've barely had to shoot people. You get a choice of stealth or going in guns-blazing, which I like. And while the hacking is simple, what did you want it to be? You can't possibly hack things during a car chase with something more complicated and have it still be playable. Things that are annoying with the game: 1) You can't shoot out of your window in a car, this leads to some horrible car chases. I usually have to end up running the guy I'm trying to kill over. 2) The collision physics are total garbage, but it does make the driving much more forgiving. 3) Getting interrupted with online hacking while you're about to go to a campaign mission is fairly annoying.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2014 -> 09:45 AM) That is going to hurt the ol street cred. Someone's going to bring this up on a diss mix tape, I guarantee it. But maybe 50 cent's no longer relevant enough to diss.
  6. OVA! We got a call on the last pitch, but oh well.
  7. Damn Pauley got robbed.
  8. Strong arm of Beckham.
  9. Aviles bailed us out of that inning.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2014 -> 12:05 AM) Eaton had a chance with a good throw, but once again, he spiked it into the ground. He also takes forever to release the damn ball since he does that little hop to get something behind it.
  11. Downs is terrible.
  12. Chisenhall now 7-13 off lefties.
  13. Has the forum been really slow for anyone recently? My pages fail to load quite a bit after I post.
  14. Chinsenhall hitting .500 off lefties so far this year, but only 12 PAs. Downs will probably face him to begin the 7th.
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 27, 2014 -> 11:47 PM) Wow do not roll the dice with Carroll anymore tonight. We have been super lucky. I have no idea how the Indians didn't score at least 5 off him.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 27, 2014 -> 04:48 PM) He tanked in 2006 and then fell out of the closer's role in 2007 but was overall still fairly good. He was damn near perfect in 2008, absolutely terrible in 2009, and then fairly good in 2010 and 2011 before seeing his career finally come apart. I get the feeling that Lidge didn't have the mental makeup most great closers had.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 27, 2014 -> 04:25 PM) Yea, seems like a bit of a waste of money for you guys. Our league refunds rain outs if they aren't made up, so they are trying to make sure they refund as little as possible We only get $20 as a team back and that's like 1/5 of what we actually pay per game.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 27, 2014 -> 03:25 PM) Our infields are artificial/field turf. Although a few local fields are converting to full field turf. Wheeling just redid everything They do that to prevent rain outs. Unless it is lightning, we play That's pretty awesome. It usually never rains in Austin, but it's going to rain for the entire week, I've already had 3 games cancelled this week.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 27, 2014 -> 02:38 PM) i got one last week too sliding into home. Artificial turf is just as unforgiving as dirt You guys play on artificial turf?
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 27, 2014 -> 02:24 PM) The dagger of all daggers I thought at the time. Except Houston came back in the next game and won the series, lol. If anything, it just ruined Brad Lidge.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ May 27, 2014 -> 02:12 PM) I wear shorts. I don't leave my feet. Maybe head first to beat a tag, but otherwise, nope. lol the one time I slid head first, I got a strawberry on my knee, my chest, my stomach, and my arm. And I also wore a white shirt that day, so that shirt was forever ruined.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 27, 2014 -> 02:04 PM) I dont want Abreu anywhere near the ASG including the HR derby. Stay home big man. It would be quite a show though. I saw Abreu hit two balls out of the stadium at Minute Maid (like the Pujols homer off Lidge in 05) during BP.
  23. Let's get back to .500 again. If there's one team Chris Sale hasn't pitched well against, it's the Indians. 3-4 4.76 ERA in 62.1 innings.
  24. QUOTE (TRU @ May 27, 2014 -> 12:16 PM) Welp, another two games Sunday and another 4 total at bats. We lost the first game 10-0, got called after the 5th. Lost the second game 14-4 also called after the 5th. I was a very disappointing 1-4 with a flyout at the fence and then 2 ground outs. On a side note, do any of you guys wear pants? I for some reason made the dumb decision to slide into third on our concrete like dirt and have that nasty road rash looking wound on my leg now. Its going to be too hot here soon to wear pants, I was thinking of some under armour compression legging things. That should at least minimize the damage from sliding. I wear baseball pants to games I care about where I might have to slide. And yeah, I've gotten a few strawberries from slides before, they're not cool.
  25. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ May 27, 2014 -> 10:43 AM) im sure now that it came out and he saw it, he regrets drinking that much lol sure hes not gonna hear the end of it in the clubhouse haha I'm sure Chris Sale is a lightweight. This is mostly likely him after 2-3 beers.
