  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 30, 2013 -> 08:45 AM) Ugh, that is the point, my young padawan... Maybe you missed my sarcasm. And like it or not, people DO care about phones. If they didn't, they wouldn't have one. Stop acting like you're the cool guy in the room. This is a thread about technology. If you're not willing to deal with people who obsess over a expensive electronic toy, then don't bother.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 09:08 PM) Oh for certain! I'm sure you get ALL the chicks with it... lol when was the last time anyone picked up a chick because of a smartphone? I'm anxiously waiting to hear about how your iPhone has gotten you laid at least 15 times.
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 09:49 PM) Butler is going to keep getting better, no doubt in my mind. It'd be so damn nice if Boozer could consistently score against Miami but I have no reason to believe that's going to happen. It depends on who's on him. He absolutely dominated Anderson and Haslem tonight. And Butler is going to be the difference maker this year, that's for sure. If he turns into a guy who'll get you 15-17 a night while shooting efficiently with great defense, then I think I like the chances of the Bulls winning it all. Of course, that's assuming Rose stays healthy and returns to form. And I'm just putting this out there. I said that Butler reminded me a lot of Leonard last year. Now I'm thinking his ceiling is last year's version of Paul George.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 09:25 PM) Speechless. Right when they're trying to comeback. The funny thing is that Crawford initially called offensive foul and then changed his call.
  5. Butler had a hell of a game. Boozer was absolutely owning as well. It's too bad literally nobody else showed up. Losing Butler and Deng to early foul trouble really f***ed the Bulls. Oh well.
  6. Joakim better be hurt. Because he's awful right now.
  7. How is Chalmers getting these calls?
  8. Damn Hibbert's got 7 blocks.
  9. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 08:18 PM) Terrible. They'll both make shots, Dunleavy is just off and Snell just as he was the first preseason game looks extremely nervous. The good thing is that it's only game 1 of 82, but none of this is very encouraging.
  10. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 07:03 PM) <!--quoteo(post=2884121:date=Oct 29, 2013 -> 06:20 PM:name=chw42)-->QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 06:20 PM) <!--quotec-->Aww, don't get all mature on us just because the iPhone can't do it. Would probably be cool if it wasn't something we were doing in 1995. Hey, I like the ability to change the channel at the bar if the bartender's too busy. I don't care if that was cool in 1960.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 07:32 PM) Mine does. It's essentially a harmony all in one. You can't do it to other TVs that isn't connected to whatever system you have in your house though. The IR blaster is a really cool thing to have.
  12. Tony Snell and Mike Dunleavy were so f***ing bad.
  13. f*** the whole team was awful besides Boozer.
  14. Let's get this game started already.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 06:54 PM) So, would Howie Kendrick sweeten the pot enough for you? I then become sketpical that Santiago or Q is enough, though. Depends how much they care about losing Kendrick's salary. I think we'd have to give up Q to get Kendrick, which I'm definitely not willing to do.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 11:19 AM) LOL. I absolutely did NOT forget Detroit. That team will struggle to score points. Honestly, who is going to score points? They'll get some work around the basket, but no one on that team can shoot. Josh Smith might shoot 35% with the looks he's been jacking up. I have zero thought that Detroit will be any good this season. Teams will also have trouble scoring on them. Yes, they're going to be extremely inefficient with Jennings and Smith, but they also have guys like Monroe and Drummond who will put up very good TS% and grab boards for them.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 10:56 AM) Both at .306 for their careers. He doesn't walk, and he strikes out a lot. He may be worth a try, but he's a 4th or 5th OF right now. His price tag should match that. If that is what Santiago is worth, fine. But I think most here thing that would be a little low. I don't think it's fair to say that Bourjos is a .306 OBP guy when he's showed he can put up a ~.330 with regular playing time. His glove alone would be worth 1.5-2 wins, not to mention his value on the base paths.
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 04:33 PM) Google Hangouts to start rolling out with SMS integration and other new features today I read somewhere that Mavericks was going to make it more difficult to use non-iCloud services. Is that right? I just want them to integrate Google Voice into Hangouts. I guess SMS is step 1, hopefully step 2 will come soon enough.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 01:12 PM) And cool if you were like...13 Aww, don't get all mature on us just because the iPhone can't do it.
  20. QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 01:20 PM) The state isn't as ultra-conservative as you may think. Cities like San Antonio and Austin are actually very liberal, as is almost the entire border region. There is much discussion as to when, not if, the state flips to Dem again. The usual answer is 2-5 years. I wouldn't be surprised after the next election to have a Dem governor and senator. If Wendy Davis likes guns, there's a chance she will get elected governor.
  21. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 02:57 PM) Just moved down here and it's different than I imagined, a lot less conservative. Well if you're in a more urban or suburban area, nobody's going to push tea party values you out in the open.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 04:08 PM) Had an opportunity for a job down there and passed it up. So glad I wound up in Washington state instead. I honestly don't think I could be happy in an ultra-conservative state like Texas. That and the unbearable heat from April through September were the biggest turn offs. Austin's pretty damn liberal. Although I usually refrain from talking to anyone I meet about politics and social issues (that's usually the rule anywhere anyways).
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 10:44 AM) Bourjos gets on base at the same clip as Viciedo, although he is good with the glove. If you don't like Adam Dunn's game, I can't see how you would like Trumbo. I do think the Sox would trade Santiago. There is something going on there that makes me think they aren't very high on his future. I don't know what other teams think. Viciedo had a .333 OBP last year? In the only year Bourjos got nearly full-time PT, he had a .335 wOBA and played great defense. I think he's worth a try.
