Still two timeouts left. If we can get a good return, then there's still a slight chance.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 2, 2012 -> 01:11 PM) It was enough to knock Jennings to the ground. How much does it take to warrant a call? It wasn't blatant enough for the refs to realize it. Jennings could have just tripped.

Tate pushed off (wouldn't be the first time), but I don't think it was enough to warrant a call.

That was a perfect throw to Bennett by Cutler. Don't know how you drop that.

Winning powerball ticket might have come from KC Royals player numbers
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 1, 2012 -> 11:41 PM) http://www.kansascity.com/2012/11/27/39372...o-increase.html Looks like the fans will be turning on Glass if he's not willing to add one more legit starting pitcher. About time... First the Chiefs and now the Royals. Looks like the people of KC are getting a bit impatient.

The First Annual Steve9347 b**** about your Fantasy Teams here
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 30, 2012 -> 01:03 AM) Kaepernick. Never a doubt. I'll take your word for it. This is for a first round bye, so you better be right.

So what type of 3rd baseman do we need?
Well, you'd obviously not like to have two guys who can set the single season strikeout record in the same lineup...but Mark Reynolds got non-tendered. His defense sucks and he's the right handed version of Adam Dunn...but he's better than anything we have right now. With how scarce 3B are on the FA market, Reynolds may be a viable option if we can't bring back Youk.

Job Hunt Thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 1, 2012 -> 03:10 AM) I think you'll like it. If you are single, make sure you make time to engulf yourself in the music scene. Some beautiful people down there. I cant believe you can't get a job in chemical engineering field. What is going on? It depends on where he went to school. But even then, you'd think he would have found something by now. Chemical engineering is one of the hardest majors in the college of engineering for almost every school. Employers do view internships as important. But honestly, you don't do jack in most internships. There's simply not enough time for the company to give you anything too difficult or lengthy. So in the end, you get stuck with some project nobody else wanted to do and your contributions end up being minimal. Companies love it if you do have internship experience, but it's overrated and shouldn't be used as an indication of your abilities.

Sox looking at low-end starter, trading Floyd

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 30, 2012 -> 01:21 PM) Yeah, I just saw that... something is wrong Jerry Crasnick @jcrasnick Tommy Hanson's average fastball velocity from FanGraphs: 92.7 mph in 2010, 91.2 in 2011, 89.7 in 2012. #braves #angels Hanson changed his mechanics for the better last year, which may have had something to do with the velocity drop. Nevertheless, his mechanics just aren't good, even after he's tweaked them.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 30, 2012 -> 12:12 PM) Wow, I didn't realize the Braves were this down on him already. His velocity dropped almost 2 MPH last year. Bad mechanics, injury waiting to happen.

Sox looking at low-end starter, trading Floyd
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 30, 2012 -> 01:59 AM) That would be one of the worst moves they could make. Hochevar is a big whatever, who cares, jesus I hope he's not expensive but he's worth a shot. It would depend upon what they'd get for Floyd. I wish there was a way to write queries on Baseball-Reference. I was trying to extract pitchers that were drafted in the first round on current AL Central teams. Instead, I just looked up a list on Wikipedia. Possible candidates: Kyle Waldrop Luke Hochevar David Huff Rick Porcello Jake Odorizzi It's mostly likely Hochevar.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Nov 30, 2012 -> 12:03 AM) Luke Hochaver? ew. Gimme some BMac. Hochevar's pretty bad. But his K/BB isn't that bad. He just tends to serve up homers, which just doesn't work at the Cell and doesn't make much sense either since he's typically a ground ball pitcher.
