  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 08:59 AM) Reviews say not so good for working on because sweat shorts them out. It depends on how much you sweat. Mine are still working fine to this day and I've had them since 2010. I guess the only bad thing with Bluetooth anything is that if you plan on using this with a lot of devices, pairing is a b****, especially if those devices just happen to be in the same area as all your other devices. Plus, even though A2DP is pretty decent, it still makes a high pitch noise when there is nothing playing through the headphones. Kind of annoying. Other than that, these have been worth the $30 I spent on them.
  2. Seeing the highlights of the Tigers winning and celebrating pissed me off so much. That should have been the Sox. Couldn't beat the f***ing Royals.
  3. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 03:19 PM) I picked him up at like 10 30am yesterday but decided to play Sidney Rice over him, luckily I also have Roddy White and Matt Ryan. I was deciding between Hartline, Jones, and Walter. Of course, I picked Walter and got .8 points. I still won though. Roddy White FTW.
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 04:39 PM) I'm in the market for some nice headphones. Sick of my iPhone ear buds, though they're better than much of the $5 crap. The reason I don't like on-ear is because the headband always messes up my hair Try behind the neck bluetooth headphones. I got one from Motorola two years ago. Great for working out and hands-free calling (not in a car obviously). Will also work splendidly on your computer if your bluetooth adapter isn't crappy.
  5. Ok, now it's a blowout. The Bears made a statement today.
  6. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 10:11 PM) Lol, espn was pimping Romo as a "great QB." Nope! John Gruden loves every freaking QB.
  7. Nice play by Moore. Romo's bad.
  8. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 09:50 PM) Ugh, Forte is worthless right now 10 carries and 45 yards isn't awful.
  9. This is a really tough call to overturn. It's hard to tell if Jeffrey had his elbow down before he lost possession of the ball.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 09:17 PM) f*** Bruce Chen f*** the Royals. They play us like the 27 Yankees and they lay down for the Tigers to kill.
  11. This f***ing team... Once they were pretty much eliminated, they score as many runs as they scored all of last week. What a bunch of mental midgets.
  12. It's a good thing the Cowboys tend to f*** everything up themselves. The Bears haven't played good D today at all.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 02:24 PM) Isn't that who he ultimately replaced? Because Q was up before Danks went down for good. So many pitchers got hurt that I don't know what happened anymore. But I think Q would have ended up replacing Floyd and not Humber (since Floyd was hurt).

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 02:23 PM) Our interviews are almost entirely based on nonsensical questions like that. HR questions? What industry does your company work in and are guys hiring right now?
  15. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 01:43 PM) Yeah, but then we roll with Peavy-Buehrle-Sale-Quintana-Floyd most of the year. Also, we get some nice prospects for Danks. Quintana might have never gotten a chance then. Maybe when Humber started sucking, but that would have been a lot later in the year.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 02:00 PM) Glazer reporting that Forte is playing My opposition has Bush, but I'm up 26. So it doesn't really matter either way. Bush would have to score 3 TDs for him to get even close (although this most likely means we will win if that happens).
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 02:00 PM) 4 year extension for Thibs! 'Bout f***ing time.

Just finished my phone interview with Google. I did well on 2/3 questions, but couldn't finish the question I struggled with. Hopefully, that's good enough to at least get me to Mountain View for a interview. BTW, coding on Google docs is awful.

QUOTE (G&T @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 04:24 PM) My understanding is that the brain teasers aren't allowed anymore. They have to ask more focused questions. I doubt that makes it any easier. The good thing about brain teasers is that you can BS your way around them a bit. If you don't know a technical question, you really can't BS for too long before they know you don't know how to do it. Plus, it's always easy to dig your head into some brain teaser book and study those for a day. It's easy to memorize some of the answers. Algorithms and data structures though? You can't remember every one of those questions, you actually need to know them. Even though brain teasers could make interviews easier, I find them to not represent what an software developer/engineer will do on the job, which is why I think they're really bad questions.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 07:07 PM) I've heard some good stories about trading shops such as Enron back in the day. There wasn't much of a formal interview. It was more a test of brain teasers or riddles, followed by some social interaction designed to determine how well one might fit into their culture. They could have cared less how you answered questions such as "Describe a conflict you were involved in and how you solved it." Does anyone really care how you answer HR questions these days? As long as you don't come out sounding like you're an arrogant psychopath, I don't think they care. I'm talking from a technical job perspective.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 09:59 AM) IIRC, they weren't even really brain teasers. They were just odd questions to see how you would answer them. One was something like "If you were only 1 inch tall and trapped inside a blender that was about to be turned on. What would you do?" After some research...Google's engineers aren't allowed to ask these anymore, which is good.
  22. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 01:20 AM) I want one who can drive in runs, creates intentional walks, doesn't fan more than his average. HRs look nice on the back of baseball cards. Part of the problem is Kenny probably looks at the back of baseball cards to make decisions. Adam Dunn leads the team in RBI, he leads the team in walks (and probably intentional walks as well). The only thing he doesn't meet is the fact he can't hit for average. Yeah, it sucks to have a #3 hitter hitting .205. But he's also got a .270+ ISO and a walk rate of 16%. I think the solution is to not bat Dunn 3rd. Hit him 5th or 6th next year until he can get the batting average up to at least .230. If his OBP isn't around .370, it's really not worthwhile to hit him 3rd.
  23. QUOTE (Real @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 01:14 AM) the only reason we aren't going to the playoffs sale and quintana are past their innings limits and they're probably beyond dead arms the veterans choked, plain and simple this hasn't got anything to do with NL talent or scouting (unless it's scouting the opponent that you're playing that particular series) now, this thread could explain why the team only has 83 wins right now, but it doesn't explain the collapse. the collapse is because we have veteran players who cannot play in pressure situations, and they never will until certain people are gone from this roster/staff (Coop had his issues last year with certain players and coaches, and I'm tired of his schtick to be honest, and AJ has rubbed a lot of his teammates the wrong way from what I've heard this year) alexei ramirez definitely needs to be dealt, his career is starting to look like Iguchi's once the league figured him out. guys like Beckham need to be considered as well. too much money invested in Rios and Dunn (another f***ing choker). Dunn will be moved if an offer comes along, I would bet money on that. Way too much money invested in that dude, same with Rios Peavy's salary coming off the books will help going into next year, but this front office is going to have to really turn this team around if they plan on competing with the tigers next year personally I think Detroit runs away with it in 2013 Adam Dunn hit probably the biggest home run of the season at the time he hit it. He's also hurt right now with a side problem. I wouldn't call him a choker.
