Indians @ White Sox 1:05pm CSN-HD
So much for winning this game. Another one of those that got away. When you lead 3-0 going into the 5th, you should win.

Is Dye being traded for Rios???
Greg was actually serious? I thought a guy with 9,000 posts would know that Dye sucks in the outfield.

I've never been happier to see Dotel.

It amazes me how much this pitching staff sucks at finishing off hitters after getting ahead, especially today.

Indians @ White Sox 1:05pm CSN-HD
When you're having trouble getting Andy Marte out, you know you suck.

Linebrink BLOWS.

Indians @ White Sox 1:05pm CSN-HD
It's either score a lot in the 8th or lose the game now.

Wow, I just saw that Jamey Caroll homered off Linebrink. God damn Liney, you suck.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2009 -> 03:14 PM) Sometimes you just got to tip your cap to a tough left handed pitcher like Huff. Haha.

How many more starts does Jose get?
Why can't Coop and A.J. tell Jose to stop throwing forkballs when he can't get them over? The reason why he was so successful in the first 4 innings of the game was because he was getting ahead of hitters by throwing fastballs in good locations early in the count. He didn't have a good forkball all day.

White Sox Winner!!!!!!!!
This umpiring crew does blow. What happened to Q tonight on that hit by pitch that wasn't called was crap. Same goes for what happened to PK last night when the ball bounced and hit him. Some of these guys are blind.

Is Dye being traded for Rios???
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 09:54 PM) Why is it a joke to you that I take exception to you calling Dye's defense "atrocious." It's just not. Because it's genuinely funny.

Is Dye being traded for Rios???
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 09:54 PM) He's not a great outfielder, but he's not "horrendous" either. Some people would love it if we could switch players every month. Guys are easy to take for granted. How could anybody blast Dye? Ingrates. No, he's really bad. He takes good routes to most balls, but when he screws up even a little bit, bad things will happen. He has trouble with line drives hit a bit over his head. When he runs towards the line for a ball, he's so slow getting there it's hard to watch. He makes some nice plays in front of him, but that's because he's had some experience before on those and because he doesn't need to do much running. Dye NEEDS to be a DH next year. In fact, he should be one now. He's been one of the worst OF in baseball since 2005. The knee injury really screwed him over defensively.

Is Dye being traded for Rios???
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 09:51 PM) I don't care what his UZR is. He's a f***ing stud and not an "atrocious" defender. YOu probably want us to trade Dye for Rios. You probably didn't want Dye in right field during our WS season. Give me a break please with the word "atrocious." He may be average out there but he's not f***ing atrocious. I hope this is a joke post. I really do.

Is Dye being traded for Rios???
QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 09:39 PM) He has a combined -74.7 UZR over the last 3 and a half seasons in RF. He's an atrocious defender. It's unfortunate that people listen to Hawk's crackpot opinions because he's wrong a large majority of the time. It really is. Dye's been horrendous and it's quite obvious too. Just because he makes nice catches after running in place for 3 seconds doesn't mean he's a great outfielder.

Josh Hamilton + Alone + ASU Campus
Is that why he's hitting .235?

Confirmed: White Sox claim on Alex Rios on waivers
QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 08:36 PM) Imagine the fanbase reaction to letting go of Rios for nothing.... The smart ones would want it to happen. The casual ones will b**** and moan.

Is Dye being traded for Rios???
Toronto wants to dump salary, not replace it.

Confirmed: White Sox claim on Alex Rios on waivers
QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) No one is going to pay Podsednik $7-8 million next year. Maybe if it was a short term deal with a lot of incentives.

Confirmed: White Sox claim on Alex Rios on waivers
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 12:52 PM) Are you really comapring Dotel to Figgins? Figgins entire games revovles around his legs. Once that goes, he doesn't really have a spot in the major leagues. 35 year old speedsters making 7-8 million a year isn't a very good investment. Well, that might be what some team will be paying Scott Podsednik next year. Is that smart, too? Kenny Lofton played effectively in his mid 30s. Figgins should still have around 2-3 more good years left in him.

Confirmed: White Sox claim on Alex Rios on waivers
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 12:46 PM) They would run Lind-Wells-Snider in the OF, with Dye being the DH. You know what, I'll take that back. That's a HORRIBLE outfield defensively.

Confirmed: White Sox claim on Alex Rios on waivers
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 12:03 PM) Figgins is 32 years old and will likely be looking for a 4 year deal worth around what Juan Pierre got in '07. Do you really want to pay a 34 or 35 year old Chone Figgins $8M-$10M annually? I said the same thing about Dotel. He hasn't been that bad. He's not getting paid as much, but still, Figgins can still play. In this economy, he probably won't get what he wants anyways unless Kenny tries to recruit him like a college football coach. I'd say 3 years $21-24 million should get it done.

I wouldn't be able to stand watching JD's old legs getting ruined on turf. If Toronto's smart, they would DH him.

BTW, aren't Kenny and Riccardi friends? I think I read that somewhere in Money Ball.
