If the White Sox...
I'd still be a fan, but I don't know if I'd stay as diehard... I'd probably slowly wither into some sort of Cub-hating, Cardinal sympathizer.

Corwin Malone.........
Well control-wise, Malone has already had 2 years were he's walked an inordinate amount of people and a year where he didn't and it appears he's well on his way to #3. I don't care how many tools a guys got, if he's walking people, he's no good in my book. That said, I hope Corwin turns it around, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Corwin Malone.........
I think it's he's just had a good year, everyone thought he was something, and now you all realize he's a dud. Happens all the time.... See Miles, Aaron for a good example.

The sox may have
Sure there is... In two words, it's... He sucks.
-
The sox may have
People still chirp for Aaron Miles... f***ing ridiculous. Oh, Alomar sucks ass, too.

Who pitches the 9th?
Speed's not his problem. Using a radar gun to determine a pitcher's ability is utterly ridiculous. Billy's problem is he throws very straight. Whether or not your chuckin' it 100+ MPH or 90-92, if you have no movement on your pitches someone is going to turn on you.

Crazy Promotion
Some other minor league team gave away free ties like a week after last year's All-Star game.

Who pitches the 9th?
Hmmmm... Joe Nossek doesn't put Billy Koch in the ninth inning... Sox hold a 2-run lead. Coincidence? I miss Keith.
-
Grossman!
Well, on the plus side, I won't have to worry about the Bears making any noise with that big QB duo of Slash Stewart and Rex Grossman. :puke

HSC
If he went to the guy Wright went to, he went to the best in the business. You can have a sore arm and have nothing show up on the MRI.
-
I hate Twins fans
The worst part about that is he's still got better numbers than our first baseman.
-
Who pitches the 9th?
Anybody but Billy Koch.
-
Marte warms
Nice inning by Marte. Let's get some runs so we don't have to see Koch get lit up again.

CUBS FANS
That would be some sweet irony.

N Korea admits to Nukes

Does anyone have info
He was originally an Angels prospect, drafted in 1999 in the 17th round out of Florida Southern University... I don't have the 2003 White Sox media guide yet 'cuz I haven't made it out to "The Cell," but according to last year's, it looks like he could be at least an interesting offensive prospect. In 2001 in Class A Rancho Cucamonga (Angels), he hit .297/.378/.435. Has a decent eye, I guess... Took 46 walks in 1999 (Class A Boise) in 292 PAs (compared to 42 Ks); 61 walks, 79 Ks, 483 PAs in 2001 at Class A Cedar Rapids, and 63 walks, 94 Ks in 545 PAs in Class A Rancho Cucamonga. Also may have some speed, 24 SBs, 9 CSs last year. Biggest asset is that he's a left-hander, but I don't know if he has enough power to play everyday in the outfield, and he's certainly got a crowded OF to contend with in Chicago... If he develops into a left-handed version of Aaron Rowand, I think we should all be pleasantly surprised. I think with Webster and Reed, though, we're set on outfield prospects with solid OBPs and not massive power.

Wow
Nice to see someone finally call out Konerko.
-
SOX
He was a big reason the team was so good in 2000, since he had been VP of player development since 1997.
-
N Korea admits to Nukes
Lucky for them they don't have any oil.
-
SOX
Ummm... He was in the organization in 2000... Pretty high level, too.

Here's what we gotta do...
If you honestly think Ginter and Almonte are that great of improvements over White and Gordon...
-
Message to Kenny Williams....
Normally, I'd like to agree, but I don't think we can blame Jerry for the lack of offense from guys like Maggs, CLee, and Konerko... That, and the bullpen is terrible. What's a manager to do with stiffs like Rick White and Tom Gordon in his 'pen?

We must take action...
Lets think for a moment. I cant think of a certain example but Ill just make one up. Lets say theres a man. And this guy gets mad at his wife while hes drunk. So he doesnt really think about it and bashes her over her head with a rum bottle (wait, that sounds a little like Sosa, well whatever). He made a mistake. Does that mean he shouldnt be punished? No, he should be put away. So Cooper made a mistake, lets fire him, he needs the punishment. You guys are talking about firing Manuel for his mistakes, so why cant Cooper be fired for his? You are comparing a man committing a criminal act against the woman he supposedly loves to an umpire making a bad call? Are you for real in this discussion man? If you are, I think you're blowing it WAY WAY out of proportion, but if you're not, it's pretty funny. Im comparing the husbands mistake to Coopers mistake. They were only mistakes but they deserve to be punished for them... God, either you're about 23 days late with this thread or you just don't have a clue, man.

Another person lacking initiative, care or determination. People like this piss me off... People with no functioning brain cells piss me off.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever read. Missing a home run and bashing your wife with a rum bottle are COMPLETELY different. I'd say apples and oranges, but even those are too closely related for how ridiculous it is to juxtapose the two. And, if you think firing a qualified MLB ump every for one f*** up will make things better, you'll be really pissed off when you have a bunch of underqualified umps missing waaaaaaaay more than one call every now and then.
