  1. The assholes at ABC were doing a piece on Corkgate and the bonehead reporter they had (not Giangreco, he actually took shots at Sammy). Anyways, the guy mentioned the last two players to get caught corked, Wilton Guerrero in 1997 and, in his words, "White Sox outfielder Albert Belle in 1994." :fyou CHICAGO SPORTS MEDIA. You are, by far, the worst in the nation. Why get facts right when you can just skew them. Assholes. I hate the Chicago sports media.
  2. I haven't been around that much lately (summer school... :puke)... Where are the links to the first 2 installments? I was really looking forward to reading this. Thanks, in advance.
  3. I don't think the Dodger uniforms of '59 are any different than they are today. Would be cool to see the Sox in the '59 black pinstripes with red, though.
  4. I bet he also didn't "mean" to use that rum bottle when he cracked it over his wife's head. "Accidentally" grabbed it, I'm sure.
  5. The only thing that made this more enjoyable was that I was eating dinner with my family (all Cub fans) while listening to WGN. Motherf***in' Priceless!
  6. I thought the was the whole premise for every war ever fought. And the existance of the Armed Forces (including your beloved United States Marine Corps). The door swings both ways, buddy.
  7. Didn't the Red Sox just let him go for nothing?
  8. I think it looks like a piece of s***. But as long as da Bears play there I won't mind.
  9. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn
  10. It'll be a cold day in hell when John Navarre wins a Heisman Trophy.
  11. Bla. The Princeton Review.
  12. I think it's official that Iowa State is the taint of the Big XII.
  13. NW = North Western? Someone correct me if I am wrong but in order to get into college you HAVE to take it, right? That's the way I remember it in 1990. Never went to college, woudn't know anything about NW admission process. I am gonna ask her... I got accepted to Northwestern University and I don't ever remember applying there (nor did I ever write a check for the admission's fee). And I never took the SATs... Seemed like everyone who did well on the ACTs didn't do as well on the SATs and vice versa. That and I didn't apply to any schools outside of the Midwest.
  14. of the year? I can't remember being so utterly and completely ashamed to be a Sox fan since the White Flag Trade in 1997. This is just God awful.
  15. That at bat he had in the third, he took some nice, nice cuts. Too bad everyone around him is terrible.

LOL... Paul Shuey for Ricardo Rodriguez? Sounds good!
  17. Boston, Seattle, Chicago
  18. Wolverine? He's a god damn mutant... Should be exterminated.
  19. Hate to burst your bubble, but the following guys you mentioned are not legit prospects. They are either Minor League vets or marginal prospects... Brumbaugh - AAA/AAAA guy Gload - AAA/AAAA guy Miles - Still has to be considered marginal. He is doing everything he can to change that, but there will still be skepticism until he proves it in the Majors. Many guys with similar talents make it, have a colid year or two and then fade back into AAAA status. He still has a great chance and is doing exactly what he needs to do. Aceves - organizational guy/backup catcher type Alvarez - was a prospect in 97 and spent parts of 98-00 in the bigs with Detroit and San Diego. Bikowski - Marginal. Solid average hitter with a decent amount of walks but not much power at all. He's a solid outfielder with a decent arm. Overall, his skills are good, but not great. To make it, he'll have to keep getting better and hit so well that they can't keep him down. There are lots of guys in AAA with his talents that never make it. He has a chance, but he won't be near the top of any prospect lists. He is also 26 and repeating AA which is not in his favor. Holt - Marginal at best. He is 24 and back in Class A after AA last year. He strikes out way too much and doesn't walk much. You could say he is almost Borchard without the upside and doing it at 2 levels below. Martel - Don't know a lot about him, but his numbers don't favor him. He's 24 and still in A ball. Has no power and doesn't look like a lot of speed. Only has 69 AB's this year, so either he is playing part-time or has been hurt. Reed - From all indications he is the first real position player prospect on this list. He is tearing up high A in his first full professional season. He should get bumped to AA after the first half of the season. If he excels in AA, he should jump right onto the fast track. Very much a pure hitter from I have been told. Stats do nothing but back that up. Yan - His only drawback is he is repeating High A right now. He's only 21 so he still has time. He should be dominating at W-S since he is repeating it, but increasing his average over 100 points so far is impressive. He really should be in AA right now (don't get me started on Schaffer). If he continues and doesn't drop back into the .250 range then he'll have a legit shot to be a nice Major League player. He doesn't walk enough at this point to support an average in the .250 range so he'll need to keep it up. Julio Reyes - Don't really know much about him except that he has never played more than a half season. Played only 55 games last year at Kanny. He is hitting very well right now, so I won't try to grade him. Webster - Have never seen him, but everyone seems to rate him highly and his numbers don't make you want to think differently, so he has to be considered a legitimate top level prospect at this point. This is a very good analysis of that list. Reed and Webster are the only two legit prospects on that list; Yan and Holt are marginal.
  20. because we dont have any other band wagon to be on........lol............ Then can we just develop Jimenez, a guy who at least has a pretty decent upside?
  21. This is intelligent. So who do you suppose we'd get to play third base? Jeez, if it was up to you we would have dumped half the team by now. Robin Ventura batted .249, OBP of .324 and hit 5 homers in his first full season with the Sox. Good thing you're not ever going to be in charge of a baseball team.
  22. miles only has 3 errors thus far.. about the same as dj??? i think so.........so they are pretty evenly matched.. only miles isnt lazy........... Miles = no defense.
  23. Blaming one guy for this loss is idiotic.... There were sooooo many missed opprotunities. Oh, God, you guys are back on the Jesus Miles Bandwagon again?
