god, the MLB is run by such a bunch of f***ing idiots.

For a month? Jesus, they'll be laughing for decades.

We'd better get something really solid for Garland because he's going to flourish with St. Louis.
-
doublem... My initials (MM), 23 for the greatest Chicago sports player to ever don the number... Robin Ventura.
-
I live about 12 miles away from "The Cell," but alas... No money. I do find some to spend at the games when the Sox are good... Seems like I went to 1-2 games a week in 2000.

Decent ballclub? Are you talking about the Sox? That and its been pretty cold.
-
Ummmmmmmmmmm... You just don't blow up a nuclear bomb and everything takes care of itself.
-
Maybe they're afraid of success because they'll have nothing to b**** and moan about... Oh, wait... The "Man" is keeping Aaron Miles, AKA Roberto Alomar II down in AAA. There'll always be that.

If Konerko's playing in that much pain he's a stupid, stupid, STUPID man.

Frank and Ray Durham aren't of this new batch of prospects, that, in most cases has been pretty much all hype with very little on field performance... Outside of Mark and Maggs the Sox have had a real problem with developing consistent starters for the big league team. Lee, for as good as he can be, still lacks baseball fundamentals, Wells was traded away after two less than expected seasons and a now a month into what was supposed to be his break out year, Garland is on the verge of demotion to the bullpen or AAA. Too early to judge Wright, but over his career, he's been inconsistent. It is also to early to judge as to whether Joe Crede will be the stud we all hoped he will be, though, I fully expect him to be a consistent .275/25/100 guy in a lineup capable of being as good as we are. Rauch will hopefully bounce back, but he's no negative as he will go down as the victim of injury rather than burst hype if he fails. After that, the rest of the "youngsters" we have seen are all products, or at least semi-products of other teams: Konerko, Olivo, Singleton, Jimenez, etc. That, and the #1 picks since the days of Alex Fernandez, Frank Thomas, Jack McDowell, and Robin Ventura have been lacking with busts like Mark Johnson, Jason Dallaero, Scott Ruffcorn... Bla, bla, bla... Hopefully Kris Honel, Joe Borchard, and Royce Ring can turn that tide again. Overall, the Sox are a competent scouting and developing team. The real problem with them lies in the inability of the front office to target and correct problems at the Major League level. From the years between 1994-2001 the Sox did nothing to try and rebuild their rotation from mediocrity except for the famous Doug Drabek/Jaime Navarro signings. Miguel Olivo may FINALLY give us a solid MLB catcher, but we are still incredibly weak here, not only at the Big Show, but throughout the whole organization. Center field? Forget about it. You know that a team is struggling there when they have to promote Willie Harris to the role. White Sox baseball.... We don't know what the f*** we're doing.

Jason is 100% correct... Problem isn't that we have bad prospects, problem is we rush them (see Wells, Kip and Garland, Jon) and give them crappy coaches.

I thought in FoxNews land the cause of all evil was the Islams and liberals.
-
You really need to chill out, man.
-
What the f***? Since I'm mired in finals, I've been a little out of the loop of Sox news, but I thought he was supposed to step down like two or three days or so.
-
To get an average player from Oakland, Kenny is going to have to cough up Maggs, Mark, Borchard, Kris Honel, and some other PTBNLs.
-
Edwin Almonte already had a shot at the Majors and the Sox didn't like his style so they already gave up on him. His name was Keith Foulke, oh, and he was a helluva lot better than Almonte.
-
Jimenez can probably stand on the other side of the plate, too, that doesn't mean he's going to hit anything.

I think it's either Jesus or a fundamentalist Muslim terrorist.

Oh God... Lee in left, Harris in center... I feel the ulser forming already.

How do you know homosexuality isn't a natural check against overpopulation? Anyways, moving back to the baseball-ity of this thread, when I played ball in high school we had an open homosexual on the team and no one ever had problems with him. I just don't understand why people get so uppity about it, but hey... Maybe that's just me.

Me bmr. Me club me food with big stick. Me no believe in science. Bible say AIDS gay disease and Bible only truth in world. All people who think science is truth are dumb.

I don't remember the Redbirds putting on a spectacular display of basketball prowess last year either, missy. At least we managed to beat the 'Dawgs.
-
Yeah, but it's not hard beating up on some of the teams in the Missouri Valley.

As a visitor to the city, I thought the Cows on Parade was a pretty cool thing. It was definitely unique and added flavor to the downtown area, where I spent most of my time. I wish they would keep the bobbleheads up longer, because I doubt I can get to Chicago before August or September. You obviously weren't around for the wildly successful ping pong tables they put up all over the city... I'll hear nothing against the ping pong tables... We had one at my high school and it was kickass. As for the bobbleheads, I think they'd be a good idea if they weren't so damn goofy looking.

I got to find a good instructional book or DVD on yoga... The pilates is crazy good, though.
