Braves Acquire Dan Uggla
The Marlins ownership continues their reign of terror with another disastorous return from a salary dump. Just what the hell was the thought process here?

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) Justin Upton is available and the Boston RedSox are first in line. per Jon Morosi I would be more then willing to open negotiations with a package around John Danks. That's how much i value a player with the potential of Justin Upton.

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 03:52 PM) So Phillies hired Ryne Sandbarg to manage their AAA team. It's a pretty clever move by the Phillies. There's a bit of irony in Sandberg finally contributing to the Phillies in some way.

Slight change in road gray unis
I'd have to say that the black tops are my favorite. I always find the gray ones to be drab.

Slight change in road gray unis
I don't like it much either. It's a simple change but a needless one.

White Sox Off-Season Catch All Thread
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 14, 2010 -> 08:49 AM) So far, we have reports of the Sox interest in Soriano, a top FA, repped by Boras, and of the possible availability of Gordon Beckham. KW had his leakers get everyone on the wrong scent it appears. I really hope so. I'd hate to find that our offseason priorities are shopping our superstar of the future and overpaying for a closer. I don't think they are, but i'm just saying.

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
The Padres have a nice crop of toolsy OF's. It'll be interesting to ee if any of them can apply their skills to Petco Park.

Alexei Ramirez wins AL Silver Slugger
It's a damn shame that Alexei didn't get the gold glove too. He had a hell of a year and i hope he keeps improving.

Mercowski, Merkowsky, Murkowsky
By law, i think Miller is in the right here. Even if you factor this in, i think Murkowski still takes it.

Who is going to be our best starter next season?
I think it's Danks. I think Floyd is always going to have the better stuff, but Danks takes to the mound with the right mindset every single time.

A's land DeJesus.
QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Nov 11, 2010 -> 08:42 AM) Let the offseason being This post ended up being a lot deeper then you expected it to be.

A's land DeJesus.
Billy Beane must be going out of his way to avoid traditional power bats at this point. Dejesus is good, but the A's have a dozen semi-comparable players.
-
A's land DeJesus.
The A's just sent Vin Mazzaro and Justin Marks over to the Royals for David Dejesus. As a Sox fan, you've got to love getting his bat out of the division. We always get spanked by Oakland anyway.

Minor League Free Agents
Gac puts up some numbers last year. I'd bring him back and put him in Birmingham.

Buehrle wins 2010 P Gold Glove
Awesome. This was pretty much written in stone after the first game, but still awesome.

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
Alderson just made Paul Depodesta his second-in-command for the Mets. I adore what they're doing this offseason. The "Moneyball" Mets has a nice ring to it.

Please just bring back Paulie
I've made my peace with whatever happens. I have strong concerns about giving Paulie too much money and too many years at this point in his career. Especially coming off a resurgent contract-year. Yet i can't deny that i've always wanted him to retire with the Pale Hose, so i'll just wait it out and see what happens.

Offseason gameplan
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 6, 2010 -> 06:14 PM) If the Sox do not retain AJ, Konerko or Jenks, I think it would be fair to officially put 2005 in the rear view. Enjoy the championship, but it will be time to start holding all accountable by what is going on now, not giving anyone a pass because of what happened 5 years ago. I think Buehrle would be the only one left unless Garcia re-signed. I really wouldn't mind wiping the slate clean. I cherish the memories that we've had with those three, but they're just memories at this point. I love Paulie, but i'm fearful of what overpaying him will do to our limited cap flexibility.

AJ's "intangibles"
QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) If we acquire John Buck to replace AJ I think I am going to scream. As far as the above, I don't know. He's been with the White Sox a long time and not been a cancer here. I'd think in the right situation he'll be fine again. s***, maybe he grew up a bit in that regard. Maybe there's a statute of limitations on being a clubhouse cancer. I would just give the job to Castro if he leaves rather than a John Buck, though. I'm not saying i want him but John Buck could probably hit 20-25 homers playing half of his games at the Cell. Also, anyone who questions the emotions of this team post-AJ hasn't met Mr. Jake Peavy.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (hitlesswonder @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 10:07 AM) I think he's already better than Rose. Much better defender, faster with the ball, better passer. If I had to choose between the two, I know who I would take. Rose is stronger, a more dynamic finisher at the rim, and actually has a consistent jumper. If Wall works on these next offseason, he might be able to bridge this gap.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
John Wall is all sorts of good. This is going to be a hell of a next decade for point guards.

Vizquel Back
Sweet deal. Just don't overplay him.

2010 World Series: Rangers vs. Giants
I'm really happy for Rowand and Uribe it's just awesome that their careers brought them here. Also, hell of a thing for Posey and Renteria. I wouldn't be suprised if Renteria retires and chooses to go out like this. That would be an ending fitting for the start.

What are your plans for Tank?
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 30, 2010 -> 06:51 PM) I'd like for Hot Fire to be able to take over 1B, but I really think he needs to be in AAA to start the next year. Still a lot of time for him to develop. You’re persistent with that one, I’ll give you that much.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 30, 2010 -> 10:19 PM) JJ has earned the SG spot. That guy is just made of tools. He has the work ethic to put it together too.
