  1. They’re very much in the driver’s seat for #1 spot
  2. Tauchman requested to stay due to his daughter’s health stuff. He’s arb eligible. Getz noted that a decision doesn’t have to be made yet. They can tender him and keep him or trade him before tender deadline. They have options. This is ridiculous and makes no sense. I was stunned that they’d pick up the option but Jeff Passan gave it some clarity. He said Robert would likely get a 1/15 deal this offseason as a free agent so 1/20 is fine for a team like the Sox essentially. Correct

Top 15 prospect in the system. Meidroth type with more pop.
  4. I still think he moves. I have no faith that they’ll actually pick up his option. I was just saying that if they bring him back and I’m wrong, the team is kind of set right now
  5. If Robert is on the team, it would be Benintendi and Tauchman on the corners with the young guys on the infield. This is the team.
  6. It’s not really #13 and #14 prospects. Pipeline isn’t updated. Cruz is #17 at BA. Good shortstop but 5% walk rate and no power in ACL. Franklin isn’t on T30 and was available to entire league in Rule 5 and nobody was interested. Great deal For Cubs imo.
  7. Yeah I can handle the nonsense. It bothers my wife though. People are assholes
  8. Back during the pandemic, my pregnant wife ordered Chili's on Cinco De Mayo (I know). I went to pick it up at the New Lenox location and they told me they were running behind and that it would be 20 minutes. I waited. The food never came. Then they quoted me a different time before they said they never in fact had our order. It was this big ordeal. I criticized them on twitter. Ever since then, there's a group of fine folks on twitter who have harassed me about Chilis and some had yelled it in person at games etc. I doubt this is accurate and I'm pretty sure it's some sort of homage to me on that fine day.
  9. I feel like Houser is a backup plan for most teams and the starting pitchIng market hasn’t moved at all Robert will move today or tomorrow. I doubt Tauchman does though
  10. I don’t expect Tauchman to move. Houser is likely the backup plan for multiple teams. No pitchers have been traded.
  11. It's interesting. His xWOBA is .321 with a .262 BABIP overall. The issue is that he's been atrocious vs RHP. He has a .241 BABIP vs righties but also a 46 wRC+ and .237 wOBA. He's murdered lefties with a 171 wRC+ and .418 wOBA.
  12. Hey! We agree on something.
  13. Isn’t it at least possible that Ryan Fuller and David Keller believe that something can be unlocked with Vientos? He’s 25 with 4 more years of control. I heard from a White Sox beat writer today that the prospect returns offered for Robert are pretty underwhelming. Could explain why they’re rumored to be on post-hype big league types
  14. Right but Sosa doesn’t replicate Vientos’ 2024 in his very best dreams
  15. That can’t be true. Soxtalk told me otherwise
  16. I’m got covering for anyone. You seem a little hostile though today. Maybe take a walk?
  17. Probably nothing. They very clearly didn't hear the names they would've wanted to for 4 years of Robert though. Nobody expected him to crater like this. Injury risk sure but not sure. It's humorous to me though that people on this board and elsewhere (in hindsight) think that the team should've traded Robert immediately but also believe that they shouldn't have traded Cease when they did. Pick a fucking lane.
  18. I don't think an equivalent to the Nationals/Eaton trade would've close to enough. I think the Sox would've needed like 3 top 100 prospects plus upside top trade 4 years of Luis Robert. I remember pushing back at the time and saying nobody would pay what he's worth after a 5 WAR season. Should they have traded him? It's easy to say yes now. I don't operate that way. We don't agree on this. I'm fine with that.
  19. I've been articulating why for months. You can't even tell me what you think they should've gotten in return that winter.
  20. We just don't agree. I'll drop it because I'll never agree with the alternate thought process. Chris Getz has done some things wrong. Not trading Luis Robert in the winter of 2023 just wasn't one of them.
  21. Agreed on this. I think you're too fixated on the reason why Getz was hired. He was hired because Reinsdorf is cheap and couldn't be bothered to go outside the organization. I'm guessing they just thought they could trade him for similar value later. That obviously looks like a mistake now but if they traded him after 2023, the deal wouldn't have been that great then either. You don't think Getz should've cared about that. I think that's fantasy land.
  22. It wasn’t about maximizing his value. Nobody was going to pay the price that 4 years of Robert should cost. I thought 3-3.5 years would’ve brought back a similar return. That was incorrect. I would’ve needed like 3 top 100 prospects to move 4 years of Robert. I doubt that was on the table. I mean it was 4 years of control on Robert and 2 years on Soto. Two completely different situations.
  23. I wouldn’t trade Tauchman unless the return is pretty solid.
  24. He wasn’t going to get value for Luis Robert at that time. It made much more sense to keep him into the season. They got burned. It happens unfortunately.
