  1. I think he’ll be in Kannapolis
  2. Cant our supposed President of Baseball Ops do that?
  3. He's on an innings limit though. So starting him with the big league club, using the 26 man roster spot and shutting him down early makes no sense. If there was an unlimited roster, I might agree with you. There isn't though.
  4. I mean usually I would agree with you in this case but not on Kopech or Vaughn this year. Starting Kopech with the big league club would be stupid.
  5. He didn't have a great relationship with Mickey Callaway in Cleveland
  6. It's not service time manipulation. It doesn't make any sense to start him in the majors on an innings limit.
  7. It absolutely makes sense. When your owner refuses to spend at the top of the free agent market, you can't trade 6 away 6 years of Kopech/Vaughn.
  8. I never said he was available. I said Sox have tried to get him. There’s a reason why they don’t have him. Madrigal/Heuer have been names mentioned in talks. That’s not enough. The Sox aren’t trading Michael Kopech or Andrew Vaughn and likely not Garrett Crochet for anyone. When your owner is Jerry Reinsdorf, you can’t trade potential stars. Probably. Players market though. I’ve heard Garrett Richards like you have. Quintana and Wainwright maybe as well. One year and $11 million for Drew Smyly messed with market though. I’m sure Sox want a 1 year deal at less than $10 million for a SP. Kopech will be in rotation at some point.
  9. Luis Castillo is a pipe dream. If the Sonny Gray trade talks are any indication, Castillo isn't actually available. At least, not for the Sox.
  10. They need Reinsdorf to approve the $$ though. That’s the point
  11. I have no idea how much $$ Reinsdorf is allowing them to spend so I’m really not sure
  12. It’d be great but this isn’t a front office decision.
  13. Nope. he'll sign this week
  14. He’s going to the Rockies but in next year’s class. Colas is waiting. He supposedly has $2.5 million next year if he waits. The Sox seem likely but that’s a long time from now.
  15. No shot. Don't believe anything sports executives say publicly.
  16. He was. And the White Sox starting catcher was #2
  17. Gil is actually an interesting guy. Similar to Cristian Mena who they signed last year.
  18. Not insinuating anything. Tomorrow is the deadline though so resolution on contract is coming
  19. FWIW: Harold told me this yesterday afternoon. There’s no reason to question his info.
  20. I still think signing a free agent is more likely but Corbin Burnes is definitely a “target”. Probably expensive though
  21. Not really sure. I just know they're talking.
  22. Yeah maybe. It won't happen with one of those guys though.
