  1. Yeah exactly
  2. We are doing prospect rankings this month at FutureSox. Today, Sean Williams leads us off with the top 10 outfield prospects in the system https://www.futuresox.com/2021/02/01/top-white-sox-prospects-outfielders/
  3. I disagree with this part. Way different sports. You can't win a title in the NBA without the best players and in the NFL in most cases, you have to have an awesome QB. Baseball isn't like that. The worst team can go on a heater for 3 weeks and win the whole thing. I understand the random variance argument. I just thin it's better for the long-term health of the sport that more teams are trying to win and expanded playoffs accomplishes that.
  4. Is there a way to have 7 playoff teams and give the top 3 byes? Then they’re all rewarded. 4v7 and 5v6. Then the winners of those face each other to see who plays the 1 seed. How long would 1-3 need to sit on this scenario?
  5. You guys think teams will spend less money. I think more teams will spend money.
  6. Yeah I understand what variance is. More teams will try to compete though with expanded playoffs. I don’t have the same doomsday thoughts that the MLBPA does. There will still be awesome teams regardless of how many of them are allowed in the postseason.
  7. The proposal says they’re getting paid for 162 still.
  8. Sure there is. 7 teams in each league. Being the top seed gets you a bye. Winning the division gets you home field advantage in the first round and last at-bats. How is that different than before?
  9. It’s all about money. On both sides. The owners don’t want to start the season without fans. The players aren’t doing an expanded playoffs without splitting that revenue. If they can’t agree to something, it’s different this year though. Season starts on time and they play 162 under the old rules. It’s pretty cut and dry.
  10. I don’t agree with this at all. Expanded playoffs leads to more teams trying. With 5 in each league, there will be much more tanking. What is the incentive for anyone in the NL West to try and win if it’s 5 teams per league? Why would the Phillies or Marlins add anymore at all? People agree with you but I don’t think it makes any sense
  11. I don't think this is true but I do agree that they'll be minor league deals. I think a catcher is coming still and possibly Folty and some versatile vet infielder/DH type on a minors deal.
  12. Rosenthal tweeted he’d be a starter. Rosenthal gets it right from KW
  13. Keep 3. They aren’t gonna sell low on Collins. He has no value right now.
  14. Who would be the 5th starter then? Makes no sense
  15. Who else are you expecting it to be?
  16. I don't think he would've signed to pitch out of the pen. He'll be the 5th starter to begin the year.
  17. I don't think the Sox could get Marquez without trading Vaughn
  18. I think he's real bad at math
  19. Adrianza signed with Atlanta
  20. Disagree there. They might have multiple guys like that.
  21. I don’t think they’re trading anyone nor should they. If Jerry isn’t gonna spend $$, the front office needs to depend on Madrigal, Vaughn, Kopech etc to create a 5-6 year window instead of a 3 year one by trading pieces away
  22. They haven’t even spent $30 million
  23. That's who they're talking about. I'd still be surprised though. They're throwing shit at the wall.
  24. I'd be surprised if they brought back Mazara. If it's a minors deal, it's fine. Nick Williams is basically the same guy though.
  25. Still the 3rd best team in their division though IMO
