  1. He has to say that. Loses all leverage in future trades otherwise.
  2. Thanks everyone! I appreciate you all listening and following along.
  3. It’s funny because Chuck actually talked to Badler after me. He knew he wasn’t gonna pitch after we talked.
  4. The international signing period starts on january 15. I detailed it here with info on the White Sox signings, rules, etc. https://www.futuresox.com/2020/12/29/2020-2021-white-sox-international-signing-preview/
  5. I joined Chuck Garfein on the show yesterday and talked Cespedes, Colas and Vera. He had Ben Badler on the show as well. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/white-sox-talk-podcast/id1162163703?mt=2
  6. Yeah that's a non-starter. They won't renege on those deals.
  7. The White Sox have $5,348,100 in their bonus pool. They are signing: Cespedes for $2 million (maybe more) Vera for $1.5 million Victor Quezada $525K Manuel Guarimon $475K Dario Barrero $350K Adrian Gil $250K Gabriel Rodriguez $100K Antonio Jimenez $90K That puts them at $5,290,00. My guess is Cespedes is getting the rest of that.
  8. No there is not. The White Sox do not have any money left in their bonus pool. They can't sign Oscar Colas with $$ in the upcoming period. He will have to wait until 2022 if he signs with the White Sox.
  9. What do you mean by float? Colas will work out in January. Clubs will pitch him with their available money. There's a chance that $1 million is the most he can get from anyone. The White Sox can absolutely say "if you wait, we'll give you $3 million in January 2022". That's not against the rules necessarily, they just can't announce it until January 2022. He could agree to a deal with Sox that becomes official in 2022 and then go live at the DR facility and play backfield games and workout. We'll see what he decides to do.
  10. Sure they can. Sox will have like $5.4 million to spend. They could offer him $5 million if they wanted to. They won't because he isn't worth that but they could.
  11. This is a good point. I'm guessing Galiz left because the Yankees were banking on acquiring international space from someone and now they can't do so.
  12. Well from what I know, Hendriks doesn’t have 4 year offers. The White Sox are very much in play. People need to be careful believing everything they read. Agents are doing work at this time of year.
  13. Why are people assuming that Sox won’t pony up for Hendriks? Nobody should assume that at this point
  14. There’s no chance that Musgrove would cost Madrigal.
  15. Agreed. He's not serious about winning though. He never has been.
  16. They are. The speculation is Sox had an agreement with Cespedes dating back months. Colas is now available as well but Sox weren’t going to renege on Cespedes agreement because Colas is now available.
  17. La Stella is an option depending on what else they do. Perfect fit. Probably more of a role elsewhere though. La Russa likes him from Anaheim. He’s gotten what he’s wanted so far. We’ll see.
  18. We’ll probably know where Colas is going regardless in January. If he commits to White Sox for 2022, he can go to DSL facility and play in Tricky League games as a member of org. Just not officially signed and can’t play at an affiliate. Probably not. Most teams probably have commitments for the following period as well. Sox usually have funds available due to how they play things.
  19. Here's what I know on Colas: He'll have a workout in January. There are some rumors that his team is desperate and they might take a shitty deal for this period but most people don't believe it. Nobody can even offer him $2 million on January 15. Nobody has it. If he waits 13 months, the White Sox are absolutely in. These kids got absolutely fucked by MLB and the PA though. Colas, Pino, Dyan Yamel etc are in a terrible spot. Cespedes would have signed this past July and been in the system. Yamel, Pino and Colas would've waited until J2 2021 and then entered systems. Now they have to wait until January 2022 and debut the following season. Really shitty situation overall.
  20. The only time Longenhagen has seen Cespedes play, he went 3-18 in the Can-AM League and had a long swing
  21. I think it depends on his birthday. He’s 14 I believe
