  1. Nobody knows. I’d love to know
  2. The Rays have the best pro scouting group in the league and a top 5 amateur scouting department. They make ruthless trades and don’t get killed publicly due to smaller market but it always comes back to scouting and development
  3. Yeah I agree with this. It's the Mike Shirley way
  4. These first two picks would be really fun
  5. As of now, they only have $2.7 million committed for the period that starts on January 15. Colas is the only known signing. They should have like $2.5 million.
  6. Yeah I'm not sure. The Sox slot is around $3 million. As a draft eligible sophomore, he could probably return to Florida and get more than that.
  7. They likely can’t afford prep pitching after taking a guy like Fabian
  8. Hahn isn’t speaking today. Not sure where that came from.
  9. This always humors me. He's old for the class. If he went to college though and declared in two years, he'd be getting praised for being young in the class. Funny how that works.
  10. The record is surprising but the struggles aren’t. Most of these guys haven’t played above complex ball and the pitching isn’t good. The prospects are on pitch limits and the rest is cheaper college picks that fill minor league rosters. Low A has been quite a jump for many of these guys. There isn’t really an alternative though.
  11. I’m guessing Hoglund still gets $3 million and Sox really can’t do that
  12. Tony isn't particularly good at the job anymore and I've been as critical as anyone but they aren't close to a revolt. The players might have to win in spite of the manager but they're perfectly willing and capable of doing so.
  13. Romy Gonzalez could have a big league future though. He plays everywhere and has power. He reminds me of Marwin Gonzalez
  14. I'm thinking prep bats and college pitching. It's tough to get prep pitching with their small bonus pool
  15. I'd lean prep bat for the White Sox if I had to guess right now. They like lots of guys.
  16. None of the position players that matter have played higher than complex league ball. It's going to be a struggle
  17. Kind of reminds me of Juan Uribe. Not body type wise but he has a super aggressive approach. He can really hit and has power but it might get exposed at higher levels
  18. Nope. Must have replaced Krogman
  19. Yeah I believe so
  20. This strategy is tough to do with barely $7 million. I could see Prep bat, prep arm, college pitcher, college pitcher and then really cheap signs in 5-10 or something. If you go prep heavy early on, you'll likely have to overslot to do it.
  21. Ellis interesting. Not really a prospect but he's an athletic CF with plus speed. Signed as an UDFA out of Texas after last year's draft.
  22. Kevin Goldstein of Fangraphs joined Mike Rankin and myself on the podcast. Some good stuff in here. There's a great story about Kevin attending Jose Abreu's workout and sitting next to Ken Williams. Check it out: https://www.futuresox.com/2021/04/28/futuresox-podcast-ft-kevin-goldstein-of-fangraphs/
  23. The Twins aren't dead but they need to go 83-59 to win 90 games. It's a brutal start.
