Will Robin be managing? Will Tim Anderson be called up? The White Sox need to make 2 roster moves. My guess is that they send Coats and Purke to Charlotte. What should happen? What will happen? Go.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) Fire him tomorrow. Prove to your fanbase that losing is no longer accepted. Tell the players they are next if things don't get turned in the next 50 days or so. This time it would actually mean something with Ventura out the door. If no changes tomorrow, the public campaign for Rick Hahn's job should begin. The front office & coaching staff can't blame the players every year, at this point there needs to be some accountability on their end as well. Is Rick Hahn allowed to fire him?

The offseason was fine. The additions were solid. If Abreu were playing like his usual self, this team would be in first place. It's that simple.

Good stuff from barstoolDave here: http://www.barstoolsports.com/chicago/per-...tis-jr-sources/

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 10:26 AM) It would appear. If Latos sucks Tuesday, that should change. I bet they send down Purke and put Gonzalez in the bullpen.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 08:08 AM) In addition to a big bat, we desperately need to upgrade our catcher situation. Outside of Lucroy, what guys are potentially available? I'm really worried this a postion that's going to difficult to addres mid-season. Catcher is fine they upgrade DH and SS and Abreu turns back to normal.

http://www.dailyherald.com/article/2016060..._medium=twitter He's spot on. The White Sox could go out and add Jay Bruce or a comparable LH stick. They could call up Tim Anderson and he could be as advertised. They could trade for Will Smith or another reliever to lock down the bullpen. They could replace Robin Ventura with Rick Renteria. But the problem is that if Jose Abreu continues to be one of the worst players on the team and in the league, this team isn't going anywhere. They have issues. It's a frustrating team for sure. Their main issue though is that Jose Abreu needs to be Jose Abreu. The dude has been terrible and it just can't continue.

QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 07:02 AM) All of a sudden $27 million is nothing. How much were we short on Alex Gordon, Dexter Fowler, and others? They weren't short on those guys though. They offered them what they felt they worth. What your paying someone else has no bearing on that.

Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 4m4 minutes ago James Shields gets $5 mil in 2016 from #WhiteSox, $10 mil in 2017 & 2018. They're also on hook for $2 mil buyout on 2019 club option. 7 retweets 3 likes

6/4 - White Sox @ Tigers Game Thread

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 07:16 PM) Let's not forget, Hahn is the genius, who, for some inexplicable reason called in a professional front office - Andrew Friedman and the Dodgers - to get Frazier. Dealing with bad GM like Jockety was a fair fight. But he brings in a top shelf negotiator. WTF are you talking about? They had a 3 way deal with Chapman headed to Dodgers that would have sent Frazier to the Sox. Cincinnati didn't want Trayce, Mantas, and Micah. They liked the Dodgers package better for whatever reason. -
Hahn mentioned in Dan Hayes' column the potential to receive a comp pick if Shields opts-out. Does he know something about the new CBA that we don't? I don't think they are eligible for a comp pick because he wasn't on the team for a full season.

QUOTE (Elgin Slim @ Jun 4, 2016 -> 06:37 PM) Watch Shields become a Danks-like Albatross and Tatis Jr. become an uber prospect. Sox gonna Sox. Yeah because they've traded so many young studs away.....

I don't think the White Sox wanted Jon Jay. If they did, they'd have him. San Diego was trying to include him in the deal.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 09:56 PM) Kahnle and Purke are just reminding me that it's sad Erik Johnson isn't good enough to be on a 12-man pitching staff. 13 man pitching staff.

Grab Some Bench! @Grab_Some_Bench 3h3 hours ago Carlos Rodon had two awful starts (0.1 IP vs LAA & rain delay game @ TEX). Take those out & he's good for a 2.86 ERA & 1.25 WHIP. #WhiteSox

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 12:45 PM) I'd rather have Corey Ray and Gavin Lux. I'm also taking into consideration how bad Shark was. Also, wouldn't rather have Phegley, only assuming on Bassitt and I'll take Anderson and Lawrie over Semien. Sox didn't like Phegley defensively. Bassitt had TJS and Semien has no defensive position.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 11:37 AM) Win as many games as u can. Tanking is ridiculous It's not. If you are the Brewers, Reds, Braves, Phillies, etc right now, there is no reason to try and win games. Get really bad to get really good.

QUOTE (JLarucci23 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 10:51 AM) Seems like nobody knows whats going to happen outside of the first couple picks. Id bet thrilled with Ray! I don't think anyone even knows the first couple picks.

Here is Law's Mock 3.0: http://espn.go.com/blog/mlb-draft/insider/post?id=2754 Has the White Sox taking Zach Collins and Gavin Lux. Rutherford is on the board at 10 as well.
-
They could take me with their 2nd rounder and I'd be ecstatic if they got Corey Ray and Gavin Lux in round 1. What a haul that would be.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 03:43 AM) What team did Livingston play for in Peoria, was it Manual, Central or another one? All I remember was reading a book once about Steve Alford and he and many top collegiate coaches were recruiting that kid HARD when he was already in middle school...projecting a combination of Magic Johnson, Penny Hardaway and Marcus Liberty/Jamie Brandon in their primes. Tyler and Cody Zeller coming out of Indiana were the other big-time recruits around that time period, if memory serves correctly. Peoria Central

SP-Ervin Santana: FIP under 4. Should be really cheap to acquire. DH/OF: Carlos Beltran. OF: Colby Rasmus LHR: Sean Doolittle LHR: Will Smith RHR: Arodys Vizcaino Don't need them all. Just some names that would interest me.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 08:12 AM) Is he any good these days? Just always hurt. Would be their best option to be the 3rd OT though. They'd have: OT: Massie, Leno, Long, OG: Long, Whitehair, Larsen, Ramirez C: Ramirez, Grasu That's pretty solid.

Robin Ventura sacrifice bunted with the 3 hitter in the 7th inning
Y2Jimmy0 replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
One of Mully and Hanley's producers thinks that the Cubs would struggle to win a WC with Ventura as manager because they are so young still. LOL. That team would win 95 games still.
