  1. What about Tim Anderson? Why not move him to catcher and then take a SS?
  2. Lol...this shit is great. Let’s start at the beginning. You’re comparing career minor league numbers despite the fact that Guerrero has spent over half his innings in AA whereas Clarkin has spent just 10%. In what world do you think that is a logical comparison? Despite that, Guerrero has a career K/9 of 8.3 vs Clarkin’s 7.1. How are those K rates similar and how does park size explain the difference? Even if the other career stats you presented are somewhat similar, you again fail to acknowledge the huge difference in level of competition that makes Guerrero’s numbers far more impressive. I see no argument for how Guerrero hasn’t been the statically better pitcher and it’s not really close IMO. And no one is arguing the White Sox didn’t value Clarkin over Guerrero this offseason, in fact that that is the crux of the argument. So what is your point exactly? Am I to believe teams have never had misevaluations on players before? Didn’t you just cite the 2012 draft as a robust example of poor player evaluation by our front office? Not sure why you threw that nugget in there, but I guess it helps my argument. And I don’t think Guerrero is a stud prospect by any means. I simply think Clarkin is overhyped and still living off those pre draft Kershaw comps. Unfortunately the prospect that warranted those comparisons is long gone.
  3. Wow, plenty of bullshit with this post. Guerrero was significantly better in 2017 vs. 2016, so I’m not sure what numbers you are looking at. The fact that he has much more experience than Clarkin is not somehow a negative no matter how you try to spin it. He’s only 8 months older than Ian & earned his promotion to AA because he was both healthy & productive. And the reason I think Guerrero is a tier above Clarkin is because he’s actually had a K rate above 7 per 9 inning since low A. What has Clarkin done in his career to warrant any optism? Poor health, average numbers, & ordinary stuff. Again, if he wasn’t a former 1st round pick he’d just be some guy no one gave a fuck about.
  4. You’re a FA signing guy? Really? All you do is call every free agent a “stiff”, say everyone is overpaid, and then call all the owners stupid for signing all these overpaid stiffs. Outside of a few select Royals who you adore, you are the exact opposite of a FA signing guy.
  5. Why do you care about attendance during the second year of a rebuild? No one should fee guilty for not spending their money to watch this quality of product. That’s one of the reasons the payroll is low as it is. Because the Sox don’t expect you to show up very often. And for someone who lives in Lawrence fucking Kansas, why the hell do you care about the cost of going to games? Talk about a waste of energy whining about this day after day when you maybe go to one or two games a year. Good grief man.
  6. So do we, the difference here is we understand the road to titles comes with some short-term sacrifices where as you just come off as a whiny, entitled little shit who wants daddy to buy him a Ferrari for his 16th birthday.
  7. Seriously, why can’t this org just be transparent about these things.
  8. I didn’t understand it then, I don’t understand now. Guerrero is only eight months older than Clarkin and has had infinitely better results. Clarkin may have a few more ticks on the fastball, but I’d argue that the difference in stuff isn’t that significant. Clarkin is still living off his first round hype and is a clear tier below Guerrero IMO.
  9. McClure & Henzman didn’t make my top 10 list, but I’d have them both over Clarkin. I wasn’t a huge fan of his coming into the year and Ian hasn’t done much change my view on him.
  10. Yeah, this should be our worst stretch. Still too many fringe guys or veterans who basically have no shot of being on our next good team. Watching young players develop can be painful at times but is ultimately rewarding.
  11. This all looks good to me.
  12. This group will be a lot more to follow even with the expected growing pains.
  13. Jimenez just ripped a double off the RF wall and got tagged trying to extend it into a triple. Hopefully he’s not hurt as he slowed down at the end and did not slide.
  14. He’s definitely got confidence. Check that Hostetler interview that Y2Jimmy posted. Sounds like the kid never doubted himself once despite his slow start to 2018. That’s a huge character trait to have if you want to make it in the majors because there will always be extended periods of failure to overcome.
  15. I don’t see a need to rush Micker. Let Basabe get a shot at AA, he’s almost played 160 games at High A.
  16. My boy Lopez gonna restore some lost faith today. I’m predicting he goes six scoreless innings with 10 K’s and less than 3 BB’s.
  17. When people use the term “sneaky athleticism” that’s usually a clear sign you’re not in great shape.
  18. I don’t think they can at this point. I’d bump him up to AAA at the end of May and then call him up to the majors if he has a solid June. We’d get a good three months of him with the Sox which is about as good as we can do.
  19. Jimenez & Zavala both just missed HRs and Eloy’s was absolutely ripped to straight away center.
  20. I mean, that’s definitely a possibility. I’m still operating under the assumption Matt Davidson might somehow be a major league caliber DH, which would take away that option.
  21. This kid is having a tremendous season. I know he’s slightly old for the level, but it’s hard to ignore his numbers. With his defensive abilities, he’s a sure fire major leaguer at some point. He could be a fantastic reserve behind Moncada & Anderson a year from now.
  22. Zavala seems to be a legit offensive player. Him, Collins, & Jimenez should all be ready for the majors in the next 12 months. That’s going to add a lot of offense to the lineup. Will be interesting to see how they make Zavala fit though. If he’s for real, you can’t just use him as your backup catcher. I wonder if he could still play some OF when Collins is behind the dish.
  23. https://www.google.com/amp/s/chicago.suntimes.com/sports/jake-burger-injury-achilles-tear-white-sox/amp/ They’re saying he’s out another 12 months. At least they’re acting like they’re optimistic this setback won’t have any long-term implications.
  24. God this fucking sucks. I’m not writing him off completely, but right now it feels like we lost our first round pick last year.
