  1. Can’t wait for Robert & Hansen to be back.
  2. Would rather take Bohm over either of those guys.
  3. But why though? Calling him up in September burns as much service time as calling him up in July. At that point you wait until late May of 2019 to bring him up.
  4. That’s exactly where the grades lost all credibility to me.
  5. It’s that simple folks, just take the given star in the draft. Hopefully there are four Mike Trouts in this one or that strategy might not work for us.
  6. Not that that tweet is suggesting it, but that would be nuts if they passed on Mize for Bart. For whatever reason I seem him as a tier below the Bohm & Madrigal duo, but apparently the top couple clubs don’t feel that’s the case.
  7. Moncada is just so good at 2B I don’t see how you can move him.
  8. I’ll have to pay more attention when Beck is pitching. Haven’t been overly impressed with what I’ve seen so far, but admittedly it’s pretty litte. I agree with others that we rushed Bummer and he could use minor league seasoning. Cedeno was an always an intriguing signing (projection systems really liked him coming into the year) and has been lights out so far. Plus he has another season of control which could obviously prove useful.
  9. I do think if Giolito continues to struggle with his command and the velocity remains where it’s at, I’d send him down to AAA and let him work with McCatty in a low pressure environment. Hahn has already said they won’t be afraid to send guys down and won’t view it as a failure and I really think for certain players that’s the right approach. It would hopefully be a short stint to figure his shit out . I’m fully prepared to give Lucas all of 2018 & 2019 to show us what’s he got before considering contingency plans with him.
  10. For reference, Moncada was a 70 last year and Jimenez will be a 65 per FG. Typically top 100 overall prospects are 50 or above.
  11. I’m officially all in on Madrigal.
  12. Why LF though? Seems like he’d be way more valuable in CF. If you moved Anderson to CF, drafted Madrigal, and signed Machado for 3B, you could have a lineup like this in 2019 & 2020: 1. Moncada, 2B 2. Machado, 3B 3. Abreu, 1B 4. Jimenez, LF 5. Davidson, DH 6. A. Garcia, RF (Robert in 2020) 7. Anderson, CF 8. Sanchez, SS (Madrigal in 2020) 9. Castillo, C (Collins mid 2019) That’s a pretty sick lineup with a bunch more prospects pushing for roles or used as trade chips.
  13. Cedeno & Gomez have been awesome for the Knights. I’d send down Bummer & Beck and call these two up.
  14. My wife literally just texted me this and I thought she was crazy cause it’s like 70 in the west burbs.
  15. Got to give Hostetler & Getz a chance to prove themselves. For the most part, the minor league system has performed well. I really think these IDPs Getz has put in place are helping. Seems like they used to leave development up to the players themselves and not there is actually structure in place. I’m actually getting optimism there. The drafting is a bigger question mark, but it’s still way too early to draw any conclusions on Hostetler. It is possible Collins, Hansen, Burdi, & Hamilton all become key pieces of our next good team and that would make the 2016 draft a huge success. Just got to wait and see how these first classes pan out for Nick.
  16. That makes more sense and obviously couldn’t hurt us.
  17. ? That would be pretty awesome, but has too many moving pieces IMO. What are we giving up to move up to #3? The #22 pick is not nearly enough. Would the #7 and like Portis be enough? I’m not even sure we would do that unless Doncic would be there, which seems like a long-shot. Like the creative thinking though.
  18. Why LF and not CF?
  19. Well that would fuck us really badly. Right now there is a sliver of hope for MPJ, I seriously doubt that’s a possibility without Doncic in the draft.
  20. I’m just not sure how much I trust Minor League framing stats.
  21. Nothing worse than being proud about being ignorant. Davidson was beyond horrible last year and he’s better across the board in every single traditional & advanced stat so far in 2018. There is absolutely no argument whatsoever that he was a better hitter last year. I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul.
  22. People keep saying wait until September, but why September? Doesn't that account as service time just as much as any other month?
  23. I don't disagree with what you're saying and my statement was meant to be a bit of a hot take, but man this pitching staff has been disappointing and I came into the season already expecting bad.
  24. Obviously there is no real evidence behind this, but Cooper seems to be having a rough year with the staff. Almost everyone is underperforming with the key young guys showing almost no signs of development. Plenty of time for things to change, but the not the start any of us were looking for.
