  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 12:06 AM) If he is putting himself into situations where he is taking a knife to uniforms just because he doesn't want to wear them, the only person he is being loyal to at that point is himself. Sure 99% of the time he has been a good solider, but something like this is inexcusable. I can't think of a single situation similar to this in pro sports, back to the whole McMahon headband thing. I'm not defending his actions tonight, based on the facts we have so far, his reaction was childish. I'm just saying this one act shouldn't wash away all the good he's done for us. I'm probably the biggest supporter of trading Chris, but I also realize how awesome he has been to us fans. He will always be one of my favorite players, even if I think this event and the Drake event are ridiculous. If this really is the end of his career with the Sox, it's sad to see him go out like this. He deserves better.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 12:04 AM) Debatable on this one. Dude's a stellar teammate and great with fans, but to the org itself...eh, kinda. Trying to start fights in clubhouses, cussing out your boss and slashing jerseys with a knife isn't great behavior. If Sale weren't the star player, he'd be out of the league for this s***. The decision of trading Q or Sale is easy now. Go with the level headed one. Like I said, he's immature and a hot-head. No questions there. But his actions don't mean he's not loyal.
  3. QUOTE (Special K @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 11:38 PM) I hate Rick Hahn. I will 100% become a Cubs fan if they trade Sale. Prepared to be done with this Organization. It will be so liberating. Lol...nice knowing you, enjoy hopping on the bandwagon bro.
  4. QUOTE (Green Line @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 11:48 PM) He's a loyal guy? Is that was he was being during Spring Training when he publicly threw his boss under the bus and embaressed the organization? He was loyal to Drake, I suppose. No offense dude, you can call out Sale for being immature and hot-headed, but don't question his loyalty. He's been awesome to his teammates, our fanbase, and the organization. Just because he doesn't see eye to eye with KW at times doesn't mean he's not a loyal dude. It's pretty sad this incident is going to cause some Sox fans to change their perspective on him.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 11:47 PM) What he did to the jerseys was stupid. Having him not pitch because of it is more stupid. This sums it up perfectly.
  6. Yeah, I don't blame Sale for being a bit high strung if trade rumor speculation was involved. Chris is a loyal guy and it's got to be tough dealing with this s***.
  7. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 11:13 PM) Don't discount Pirates in trade talks w/ #WhiteSox. Need starters, have scout here and some good young talent (Glasnow, Meadows, Bell) https://twitter.com/scotgregor/status/757062258107228161 Them being in the mix would be huge. And quite frankly, Sale & Quintana's below market contracts would be of significant value to them.
  8. Surprised at how many Red Sox fans on Son of Sam Horn realized it would take Moncada+ for Sale and how many were cool with that. Seems like most their fanbase will be happy as long as they don't lose any of the three B's in a Sale trade.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 08:40 PM) Stoney just took a shot at him What did he say?
  10. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:00 PM) Even if he continually verbally abuses them it deserves a punishment. Not if you're actively trying to trade him. That's beyond stupid.
  11. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:56 PM) If its a continued pattern of behavior, eventually you need to do something about it, especially if he went after a clubhouse attendant or someone like that. If he did something violent I would agree you have no choice, but that's apparently not the case.
  12. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:52 PM) Because he obviously acted like a f***ing baby, to which I ask- why the hell do you get so mad over anything uniform related? They could trot out there in pink and lavender and I wouldn't give a f*** as long as they win. I'm sure he overreacted and I'm sure they've swept incidents under the rug before, but now is not the time to let the cat out of the bag that Sale's anger problem is even worse than we all thought. Absolutely stupid decision IMO if you're serious about trading him.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:46 PM) About uniforms https://mobile.twitter.com/JulieDiCaro/stat...998668469858305 SMH...that's even f***ing worse. Why in god's name do you send him home over something like this? I get that he must have thrown a tantrum, but who the f*** cares. If you're sick of his behavior, then sweep this under the rug and deal him. I can't believe you'd actually come out publicly and announce your prized asset is a psychopath a week before the deadline.
  14. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:28 PM) Not sure if or how Kenny Williams was involved. Sale has had strained relations with #whitesox and things finally boiled over. https://twitter.com/jcrasnick/status/756994002780577794 Best case scenario right now is KW was involved and both were sent home, which explains the need for an investigation.
  15. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:11 PM) Questioning a poorly run organization as a player is not necessarily a red flag. We don't know if that's what happened. Using the word "investigation" is a bit scary and leaves a lot of room to the imagination.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:05 PM) The dudes a hot head. that's been known well before this. He was probably scratched and went all redneck when he was told. It's not a big deal. I'm just saying if I'm a GM about to give up one of the biggest packages in baseball history for a guy, I don't want any last second red flags that could cause me to question the deal.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 05:57 PM) This does not affect his trade value one iota. Um, it might be when you're talking about giving up five top prospects for a guy. A little concerning if the guy has clubhouse issues. Not saying Chris does, but there is nothing positive about this.
  18. Not good news at all. Why in the world would you tell everyone you scratched a guy actively involved in trade talks due to some incident and are currently investigating. I see no good coming out of this.
  19. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 05:35 PM) This is definitely more exciting than watching their games, that's for sure. Just hope if they make this trade they don't blow it. If they are actually close to making a trade on July 23rd, that tells me they got an offer too good to pass up. Otherwise, you wait closed until the 1st, play teams off one another, and hope someone does something stupid.
  20. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 05:29 PM) Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi 9s10 seconds ago Chris Sale, scratched by #WhiteSox today, is not believed to be ill, according to two sources. Wow, this might just be happening.
  21. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 05:12 PM) Thing is...they can probably get Archer and not have to give up two IFers Archer's price will be nearly as insane. And honestly, a team like Tampa is going hard-pressed giving up an affordable ace (if you assume his just a down year) with five years of control given their financial situation.
  22. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 05:07 PM) Why? He should be making his next start for us...chances are he's not going to be traded Are they just going to skip his start altogether? I guess I was assuming he'd start tomorrow, but maybe you're right. There is still hope!
  23. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 05:08 PM) Read the last article I posted. They really cant afford Sale without taking apart their lineup already riddled with injuries. Good thing we have a plethora of position players available as well.
  24. For any of you with tickets to next Thursday's Cubs-Sox game, you're unlikely to see Sale starting. I'll be at that game and was looking forward to his start.
  25. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 04:53 PM) He has the Flu apparently QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 04:54 PM) Brian just said he has the flu supposedly I trust raBBit, but this info seems a bit fishy as well. Not sure what to believe anymore.
