  1. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 10:23 PM) ump was behind frazier I meant Frazier.
  2. Holy f*** what a joke. How can the ball beat the runner by that much and you not get the tag calm right?
  3. Time for Frazier to break out of his slump.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:39 PM) Who was that big 1B that everyone was clamoring for who was leading AAA in homers and get totally exposed with the Sox? Can't remember his name anymore, blocking it out deliberately. Andy Wilkins?
  5. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) I could nitpick Frazier batting 5th against a lefty, but that's pretty low on the Sox list of problems right now. While I agree, it won't be the reason we lose tonight.
  6. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:41 PM) Most of it, yes. But starting Avi instead of Coats in the OF is just absurd and he usually makes at least 1 of them every single game. Also, Danish is in the bullpen now but he also pitched the last 2 games when he our longman and Robin knew Shields has been terrible. While I agree, it won't be the reason we lose tonight.
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) He could've not started Avi in the field, which would've helped in the 3rd... He could've not batted Anderson leadoff... No sympathy here. While I agree, it won't be the reason we lose tonight.
  8. QUOTE (daggins @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) He could not bat Anderson leadoff. That would be a start. While I agree, it won't be the reason why we lose tonight.
  9. Even Herm Schneider looks concerned about Shields' health. 5-0 Tigers
  10. I actually feel bad for Robin tonight, nothing he can do about this nonsense.
  11. The good news is all the scouts in attendance tonight will see how good of a defender Avi is. Definitely better off DHing Coats for that reason.
  12. Shields is doing his part to get Robin fired. And if he keeps this up, he might get Hahn fired too.
  13. And I must have missed the wildfire reference. When did this happen?
  14. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 11:06 PM) Arya and The Waif fight mirrored Syrio, but the outcome was better. I actually prefer some offscreen fights. The siege at Riverrun's only purpose is to advance the characters of Jaime and Brienne. They both laid their cards out and found a mutual respect/love. That was never going to be a great battle. The Tully's were vastly outnumbered. It would have been idiotic to show the Blackfish in some crazy sword fight after they've spent several episodes talking about how old he is. It's just not realistic. King's Landing made a ton of progress. No more trial by combat. They revealed wildfire and Tommen broke up with his f***in Mom. Cersei is incredibly desperate and she's going to burn the whole city down. As always, there's a lot of progression, it's just not the outcome some people want, so they pretend it's bad television, despite being some of the best produced TV of all time. How did the Arya/Waif fight mirror Syrio? I'm not even sure what those words mean. And it was ridiculous that Arya took a nasty gut wound last week, but after a bowl of soup and a night's rest she was fine. But hey, I guess it just wasn't the outcome I wanted. Idiotic to show the Blackfish's final sword fight cause he's old? Funny they showed Ser Barristan's last season and it was an awesome scene. And I'm sorry, you can call the Jaime/Brianne wave "mutual love" but it was corny as f***. King's landing made some progress, I will admit that. The trial by combat reveal was huge and the fact that Tommen basically betrayed his mom was awesome. However, the storyline has been dragging all season and I was expecting something closer to the conclusion of the arc than we got tonight. Probably my fault for having high expectations. And I absolutely love the show and respect the fact it's going in a different direction than the books, but that doesn't mean I can't be objective and critique elements of the show. I was pretty disappointed by tonight's episode, with the Arya/Waif & Riverrun stories really letting me down. Oh well, Battle of the Bastards looks amazing and I'm sure episode 10 will be a much bigger deal than in previous seasons.
  15. Bad episode. They spent how much time setting up the fight between the Arya & the Waif and they don't even show it? They build up a potentially awesome siege at Riverrun and then nothing. Hell, they don't even show the Blackfish going out in a blaze of glory. That wave between Jamie & Brianne was hokey beyond belief. And I thought we'd finally move forward in the King's Landing and we made some, but not nearly enough progress. The Battle of the Bastards will be awesome next week and episode 10 should be cool if finish the King's Landing stuff once and for all, but tonight's episode was a disappointment.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 06:01 PM) This doesn't match up with your must fire Robin post, saying that should do some good is saying the team is good enough to win. They just need a better manager. Football, basketball, hockey, you change the coach, you change a lot more than what you change when you fir a manager in baseball. But they are running out of things to do. To me, Anderson was total desperation. I think he is eventually going to be a really fun player. But at this point, unless Rollins was a clubhouse problem, and all indications are the opposite, I really don't think he gives you a better chance at winning that what was here before. At some point, I think he will, but not now. It shows they are running out of ideas. I would think Robin is close to being gone. They probably give him this series, but if they don't win at least 2, I think most fans will get their wish. And if that doesn't work, I think a fire sale and a semi rebuild occurs which more than likely buys KW and RH more employment. I think the team is pressing & underperforming, and as a result, I think firing Robin is a must. I also think the team is flawed and I hold Hahn & KW responsible for those short-comings. I'm not sure why only one party can be responsible for this s*** show. The players, coaching staff, front office, & even ownership group have all played a role in our recent failures. We need to start holding some of these people accountable and it can't just be the players and it obviously won't be Reinsdorf. Like I said, fire Robin ASAP because he is not a good manager. Give Renteria a 3 1/2 month tryout and see what he does with the team. If they continue to struggle, at least it's pretty clear the flawed roster was the primary reason and maybe we see some changes in the front office. Another failed season is proof that whatever they are doing isn't working.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 05:34 PM) But it will placate the fan base, and if they don't contend this season, they aren't bringing him back anyway, but it will, as Gar Forman found out, put the target on KW and RH if the team doesn't drastically improve with the same players. At this point, a target should be placed on Hahn & KW's backs. It's bulls*** they continue to blame the players when they are the ones who put the team together. If the players are once again underperforming (their opinion), then they should want to fire Robin and see if another manager can get them to play up to their potential. Right now, it feels like they're keeping Robin around to avoid the heat being brought onto them and ensuring themselves another year by canning him in the offseason.
  18. Tonight's episode should be awesome. Can't wait to see what the Mountain does to those Sparrows.
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 04:23 PM) One more series at home. Lose two against the Tigers, Renteria has to be the manager by the time they land in Cleveland. Can we afford to lose another series though? We're going to be 4 1/2 out after today. I'd give him another series if the team looked even halfway alive. Right now, they desperately sneed a slap across the face and that means firing Robin ASAP.
  20. Can we stop with the stupid relocating theories? It's utter f***ing nonsense. Baseball is looking to expand and has at least two franchises with legit cases to relocate. The Sox aren't going anywhere until their sweetheart lease deal ends in the very distant future and when it does they'll likely move to the suburbs or lakefront. They aren't leaving the Chicago metropolitan area.
  21. Bump. No matter how you slice it, Robin is a part of this mess. Given that we can't fire all the players, it's finally time to part ways with our manager. At the very least, it moves the accountability towards the front office that tried to fix a problematic offense through dumpster diving. Best case, a new voice gets these guys to stop pressing and it salvages the season.
  22. That's it, I've had enough of this s*** for one day. I'm literally going to lose my s*** if I have to keep watching this garbage.
  23. I f***ing hate JB Shuck, what a joke of a major leaguer.
