  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 08:30 PM) They are about to be winning. Another bogus review call saved them last inning Which game are you watching fathom?
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 08:23 PM) Not a good 30 minutes for him No doubt, but he's done more than enough to deserve some rookie slack.
  3. God Sanchez is making me look bad & I'm loving it!!
  4. No time to dwell on the error, Saladino needs to come out and tie the game this inning one way or the other.
  5. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 08:11 PM) I dont get the excuses made for him. I believe he's struck out 70+ times and only walked 9. How is that good? His swing is so horrid he should really just stand there and take pitches. It's because someone here mentioned we were middle of the pack production wise at catcher and some people just assumed that meant Flowers was ok this year despite Soto providing the entirety of the value.
  6. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) I loathe Stanks even more. I feel some compassion for Danks cause of the injury, none whatsoever for Tumbleweeds.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 07:55 PM) How many eams have a 5th starter that pitches well every game? 3 outings this month giving up nothing. Go to royalstalk. Problem is Erik Johnson is likely a better option, so it's frustrating to watch these s***ty starts 75% of the time.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 07:54 PM) Shuck has historically been decent vs LHP IIRC Was just trying to remember if someone on this board said this. Good to hear.
  9. This game is far from over, but Robin needs to pull Danks at the first sign of trouble.
  10. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 07:47 PM) Shut up, Red Sox fans. This.
  11. Antonio Rodriguez hit his 6th HR. Batting average is still really low, but that looks like the result of some bad luck. He's dropped his K rate significantly this year while maintaining his power. The BB rate still needs a lot of work, but the kid is improving. Happy with his season so far and can't wait to see him at Kannapolis next year. Will be nice to finally have some age appropriate position players on that team.
  12. Regarding LaRoche, I think we need to start playing him at 1B more frequently to see if that can help him get going. Worst case scenario it improves the defense a bit. And we definitely need to start platooning him. I don't care if that's a shot to his ego, but he should not be facing LHP under a normal circumstance.
  13. Blue Jays lost in the 10th, so we're only 2 games behind them in the wild card race. I still think you trade Shark if the offer is right, but it's absolutely crazy how open the playoff picture is right now. None of the other teams in the mix for that second wild card spot are any better than us if the recent turnarounds from guys like Melky, Alexei, & Sanchez are for real.
  14. QUOTE (Sox Fan In Husker Land @ Jul 26, 2015 -> 06:56 AM) With the bat Adam Eaton has been steadily getting better as the season has gone on after a terrible start. Eaton April/March 19 G .192 Avg .241 OB% .256 SLUG% .497 OPS .234 BABIP 7 R May 26 G .262 Avg .325 OB% .402 SLUG% .727 OPS .302 BABIP 20 R June 25 G .276 Avg .355 OB% .459 SLUG% .814 OPS .316 BABIP 13 R July 20 G .267 Avg .375 OB% .453 SLUG% .828 OPS .315 BABIP 14 R From May 1st until July 25th, Eaton has scored 47 runs in 71 games. At that pace over a full season of 162 games that would be 107 runs. It's also nice to see this isn't due to some inflated BABIP. Great post. Take out that horrible April and he's actually been more productive with the bat than last season due to his unexpected increase in power. Also, not sure how his defense has trended month to month, but it seems like he was once again the victim of early season struggles. Honestly, I have no concerns about Eaton going forward.
  15. Not sure if this was posted anywhere, but a Cueto trade to the Royals nearly happened yesterday. Apparently one of the guys the Reds would have received had some red flags in their medicals so the trade was called off (for now). Have not seen any other details on parameters of the trade. Looks like we might see some movement on the Shark front as soon as today.
  16. QUOTE (spiderman @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 11:35 PM) Reality is that the Sox will get one decent prospect, and not a team's top 5, maybe not even top 10 within an organziation. Based on what? The Kazmir return? Let's not jump to conclusions based on a Billy Beane trade. He routinely does things that go against popular opinion. While the amount of starting pitching available has definitely increased over the past couple weeks, I'm not sure I believe it's quite the buyer's market the media is portraying. It seems like a lot of names have been floated in hopes of an overpay and not because the teams are motivated to sell. I still think the market of potential impact starters that are readily available is fairly small. IMO, the Sox should be able to get more than you're suggesting.
