  1. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) Sanchez has officially hit a wRC+ of 0. 0. Over 102 plate appearances. 0. .141/.200/.174. He can still go negative correct? Didn't Leury have a negative wRC+ last year?
  2. I literally hate anyone with the last name Mercer after the Ron Mercer fiasco.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 08:54 PM) Say what you want about Danks ... He's the LEAST of this lousy team's problems. I for one respect the guy coming back from injury. He's an OK pitcher in my book. The eye test tells me he competes. I don't give a s*** what stats say about Danks. You must be blinder than Mr. Magoo if he passes your eye test.
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 08:45 PM) No idea how he scored on that Looked like the throw in bounced off someone's glove away from the plate. Otherwise, he would have been dead to rights.
  5. http://www.si.com/mlb/strike-zone/2013/07/...est-in-28-years The scoreless inning to streak ends at 30 2/3! And we were just a dozen away from an all-time low over the past 30 years!
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 07:30 PM) Yeah, whatever. By 2017, it's going to be like the movie Rookie of the Year except it's real life. You'd agree if it were anybody but the Cubs. f***, might as well cancel the next decade of baseball. Cubs have that s*** on wrap B.
  7. What's the record for games being shut out in a row? I'm almost rooting for something historically bad to happen to force some change.
  8. Thompson with his 8th HR. Wish his BB rate didn't drop in half this year. Anderson with two doubles tonight. Need him to keep getting those XBH.
  9. It's crazy how bad this offense really is. Just mind-boggling.
  10. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 07:59 PM) Something about deck chairs and the Titanic Micah sucked defensively in an incredibly small sample. He was made the scapegoat for our teamwide defensive issues. He deserved a longer opportunity with us. Unfortunately, we've now given 100 PAs to a guy with a motherf***ing 3 wRC+ b/c we over-reacted to a handful of bad plays from Micah. It was stupid then, looks even more ridiculous now.
  11. For the love of God, demote Sanchez and get Micah up here ASAP.
  12. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 12:56 AM) if some poster see and hesitant to call Sanchez a black hole in hitting, who would you call Davidson hitting? I think Davidson would be an epic failure at the major league level. Maybe he could be useful against LHP, but I have zero faith he'd be even remotely productive with everyday at-bats. Guys who strike out 33% of the time in AAA without massive power don't translate well to the pros.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 09:00 PM) Who cares? They are this bad. No they aren't, but they're in the process of digging themselves a hole that will be nearly impossible to get out of. Change is needed immedietely to have even a remote chance of saving this disaster of a season. I say DFA Flowers & Noesi, option Sanchez to AAA, & fire Steverson.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 08:50 PM) Really needs to be changes prior to tomorrow's game. This lack of production is inexcusable. Yup, this s*** is beyond ridiculous. I said it last night and I'll say it again, Flowers, Noesi, & Sanchez need to be off the 25 man roster ASAP. I'd probably can Steverson too, as our approach outside of a few guys has been pathetic. Most likely not fair to place the blame on him, but change is desperately needed in some capacity. Hahn better wake the f*** up soon or the blame should start falling on him IMO.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 12:27 PM) Nintendo's confernece was pretty disappointing from the Wii U side. 3ds side looks fantastic though if you own one of those. They seem to be gearing up for the Nintendo NX launch next year. I doubt Zelda even makes it out on wii u. At this point, I'd rather have them shift resources to the NX. While the Wii U does have some great games, the system was botched from the get-go. Going with the "Wii" brand (terrible idea), not having a killer app that leveraged the control pad, a barely functioning OS at launch, and some huge game droughts early on sealed the system's fate. IMO, Star Fox & Mario Maker look like the first two games that actually use the control pad in useful ways. Both would have been signifanctly better launch titles than Nintendoland. Hell, a legit 3D Metroid Game could have also used the controller in some cool ways. Ultimately, they couldn't convince the consumer what was special about Wii U and fought an awkward battle between targeting the hardcore Nintendo loyalist and the causal gamer. Too late in the game to introduce those games now. Whatever the NX is, I really hope it's launched with some convincing software. Nintendo has enough money to falter through another failed console, but I'm not sure their investors will tolerate it. The NX could really be a make or break system for Nintendo as a console manufacturer. Hopefully they finally learn from their mistakes, because I'd hate a video game world without Nintendo systems, even if the games keep coming.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 11:39 AM) StarFox Zero announced. I am excite Looks really good, unfortunately no real surprises this year. Outside of Mario Tennis & some Aninmal Crossing party game, every Wii U title had been announced a while ago. Pretty disappointing Nintendo didn't have one big reveal, especially with Zelda delayed into 2H 2016.
  17. I've defended Hahn all season, but if he doesn't shuffle the roster soon, I'm going to question his ability as a GM. Noesi & Flowers should be DFA tonight. Sanchez should be sent down. Bring up Kotteras, Micah, and an arm. These changes may not work, but we have to try something different. The season is nearing it's breaking point and it's going to be quite sad if we keep having to watch an #8/#9 of Flowers & Sanchez fail day after day.
  18. God damn it, f***ing pathetic offense has cost us again.
  19. QUOTE (onedude @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:15 AM) Saw it. Only thing I see is he knows the parentage of Jon. What else would he be there for During a finally? Or maybe he's a white walker/other/coldhands/wight? Or maybe it was a BS preview... Yeah, the parentage angle would make some sense. Still still seams like it would take a lot of time to reintroduce Benjen, him have dialogue with Jon about his parentage, & "For the watch"' happen. This doesn't include any other Castle Black storylines he may be involved in with Sam & Davos. Pretty much every major story line should making an appearance tonight. Cersei's walk of shame (and introduction of Robert Strong), update on the Tyrells & possible release from jail, Arya's hit on Meryn Trant, Dany & Dragon's eventual landing (Red Waste perhaps), the other Mereen characters doing something, Sansa & Theon's escape, Stannis' march onto Winterfall, the other characters at Wintefell (Boltons & Brienne/Pod) doing something. Hell, if the preview is to be believed, then even Doran and/or Ellaria will be in it as well. And this assumes nothing for Varys or Little Finger, which are definite possibilities. I really don't know how they'll have time to cover all their existing storylines and also do this Benjen angle. Regardless, this is shaping up to be one of the best episodes in show history. And from the looks of it, we'lll definitely have some spoiler material.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 13, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) Neither did Micah. He should have gotten 1/2 a year or more in AAA first. Alas we pretended we had a good enough roster that "rushed rookie 2b" wouldn't be a major issue. Once we decided to make him the opening day 2B, we should have stuck with him longer than six weeks. His defense sucked but would have likely gotten better as the season progressed. Growing pains are simply part of the game. Unfortunately, we needed a scapegoat for the team's overall poor defense & fundamentals and decided the rookie 2B was the best candidate. Now we have to endure a guy with sub a .400 OPS, simply because "fix the defense" was our short-term goal at the time.
  21. Not sure if it's legit, but there's a "Previously On" floating around for episode 10 and it contains a Benjen Stark flashback, which is even more interesting since the actor had been listed on IMDB's cast list for this episode. If this is real and they're actually bringing him back in some capacity (alive or White Walker) rather than just having a dialogue about him, then we're talking serious book spoilers.
  22. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 13, 2015 -> 07:45 PM) Micah is 3-3 with a BB. His BA is ~.100 points higher than Sanchez's OBP in the majors. He should have never been sent down IMO. Hopefully he gets another shot with us soon, because Sanchez does not look like an everyday player.
  23. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 13, 2015 -> 08:59 AM) re - Shark, based on his performance this yr, there is no way i would sign him, unless he comes in at 15 mil. a yr. to max the rtn, esp for a major league ready cat and or 3b, some one like Q is going to be needed to be traded. btw, i am not advocating this to be done, i am pointing out what will be needed to get it done. Quintana is one of the most valuable players is baseball. Unless we're acquiring a star C or 3B under an equally affordable deal, Jose won't be the the chip we'll need to move. IMO, a package of Danish/Montas, Hawkins, & say Jordan Guerrero would be incredibly attractive to a lot of teams in this day and age. A package like that should be able to land us a very nice upgrade at C or 3B with multiple years of team control.
  24. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jun 13, 2015 -> 08:13 AM) You are assuming they can afford to sign Shark then. But again, if you don't trade pitching , how wll you upgrade the offense. If this pitching staff/bullpen finishes .500 or less, unless the Sox spend on signing Shark plus a few FA position players, you will be in the same position next year. I am not sure you are going to see the payroll take another big jump next year if this team does not make the playoffs. We'll have to dive into our minor league system to upgrade the offense. Let's say you can resign Shark to a 5 year extension, you'd essentially have him, Sale, Quintana, & Rodon until control for the next four years (five or more for everyone but Sale). All we would really need is a #5 starter for the foreseeable future, plus some depth in case of injury. Between Danks, Erik Johnson, Beck, and maybe even Junior Guerra we should be able to have that spot covered for 2016. With Fulmer likely to be a fast mover, AA prospects like Danish & Montas become very tradable assets right now. One of them combined with one of our better position prospects (anyone not named Anderson) and a solid secondary arm might be able to land you a nice upgrade at C or 3B with multiple years of team control.
