Ohtani Watch: Dodgers sign - 700M over 10yrs
Unfortunately Jerry living another 10 years is probably going to happen. Ohtani to the Cubs will prevent any kid in Chicago from ever choosing the Sox as their team which will eventually have an impact on attendance / interest and ultimately revenue. I can say this with certainty as I have a nine year old son who loves Ohtani and would immediately become a Cubs fan if he signed with them.

Ohtani Watch: Dodgers sign - 700M over 10yrs
I honestly can’t think of anything that would more negatively impact the Sox than Ohtani signing with the Cubs. Basically just kill off any pipeline of future Sox fans for the next 5 to 10 years.

Sox Sign Erick Fedde - 2 years, $15 million
Why no? Have you seen the roster?

Fire Chris Getz
Didn’t know where to put this. Not sure if a new position or a backfill, but if the former maybe Getz is trying to modernize things? It would be nice to give Bannister a legit pitching lab.

Meanwhile, Getz is still bragging about how one year of Soroka, two years of a solid utility guy, and a couple fringe prospects is a “foundational” move.

Ohtani Watch: Dodgers sign - 700M over 10yrs
Lol…don’t forgot the Alex Rios claim! You could argue that’s one the 10 largest expenditures in franchise history.

Ohtani Watch: Dodgers sign - 700M over 10yrs
What’s funny is that we actually offered a higher AAA than SD, we just were afraid to guarantee years 9 & 10 because of all the talent we’d have lock up come 2027. Because as you know, when you have endless job security, it’s more important to long range plan than actually try to put the best team together in the now.

Don’t do this to me Quin. The hurt is still too real.

Morosi linked Whit to White Sox in Dec23
Hopefully the Ohtani signing will finally allow the next wave of OF stars like Merrifeld to get their bidding wars going.

Ohtani Watch: Dodgers sign - 700M over 10yrs
I bet it feels like signing Andrew Benintendi without that gross “what did I just fucking do” feeling the next day.

Ohtani Watch: Dodgers sign - 700M over 10yrs
f*** yes…sad I’ll never no what signing a star in free agency feels like.

Edgar Navarro outrighted
I can’t believe that Jerry knew all along that all Ohtani wanted was for his suitor to play hard to get!
-
Jung Hoo Lee
I know about this kid, but I will say free agency sucks next year (positional wise at least) so buying a younger free agent a year early (assuming you like them) would make sense.

Toronto winning these sweepstakes would be amazing. Let’s hope it happens.

Yankees acquire Juan Soto in trade with Padres
Ortiz is not good enough to be the centerpiece for Cease.

Yankees acquire Juan Soto in trade with Padres
Ok, then move on to a different team. If a sizable piece of a Cease offer from BAL is a veteran OF with two years of control, then that offer isn’t serious and you move onto another club. There is no logic whatsoever for us to take a guy like Santander as integral part of a Cease trade. Meanwhile, the Orioles can continue to win AAA championships while a portion of their prospect base ages out and begin to lose value. And this has nothing to do with Cease, but prospect hugging to this degree is absolutely wild when they have a very questionable rotation, several stars in place, solid players at most other everyday spots, and waves upon waves of positional prospects. I don’t think your read is their actual strategy and I fully expect them to add a high end starter via trade, whether that be Cease or someone like Burnes.

2024 White Sox Top 10 Prospects
Updated. Surprised Nastrini is at #3 and Quero is at #5. Hopefully that means that both Nastrini and Ramos are now in the top 100 mix and not a sign that Quero regressed post trade.

Jerry visits Nashville mayor
It’s very weird that you no longer contribute to this site and simply troll Sox fans about the team relocating. But I guess if this gives you happiness, then keep on trucking bro.

Yankees acquire Juan Soto in trade with Padres
Taking Mullins, Hayes, or Santander as part of a Cease trade is a terrible idea.

Yankees acquire Juan Soto in trade with Padres
No, but I don’t think they can just assume they can coast their way to a division title either without a big SP addition. That rotation is very top heavy and they are one big injury from being in trouble. I think they’d be crazy not to push some chips in and add an impact starter. They have an insane amount of prospect depth and honestly some it is starting to age. Nothing wrong with being cautious, but prospect hugging can also be counterproductive.
