He added a sweeper and greatly improved his changeup via a grip adjustment. Not uncommon for pitchers to suddenly become more valuable after usage & repertoire changes. Whether it happens here remains to be seen, but worth the gamble at the price given our competitive outlook and need for innings.

The reality is very few teams have what it would take to get Robert and even fewer would pony up those chips. As such, it’s far more likely to hold him for a year, see what you have, and then make a call next off-season. Even three years of Robert is going to require a haul that will be challenging to get.
