I’m the same way. I think there is a mistake element signing someone of his stature to a long-term deal, but at this point any useful player that only costs will have me excited for now.

I’m getting a new puppy for the kids today, so the White Sox adding a legit free agent would make it something truly special.

So CHGO Podcast did a trade prediction episode. Here are the three trades they came up: Vinnie: Crochet, Vera, & Ramos/Popeye to TB for Lowe Herb: Hendriks to TOR for Jansen & Biggio Sean: Sheets, Lambert, & Simas to SFG for Yastrzemski Lowe is definitely the guy I’d be targeting and that first trade is probably one I’d make. Not a huge fan of #2 and not sure the third one moves the needle enough for us.

It’s potentially the difference between signing Conforto or Gallo this year.

How anyone can defend Rick Hahn at this point is beyond me.

Peralta is the type of player who comes here and suddenly can’t hit or field. I actually wanted him at last year’s deadline because he’d be so cheap, but I’d be very disappointed if he was our LF solution. That being said, there are worse theoretical options, but I don’t think the Sox would go any lower.
