  1. Didn’t really look like a slow turn to me, I don’t think most 2Bs turn that.
  2. Looks like a ~26% chance if the standings end up as is. Would be massive if they could get lucky in the lottery for once since Rose.
  3. Lucas’s horizontal release point is noticeably different vs last year, coming out what looks like a good 8 inches glove side. His 4 seamer location is also vastly different than last year, with nearly 6% more of his pitches coming in below the zone and nearly 6% less of his pitches coming in his typical sweet-spot above the zone. To me, it feels like his mechanics are a bit out of whack and it’s hurting his command some. The slider has also been a mess this year, but that’s a different story.
  4. It’s all good brother, you had an awesome win streak, but yes typically someone else takes game thread responsibilities after a loss.
  5. Nothing against @South Side Hit Men, but shouldn’t someone else be starting this thread given we lost game 1? Not sure if double-headers have special rules, but I wouldn’t temp the baseball gods after a game 1 that included a shitty Giotilo performance, a Nicky Two K’s game, and an injury to MVPito.
  6. What’s my reasoning? I provided zero context about why I feel the way I do about Tony...?
  7. I love Jose and he’s obviously a huge influence on all the Latin players, but Timmy is the cog that makes the machine and is my MVP full stop.
  8. See this here is straight trolling. The team is winning because its core is so talented it can overcome two major holes in the OF. Even if you’re not a La Russa hater, to suggest he’s the reason we have the best record im baseball is laughable.
  9. I think he’s got a decent shot at being a major league reliever.
  10. It’s halfway through May and the Twins are 10 games back of us. Feels so fucking good!
  11. I get playing the bench guys, but I fundamentally disagree with how much Tony uses them. That being said, the real problem is we need better bench guys if Tony is going to use them as often as he does. Getting Engel back will definitely help in the OF, but I would love to find a versatile left-handed bat that could make Lamb or Leury disappear.
  12. He’s sporting an 11.22 FIP in AAA right now so going to say he’s not ready just yet
  13. This is the type of loss that can destroy an already struggling team’s season
  14. Grandal may be a frustrating player, but damn is his bat valuable for the catcher’s spot
  15. I took White Sox -1.5 with a profit boost. Seems like free money to take that bet against a non-elite lefty or at least will be over time.
  16. If Lambert can get things going, then I think that’s a trade we can make.
  17. I still think Starling Marte would be the perfect rental. Can play both CF & RF and actually has reverse splits and is stronger against RHP. And I can’t imagine the cost would be overly crazy if the Marlins decide to throw in the towel at some point.
  18. I hate being that guy, but was going to call out something similar. With our OF situation, Leury should never be on the bench against a LHP.
