  1. Do we know yet which game Lambert is starting?
  2. Amazing post...Graydawgfan is one of the worst trolls in Soxtalk history. Just embarrassingly bad.
  3. He looks Shields bad?
  4. Eaton isn’t on the DL unless I missed something
  5. Switch hitting is meaningless when you are garbage from one side.
  6. I also love me some Nick Madrigal
  7. Lol...I was dying when I heard that
  8. Thick Dick Nick with the triple!?!
  9. Having a guy with 100th percentile contact rate bunt is the dumbest shit I have seen in my life.
  10. Lamb has been excellent vs. RHP though. The challenge is where he fits defensively, but if they’re willing to use him in the OF corners then I think he has some value.
  11. I was expecting Billy to get another start after yesterday’s performance, but probably would have gone with Mendick in RF & Leury in CF. Not a huge deal either way.
  12. Lineup: Anderson, SS Madrigal, 2B Moncada, 3B# Abreu, 1B Mercedes, DH Vaughn, LF Garcia, RF# Collins, C* Hamilton, CF#
  13. Exactly what has happened...glad your boy gets to see Timmy and the rest of the core guys today
  14. I got money on VeeKay so hopefully we’d both be happy with that outcome
  15. For me, I think Mendick will get the short end of the stick. He’s got the option and Leury can play all the same positions as him. That being said, I’d probably get rid of Leury if it were up to me. He’s just so bad offensively and while Hamilton is a little bit worse, I like his defensive & base-running abilities in late game situations and he seems like a great clubhouse guy. Hard to get rid of Lamb until we add another bat that is strong against RHP and Mendick is simply a better player.
  16. Alright, with an Adam Engel return right around the corner, it seems like one of our positional guys will be on the chopping block. Who do you think ends up getting the axe when he returns and who do you hope is the odd man out?
  17. One day you will appreciate the wonders of the Indy 500 + gambling + alcohol, but until then just enjoy the race! My buddy’s wife is from Indy and they go every year and love being there in person. Who you liking today?
  18. Feels like a day you watch the first two innings and then can peace out with the score 5-0
  19. Same here...I LOVE the Indy 500. Throw some money on a few racers and have a beer every 25 laps or so and you have yourself the makings of an excellent Sunday.
  20. And you know what, it’s good that you call this point out and give credit to Tony for it. But a winning record doesn’t mean shit when you have a team as talented as ours. Tony has done a lot of dumb things this year that deserve ridicule, just like people should acknowledge the good things he’s does as well. I personally think the bad far outweigh the good, but either way our status in the division and his years of experience mean jack shit in the debate and it’s tiring to hear such a pathetic card be used over & over again.
  21. It’s really time for Giolito to get things going. He’s currently sporting a 3.99 FIP on the season and his xwOBA would put him in the 56th percentile, which is obviously down significantly vs. the prior two seasons. He simply isn’t getting as many K’s & whiffs as he normally does. As I’ve mentioned previously, I think Lucas has been battling some minor release point issues that have impacted his command. Perhaps coinciding with that is a huge drop-off in the productivity of his slider. His whiff rate on the pitch is down 17 points and the xSLG is up 100 points. He’s definitely hung a bit too many center cut this year and that’s resulted in some serious hard contact. However, it’s not just meatballs that are the problem. Last year he threw nearly 40% of his sliders in the three quadrants outside the zone that are down & away from the batter, whereas this year he’s only sitting at 20%. That’s a massive difference in location and I think again it ties back to general command issues he’s been battling. The 4 seamer is a similar story with his whiff rate down nearly 10 points vs. prior year. The velocity & movement aren’t vastly different than last year and I think it’s once again a command / location issue. Looking at the heat maps, nearly 26% of Lucas’ 4 seamers were in the three quadrants on the right side (batter’s view) of the plate center & up. This year he’s only at 19% in this area with a lot more pitches coming in on the left half of the plate and nearly 6% more coming in below the zone. I’m assuming he’s just missing his spots, but those aren’t helping his whiff rate and are leading to more, harder hit contact (barrels up substantially vs. PY). Again, I think some of this may be mechanical / release point related and hopefully he can figure that out soon. Despite pitching a little better in recent starts, it doesn’t look like much has changed in that regard since opening day unfortunately.
  22. Shitty lefty on the mound, so hopefully you see most of the normal guys. My guess is the only major exceptions are Collins at catcher and Billy the kid in CF.
