Williams, Garcia, Mendick has got to be the worst 7-8-9 trotted out by any team this season.

Random thought, but I still don’t get why Jake Lamb is on this roster. Like there has to be a better use of a roster spot than him given our current construction.

This team always has stretches where everyone goes cold because have a lot of free swingers. It’s part of the reason we need guys like Vaughn & Madrigal in the lineup and instead of Nick Williams & Leury Garcia.

I knew this post would cost us

Two total appearances prior to tonight...pitching once every 4.5 days. Not Tony’s fault he couldn’t use him the last two days, but he certainly could have used him a lot more in the opening two series. And I literally just said I’m not giving Liam a free pass, but La Russa’s handling of him has been horrendous this year and multiple people can be held accountable when things go south.

Dude, he’s barely used Hendriks all year. He may be fresh but he’s also rusty as fuck given he only pitches every four or five days. I’m not giving Liam a free pass here, but pitchers are a creature of habit and La Russa has to do a better job keeping these guys involved or they’ll get out of rhythm. Can’t just Liam in saves only situations and expect him to be sharp all the time.

I’m all for a hot take, but Liam Hendriks being a good reliever this year should be the least of our concerns. Him & Bummer will be fine. Foster & Marshall warrant much more concern IMO.

Lol...these takes on Hendriks are hilarious. Dude has been arguably the best reliever in baseball the last two years and simply is hitting a cold stretch. Probably doesn’t help that he’s used to being used frequently and now pitches once every four days. Blame La Russa for that.

Honestly, I don’t place much value on having an emergency catcher. Would rather go for the win in the 8th then worry about a 1/1000 chance that our only catcher gets injured and has to be replaced.

Didn’t think of this, but definitely should him there now.
