Bummer, Burdi, & Heuer is a nice foundation to build around and obviously Foster has looked good so far too.

The change and slider are why Fangraphs had Burdi as a 50 FV prospect as a reliever before his injuries.

It’s his 19th start in a pandemic fueled season and despite posting 98th percentile velocity and 93% percentile velocity spin you are completely writing him off. Like I don’t know many times you have to do this before you realize jumping to conclusions on still developing young players is fucking stupid.

To be fair, Cease has been pretty bad this year despite a good ERA coming into tonight.

This is Cease’s 19th career start, why is he already abandoning a potentially plus offspead pitch? Him, Lopez, & Giolito were all known for plus curveballs in the minors and when they finally get to the show with us the pitch just disappears. To me it reeks of some sort of Don Cooper meddling.

Why does it seem like Cease barely uses his curveball anymore? I thought that was his elite breaking ball in the minors.
