Based on absolutely nothing at all, I say the Sox end up drafting Detmers or Howard if the former is not available. Jimmy seems to be implying they will go prep and taking one in the 1st (assuming Detmers is gone) is the next obvious step in a more aggressive approach to the draft that we’ve slowly seen take place over the last handful of years. And while you never draft for need, the system definitely needs more up the middle talent.

I love the idea of potentially transitioning the SS role from Tim Anderson to Ed Howard five years from now. That timing would almost work out perfectly IMO.

It’s utter insanity. I mean, we gave people like $1,200 per eligible person for COVID-19 and that cost us nearly a 1/4 of a trillion dollars. I believe our Federal revenue is somewhere in the $3M to $4M range per year, so basically a 1/16 of that. Now give the ~40M African Americans $1M each and well I can’t do that math. But I think we can just safely assume it would be a bit of a financial problem ?

I passed by a church in Florida earlier today with a fuckton of cars in the parking lot and I couldn’t understand what was going on. I’m not religious but I respect people’s right to believe whatever the fuck they want as long as it’s not harmful to others. Refusing to practice their faith over the internet / safety of their own home is the opposite of loving thy neighbor. The amount of ignorant people and cowardly politicians in this country is truly outstanding.

No idea how anyone would prefer no season when 1) our core will be accruing a year of service time either way and 2) we’ll all be going stir crazy from social distancing / quarantining. Three or four month of White Sox baseball on TV sounds like a gift from the gods right now.

That’s right, I totally forgot about that. I guess we’ll have to see the specifics then, because it seems crazy that someone optioned would automatically get a year of service time. But then again, this is all unprecedented territory so who really knows.
