  1. There’s multiple reasons, but the main one is I think he’s the one guy who can actually change the trajectory of the organization. He’d add a level of excitement & fan interest unlike any other player and I truly believe we could use that right now.
  2. I guess I don’t attribute our coaching staff for his plus framing, seems like we didn’t really know what we had with him.
  3. I have changed my position and would prefer Harper over Machado.
  4. I don’t disagree with anything you say here. I just can’t take Hahn seriously when he talks about coaching up framing when Narvaez was dead last and Castillo got worse in his first year with the Sox. Yes, I think our rotation is a big reason to blame for that, but I have yet to see much evidence of our ability to coach up framing.
  5. But these are all just rumors, coming from a variety of sources. This one in particular is from a no one. I think we should all wait and see how things shake out, because at this point it’s impossible to say what’s real or not.
  6. I guess I don’t get your point here. How is this remotely similar to anything we’ve done in the past?
  7. Whether you agree with this move or not has NOTHING to do with keeping Sale or Quintana. There’s literally no connection other than they’re pitchers. As for Corbin, he’s an ace based on last year’s performance. Whether that’s repeatable I have no idea.
  8. How much time is Adolfo expected to miss next year? Is DHing a possibility while he continues to rehab his arm?
  9. Narvaez was like literally the worst framer in baseball. I’m not sure this organization understands what the term “framing” really means.
  10. So the offseason is less than a week old and we’ve already gotten rumors of us being interested in: Harper + Machado Nelson Cruz Starting Pitchers Relief Pitchers Am I missing any? Seems like this could be a pretty ridiculous offseason.
  11. I tend to agree, although I think they might be willing to trade prospects for a buy-low type (for example Jon Gray).
  12. Why does it matter though if it’s on a short-term contract? Adding Cruz is an easy way to improve the team and doesn’t prevent us from making other splashier additions. I’m all for it if the price is right.
  13. Yeah this really sucks and makes me question what this front office is thinking. Like when did this happen, because it’s not like we’ve seen great results from our young talent since Ricky became manager.
  14. The Sox tried trading for Machado last offseason, they’re most certainly going after him this year.
  15. Well I disagree the Rockies are just giving him away. Narvaez is worth something and the Rockies are desperate for a catcher & have little payroll flexibility. I still believe there could be a match here.
  16. Garfien podcast up with Morosi https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/white-sox/white-sox-talk-podcast-machado-and-harper-jon-morosi-says-white-sox-have-seat-table
