One of the dumber elements of the finale is Dany not immediately killing Tyrion. Makes no sense when she just literally murdered an entire city who did not actually commit treason against her.

I think the ending was bad, but this isn’t like Lost where the ending actually ruins everything. Most of the seasons are still great even if the payoff ultimately lacks.

Which to me is why it’s so dumb. Why would the vast majority of those people choose him to be king? Half of them have no context for who the three eyed raven even is. If he ends up king in the books, I’m sure GRRM will find a much more rational way of setting it up.

Tommen wasn’t really the leader, he was a shield for Cersei, Margaery, & the High Sparrow.

Bran being king is so ridiculous given the complete lack of setup. Just so much wrong with that ending.

I really hope GRRM lives long enough to finish the series, because that was not the ending the book readers deserve.

Exactly. I love the Mad Queen turn and Jon Snow having to be the one to thwart it, but D&D rushed it all. Like Jon killing Dany should have been a big deal but it just didn’t deliver the emotional punch it should of. It@/ pretty clear that D&D had no business directing this final episode.

The writers really failed miserably with that ending. Like Jon killing Dany could of worked but the way it was executed was completely lacking. And then the whole unanimous decision to name the weirdo in the wheelchair king was just plain dumb. Everything just feels rushed and without proper context.

No idea what to expect tonight other than the obvious Targaryen face-off at some point. Will there be an actual battle with Jon leading the North / other kingdoms against Dany or will whatever attempt on her life be more nuanced? Also, while I’m not expecting Tyrion to die, it seems like that should be a logical first move for Dany once she finds out he let Jaime go. Unless he fleas, I wonder how they work around that.

Lyle Mouton was a one dimensional corner outfielder and Yolmer Sanchez is a versatile, strong defensive infielder. Why in the world are you comparing the OPS’s of these two and drawing any relevant conclusions?
