I really think Adley might slip to the Sox.

It’s honestly gotten to the point where I can’t check these box scores anymore. This player development staff should be wiped clean after this year because this season has been an absolute disaster.

I’m almost at the point of giving him a real look and moving Yondor to the bench.

I’m rewatching it right now and Dany basically tells Tyrion she wants to burn the city because a “we don’t negotiate with terrorists” type policy (Cersei is confusing her mercy for weakness). Combine that with her statement to Jon about needing to rule by fear and it does seem premeditated.

Zero chance they don’t add least one veteran starter this offseason and likely (or at least hopefully) with some level of upside unlike Nova.

Well that is fucking huge. Sucks he’s losing so much development, but at least our team control isn’t completely at risk.

I think the key here is she no longer has the best claim to the throne and just watched as one of her trusted advisors tried to undermine over just that. Her only chance to get what she’s always felt she’s destined for (the throne) is now only achievable through fear and in this case outright slaughter. The desire for power at all costs has turned her into the tyrant she always said she’d rid the world of. Again, I think the producers really rushed this and should have built up this turn over more episodes. IMO, it was a mistake to make these last two seasons shortened ones as it’s taken away some much needed character development to help explain all the end-game motivations.

I actually like the arc, but will admit it feels a little rushed. Like there has been plenty of setup over the years of her ruthlessness towards her enemies, but a normal length season with a bit more character development would have made her decision to burn King’s Landing and kill thousands of innocents far more believable. The loss of Jorah, Missandei, two of her dragons plus the realization that her right to the throne is no longer legit created the necessary desperation without the normal checks & balances for her to something crazy (“ok, it will be fear then”). It just felt so sudden because that last part happened across a couple episodes and didn’t give Dany the character build-up such a tragic turn should warrant.

That will definitely be interesting. Is he just a Red Herring or does he somehow play a bigger role than expected. Either way, it does seem Varys’ end-game will be vastly different in the books than the show.

Yeah, my biggest beef with this Mad Queen turn is the show probably didn’t give it enough setup time. There have no doubts been signs of her ruthlessness, but these last few seasons have moved so fast that it’s lost some of it’s effectiveness. I do think the payoff in the books will be better assuming GRRM actually finishes them.

I did read the books and used to visit ASOIF quite a bit. You’re right, it kind of played out like many were expecting. The Mad Queen turn was somewhat expected but I personally was hoping for some sort of twist. This last episode should be interesting at the very least.

Have you checked our minor league box scores this season? Outside of Robert, Collins, & Walker it has been ugly AF on the positional side.

I’ve got disagree fathom. His BB & K rates have improved and while not great his ISO is actually better. The biggest drag to his numbers right now is his BABIP and that should get better by the end of the season (how much remains to be seen). And I’m not suggesting he’s playing well enough to warrant 1-4 selection just yet (he needs to show more power), but he clearly could be playing worse than he is right now.

His BABIP seems very low. I haven’t been able to watch him this year, but it seems like he’s gotten a bit unlucky.

Mixed feelings because I think Witt is the superior prospect but I’d also be glad they didn’t reach on the next best college bat.
