  1. The kid has been back for four games since his concussion, it makes no sense to call him up right now. Let him get his rhythm back in AAA and hopefully call him at some point in June assuming he regains form.
  2. And just end up in a perpetual rebuild? Is that really your plan?
  3. I honestly believe if the Astros or another competent organization got their hands on him he’d quickly turn into an effective #3 type starter.
  4. I think they simply want Collins to get everyday at-bats more or less. Zavala will be on the bench quite a bit during Castillo’s IL stretch.
  5. Wether they ultimately add the right players remains to be seen and I have zero optimism they add the biggest of stars (Rendon / Cole), but I think they will be very active in that next tier of players such as Wheeler, Ozuna, Martinez, Grandal, etc. We literally have minimal payroll obligations over the next few years and the Sox are going to spend big to complement our cheap young core of Moncada, Eloy, Anderson, Giolito, Kopech, Cease, Robert, and potentially a few other guys. Tanking is officially over after this season.
  6. Well sure, we’ll have to add more than just a starting pitcher and they most definitely will. Your plan on tanking for another couple seasons would simply end up with perpetual rebuilding.
  7. Uh, kind of hard to plan for car accidents dude. If you’re going to rip the Sox at least pick one of the many items that is fair game.
  8. We can’t afford to waste another year of our young core. We need to start going for it next year and that means adding a quality starter to anchor a young rotation. Honestly, I’m still kind of upset we botched this offseason because with a couple of impactful veterans we may have had a chance at the second wild card spot.
  9. Wheeler meh, but you like Bumgarner? Wheeler would be my priority next offseason assuming we’re afraid to do what it takes to land Cole.
  10. We’ll definitely need to add a pitcher this coming offseason, but at this point I’d rather wait for Wheeler (or theoretically Cole) to fill that void. With Giolito’s development this season, I think the following rotation could actually be pretty damn good next year: Wheeler Giolito Cease Kopech Lopez The key here is to get Cease up here by mid to late June. Let him get a half season of development in and be better prepared to play an integral role on the 2020 season.
  11. What I’m saying is his K rate of 21% is higher when looked at on an at-bats basis, which I factored in to offset the impact of HRs.
  12. He kind of looks like the kid from rookie of the year in that picture.
  13. My guess is Giolito & McCann make it and Tim wins the 25th man vote.
  14. There is a players’ vote for all the reserves so that may help us.
  15. Lol...Eloy? Now you just straight trolling.
  16. So is Hansen officially a reliever going forward? Doesn’t appear they are really stretching him out.
  17. Which provides me optimism. He was actually pretty good in the second half of his AA stint last year which means he’s capable of making the necessary adjustments to succeed at that level.
  18. I agree on Madrigal. His path to the majors may take longer than expected, but at some point his natural ability will overcome our shit development staff and he’ll be a useful player.
  19. Wasn’t Tilson a Cubs fan growing up? He is from Winnetka...
  20. Stop trying to pat yourself on the back Coop.
