Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
I don't think the Mets are looking to trade a starter but Hendricks would be interesting. I also wonder if they could make a Darvish trade work, since the Cubs seem so eager to cut payroll.

Trade Market for Starting Pitchers...
Probably. It would take one of Madrigal or Robert to get Snell, which is one of the many reasons I don't think he's a target.

not sure how "coveted" archer is...

Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
Now trade for JDM to DH (or on the low end, Shin-Soo Choo?) or sign Encarnacion. That's some good lineup.

wHT+ (same as the above but weighted for park factors)

HT% (Hat tilt percent compared to Fernando Rodney)

So if Ozuna is traveling to the US...is he not maybe going to the winter meetings? Maybe with his agent, to try and find a new team?

ozuna is an above average hitter and average-ish defender (better than castellanos) and also ran a .240 babip and an 11% walk rate last year.

Offseason 2019-2020 MLB Catch All Thread
i get the feeling the sox are going to be "in" on just about every pitcher

I... don't think there's anything to that account? Like, it seems completely made up? Anyways I don't hate Dickerson and think he could be good but i'm not going to be happy if he's the big OF addition.

Padres / rays: Tommy Pham trade
It's odd that Pham has been traded twice already, although in this case because the Rays do Rays things, like trading arb guys when they start to get expensive.

Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
I hope we sign this guy, so I can sing his name like Phil Collins. Tsut-Tsut-Tsut-sugoooo

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
I don't think anyone in MLB is projected with a 650 SLG. That is an insane number. If you want to say 330/500, that seems reasonable, and decent for a guy who can't field.
-
Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
These mid-range guys don't tend to work out in the MLB, so the contract wouldn't be nuts. Probably like 3/12 or something, small but not inconsequential, but of course, there's the posting fee.

Cole to the Yankees: 9 years, $324 million.
Probably will be accurate some time in January.

Sox in on MadBum
I don't really like either, honestly. With Bum, he's a solid 3-4 starter who is going to get paid like a TOR guy. Ryu is really good when he's healthy, which has been two years out of the six he's been in the MLB. So, you're either paying for past production, or a lottery ticket.
-
Sox in on MadBum
There's going to be a wide gulf between what Bum gets and what Ryu gets, and another gap, likely, between Ryu's and Keuchel's likely payday. Neither of the latter are touching 100MM, for good reasons. The Sox can't punt on the 2020 rotation, it's too large a need.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
It's been a few years since the Sox had a red-assed idiot on their pitching staff, why the hell not
-
Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
I think they'll be involved but only up to a point. If the Yankees and Angels are involved, the money is going to get nuts pretty quick.
-
Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
I dunno, Marco Gonzalez? He's more of a mid-rotation guy but he's got pretty similar peripherals to Bumgarner and is much younger. There isn't much to the trade market, tbh.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
Saving this for when we sign Keuchel and trade for Bundy and call it a day.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
Actually I'm heartened they had the highest offer. Maybe it's not so crazy that they look at Strasburg, at least.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
I'm guessing it comes out that we had a similar offer and Wheeler just preferred the Phillies. Sucks, man.

Joc Pederson - Is it goin down?
The main things that sell me on Joc over Calhoun: 1. Lots more power 2. Much younger
