This is true, to extent that his "hard hit" % last year exceeded Moncada's. For all that growth, his wRC+ was...94. Below league average. It wasn't some BABIP fluke either, he just isn't good. He's swinging more and making less contact, which is worrying to say the least.

He stinks and there aren't any underlying numbers that indicate he will get better. It's pretty clear that the team has changed directions after spending the last two years saying some shlock about "2020 vision" or whatever. Now the window starts in 2021. I guess the whole thing hinged on Wheeler signing.
