  1. I think for Rios, a second tier prospect like Kingham or Bell, plus a couple AAA pseudo prospects should be fine. Like, Kingham, Pimentel and Lambo for Rios and some cash. I mean who knows its all conjecture but theres about a half dozen names in play for prospects and definitely some names to get stoked about.
  2. Huh, with Wilkins and McDade, not sure why they need more 1B / DH types.
  3. 99% of baseball players are complementary. Those guys do win championships. I think we are all familiar with how difficult it can be to find competent players at premium positions (IE White Sox CF from 2006-2009).
  4. QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 10:07 PM) When do you guys think the first move is? Post ASB. Probably a reliever.
  5. 150 PA combined with new approach is enough to be cautiously optimistic.
  6. Chev broke his 0-fer streak too, having a nice game so far.
  7. The price is probably high right now because there is still 3 weeks to the trade deadline and, unlike the Marlins, we're not just looking for salary dumps. As the deadline gets closer, the price will get more reasonable and some team will have a more pressing need and a trade will get done.
  8. Yeah ok maybe i'd take Trout. But LA will never trade him and no one else is even close to the value of Sale's contract so its a moot point.
  9. That is an unrealistic-good return for Alexei and Rios, both of whom are expensive and on the wrong side of 30.
  10. Rosenthal is underestimating just how good that contract of Sale's is. Like, if it weren't Evan Longoria, we're talking best in baseball good. The only real caveat is his health, and so far he's actually pitching better, with more velocity than last year. There is no player, or group of players, that we could get for Sale that would be worth his contract. I wouldn't even take Trout - He has 1.5 cheap seasons left and then he is going to get the biggest arb raise ever, if he isn't signed to a 8-figure a year extension first.
  11. Not to be a wet blanket but based on what i've read Micah Johnson won't stick at 2nd.
  12. Gonna guess Trayce got a day off for throwing his bat violently to the ground. Second guess - corresponding move is Tekotte up after tonights AAA game.

Snodgress AND Olacio with nonos through 5.
  14. Holy crap that would COMPLETELY be the wrong move. Maybe a starter is getting moved? Man I dunno, reallllly hoping he isn't hurt.
  15. There was some chatter about the Mets, although this is definitely a sunk season for them. The market for Alexei is weak and I wouldn't expect him to get moved, but the deadline works in mysterious ways.
  16. Second HBP in as many days for CHawk. Hope it hit the meaty parts. Through 2IP, Johnson with 4K 0BB. Aw yiss

The Reds were still pretty bad after they let Dunn walk. So were the Nats. They used the money they saved not signing Dunn to get other needed pieces and they developed the talent they got from sucking for so long. Dunn is just a guy. No one player is going to sink and entire team just by being a mope.
  18. What on earth would make you think this site is "better" than that? There are no ridiculous trade proposals that fan sites can't conjecture. I mean I think they may be able to get Skaggs... if they pay every last cent of Rios's contract, and he is the only piece coming back. That's not happening, and neither is Eaton. So lets move on.
  19. Great, just what we need, some home-schooled weirdo. Seriously though, is power really what we need in our system? I know its bleacherreport and all but they could have just said "The White Sox need everything and lots of it" and picked anyone.
  20. C Flowers 1B Corey Hart / Wilkins 2B Beckham SS Yuni B!!!!! 3B Gillaspie / Morel RF Hart / Danks CF De Aza LF Viciedo DH Phegley!! IF Andy Wilkins, Morel, Tyler Greene? OF Danks C - Phegley? I guess. And some other guy. P - Sale / Danks / Johnson / Quintana / Axelrod? or FA RP - Jones, Reed, Webb, Santiago, Castro, Leesman wooo :|
  21. Trayce Thompson def on the up. Phegley on the down but still with a 700+ OPS in limited June ABs.
  22. Hey wow am I sick of hearing about this. I will agree that AJ is better than Flowers as long as we never have this thread again and you guys (the vocal AJ jerks) confess that AJ would not put this team anywhere near contention.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 06:49 PM) Anyone know anything on Rangel Ravelo? He seems to be doing nicely in WS. Courtney Hawkins needs to be sent to Kannapolis, striking out multiple times a game is doing nothing for his confidence. Former 3B pseudo prospect, current 1B pseudo prospect. He has good K/BB and contact numbers but not enough power to play at 1st. Still time, only 21.
  24. This may have even been posted on this forum but http://www.forvo.com/word/dariusz_michalczewski/ Mi-kal-chev-ski
  25. Based on the pronunciation of his name I heard, i've been calling him "chev"
