  1. I imagine they pick it up and try to trade him.
  2. Olacio is 18 and left handed and he held his own for a while in Kanny. His main problem is control but again, he is 18. Leyer has better control but gave up too many hits. He is still young. I haven't heard much about his "stuff" though.
  3. Though I think Rienzo and Buch and a few others are future relievers.
  4. Sorry, I misread. Take off Marinez, bump up Leyer and put Brennan at 10.
  5. 1. Snodgress 2. Johnson 3. Molina 4. Leesman 5. Beck 6. Castro 7. Rienzo 8. Jefferson Olacio 9. Jhan Marinez 10. Euclides Leyer, I guess. Maybe one of the higher level guys like Santos Rodriguez. This is a pretty dire crop all around but guys like Snodgress and Johnson could be on some 'sleeper' lists heading in to 2013. Leesman and Marinez should contribute next year, and Rienzo may also see some time.
  6. I'm a stat lover and I think its time to part ways with AJ. After his big season I doubt he will take any kind of discount to stay with the Sox and based on past results he likely won't be anywhere near as good over the course of the next 2-3 seasons. I think most of the reasons to keep him are emotional rather than statistical.
  7. Think Philly will give us Dom Brown for Rios straight up? That seems like an Amaro move.
  8. They'll pick up Gavin's option and get some unexciting RHP option, this team always pulls pitching out of its behind. They reaaaally need a 3B and a catcher, assuming AJ leaves for greener (richer) pastures.
  9. You could just as easily say this just wasn't our year, with the rookie-heavy bullpen, a rotation of non-horses and key injuries to Danks, Dunn and (possibly) PK.
  10. I'm not sure how, even though the roster has changed substantially, this team still flinches in September. What could even cause this? Is it something that can even be fixed by personnel changes?
  11. Shields wants that 10th loss sooo bad but with the Sox, nothing is easy
  12. Much as nature abhors a vacuum, Peavy cannot abide a tie game.
  13. Bring back Gavin. The rest, walk. Gavin should easily be worth 9.5 mil next year. Hell, by FanGraphs measurement he's almost been worth it in this year, easily the worst full season of his career.
  14. I'm not going to argue with a guy who thinks RBI's are an important stat. If you can't see that Alexei's bat is busted then I don't know man. Maybe he will bounce back but he stunk this year.
  15. He's been very lucky with men in scoring position, which has of course dried up lately (like everyone else on the team) and nobody's defense is good enough to make up for a .266/.289/.369 right on cue, Peavy. Can't wait til you're gone, chump.
  16. I would not call Alexei's season mediocre. Disastrous might be more appropriate.
  17. They're more die lately. They had their most vital series of the year this week and lost 2 of 3.
  18. since a runner is in scoring position I am sure this will be a fly out.
  19. QUOTE (Real @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 06:02 PM) it'd be nice if the Sox could go on a winning streak and be able to put detroit out of the hunt with about 4 games left, we could rest our starters and set up the rotation against presumably baltimore ugh i hope we dont play baltimore in the first round, that would be awful Barring a huge Texas-sized collapse by the Rangers, they should draw the WC winner. I don't see the O's winning the division, but of course, getting the Yankees is like going from the frying pan to the fire.
  20. Final line .323/.378/.403 with 91K and 41BB in 523 PA, including time at AA and AAA. Not bad, buddy. Mr. Sanchez will likely move into a lot of people's top ten prospects list, as well he should after posting such a performance at age 19/20. We will continue to track Yolmer's progress as he takes on the AFL in Oct.
  21. Hey now that the Angels have done their job and swept the Tigers can they just go into a death spiral already? Man I hate that team.
  22. God they finally GET MENDOZAAAAAAAA and then the pitching sharts the bed in tandem
  23. Yeah, this team is dead in the water. 5 games left against KC after they lose today.
