  1. Despite never going the distance i'm always in awe of what the Rays have done since 08. I put the Pirates for option two but i'd have voted for the BJs if they were in that group.
  2. From a team perspective its pretty important, yes. When trying to predict a pitcher's performance going forward it is much less important. Guys who routinely allow a lot of baserunners and keep low ERA are pretty rare. It's too bad he hasn't gotten a lot of run support but I don't feel particularly bad for him because he hasn't been particularly good over that stretch, just lucky, and since the injury he has been downright bad. Point is twofold - 1. Feel bad for PV not Floyd 2. DL Floyd.
  3. Actually, looking at the numbers for his last starts in June, its possible its ENTIRELY injury driven. Maybe he needs more time on the DL.
  4. 25.2 25 9 7 2 18 8 51 37 431 115 -- 2-2 0 sv 2.45 Floyds numbers for July. Thats 18 walks, 8 K's and 25 hits in 25 innings. He's been awful, and gotten away with it. Now some of this is probably the tendonitis. Still not encouraging.
  5. His WHIP might be higher than his ERA over that span. Make no mistake - he has been awful. Weird season for him.
  6. Thompson always has 3 or 4 crazy hot streaks that sort of offset the general awfulness of the rest of his season. I'm sure this will be no different. He's still young at least.
  7. Probably not enough of an upgrade over Danks to be worth it. Team needs infield depth more.
  8. Yeah dude has been scared all year. He's shook.
  9. 35-27, which is doable. Winning 90 games should get a playoff spot at least.
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) Really doubt it, he's struggled a lot this year. Take a look at his home/road splits. He has almost a 900 OPS away from Regions. Something about that park.. Anyways they don't need him to be great, just to start 4 or 5 games and pinch run.
  11. I dunno i'm suddenly terrified by the A's The prospect of 9 more games against the Angels is dicey as well.
  12. Alternately, this might make Cliff Lee available. I mean, Amaro has to realize that he can't keep paying guys, right?
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 03:54 PM) Magic Number: 71 Too soon? Lets wait a month and a half or so before we get into to much magic number stuff.
  14. A guy like Kevin Millwood would allow the Sox to keep their top prospects and still get a guy who is going to be better than Axelrod going forward. Might be the best way to improve the rotation without opening a hole elsewhere. That's assuming Danks is done, of course.
  15. If you are: A. A left handed MLB pitcher B. Capable of throwing strikes You have about a 50/50 shot at shutting out the White Sox.
  16. The Dash are going against Dylan Bundy so don't expect to much from that game. That kid are sick.
  17. Veal or Heath should, they have been putting up some very nice numbers this season.
  18. make that 5%. DV looking overmatched by any offspeed pitch
  19. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 08:03 PM) what percentage would you put on that? Personally, about 15%
  20. Q: How do you totally shut down the White Sox offense? A: Put in any lefty.
  21. Welp, not scoring any runs tonight unless someone hits one out.
  22. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:56 PM) This is a good trade for the sox I see what you did there.
  23. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:55 PM) He likes to power that fastball right now the middle of the plate Devastating 91mph fastball with not much movement.
