  1. Oh yes we do. Everyone knew what he meant by $18M. He meant a whole bunch of money and his point stands- it's sad.
  2. I think everybody is over thinking this. Stanton, Eaton & Garcia will be just fine.
  3. Shhhh don't tell the interns that man.
  4. I would love to see abreu, gillaspie, Garcia, Dunn. Moving forward I think Connor would really benefit from batting in front of Abreu, especially against LHP. But the brass doesn't seem to like the looks of Eaton, Connor, Abreu.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 18, 2014 -> 12:31 PM) If you can bring him back for around $5 million, I have no problem with his as a left handed outfield bat. It'd be nice if he played a better CF or was more comfortable out there, but if they can't get anything, there's no harm in keeping him. It's hard to do worse in that LH bat, 4th OFer role. I agree, especially if we don't have a full time DH
  6. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Aug 18, 2014 -> 12:10 PM) Not a top 25 White Sox prospect according to mlb.com I know. Nothing worse than a guy who hits for average, controls the zone and is developing power.
  7. We might ALMOST have that in Jared Mitchell.
  8. Dude I've done this a million times and it's always the most fun when you leave around midnight and get there in the afternoon. Especially where you are heading, there is literally nothing to look at before sunrise.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 10:45 AM) He'd leave something like $100 million on the table. That makes the answer, no. I hate that you can't entice guys with more upfront cash with less of a commitment. But yea, $100 million. You're gonna be right.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 05:42 PM) I have no idea how the comparison can be Maddux or Axelrod. That's a very wide spectrum. Yea ya do Q. Substitute soft-throwing crafty guy changing speeds.
  11. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 04:59 PM) I would say that the Sox winning or losing has a lot more to do with whether they have Sale/Quintana or someone else pitching, but then they did just take 2 of 3 from Toronto with 3 someone elses pitching. Yea and also if that bullpen gets phone calls.
  12. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 01:50 PM) I do. I bet he develops more power too. He sure improved his game last offseason. Can't wait to see what he works on this winter.
  13. Anybody else think we are likely looking at our third baseman for the next 5 years or so?
  14. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Aug 17, 2014 -> 12:19 PM) More Dunn, more Gordo, yay. Unless I'm pleasantly surprised with a trade that yields something worthwhile, I have to side with the Clown on how RH is handling the situation. Holding out for that surprise, because, overall, I really think Hahn is terrific, but feel he's been left a little "mouth agape" by the trade deadline deals not working out. Fearing that he stubbornly is holding out to the long-term detriment of the club. I guess we'll know in 14 days or less. Yea and maybe his hands are tied from upstairs and cutting guys just simply isn't an option in some cases. Didn't we eat Kepps salary?

  16. Think Scherzer would like 4/100 from us...3/90? And then do you think Chris Sale would like it if we did that?
  17. I mean if he dominates these AAA batters...s***ttt mang
  18. QUOTE (hi8is @ Aug 16, 2014 -> 05:31 PM) Rumor has it, according to a confirmed Twitter source... is that Rodon has met with the Queen of England today. He is to be Knighted on Tuesday. Rumor also has it that his dick is already in Charlotte looking for places to live while he continues to pack up his gear in Winston-Salem.
  19. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 16, 2014 -> 02:40 PM) SS Eduardo Escobar 3B Brent Morel 1B Jose Abreu 2B Tyler Saladino DH Chris Carter CF Chris Young RF Ryan Sweeney LF Aaron Cunningham C Jose Phegley Bench - Tony Graffanino and Josh Paul SP - Gio, Sale, Hudson, Egbert and Clayton Richard Bullpen - Poreda, Cotts, Politte, Adam Russell, Bobby Jenks, Sergio Santos and Mike Jackson Where do we finish Caulfield? I'd say Jack Egbert closes the door.
  20. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Aug 15, 2014 -> 12:31 PM) If they are willing to call him at the end of this year, then I assume that means they are going to want him on the opening day roster next year. If that is the case, his pitching in September really does not cost the Sox any service time. That's what I thought too, but now people are saying we burn a whole year of service time just for a September call up. I'm confused. I know we all don't want to rush him but he might be THAT good already. If he's a lock for the 2015 team then call him up!
  21. QUOTE (The Wiz @ Aug 15, 2014 -> 01:24 AM) The logical decision would be to DFA Dunn to open up room for Garcia to DH and just focus on hitting for the final month and week of the season. Let De Aza and Viciedo play for the final month to see if they can get hot and build some trade value/a reason to hang on to them for next year. I like this
  22. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Aug 14, 2014 -> 10:15 AM) This. No reason whatsoever to have him in the bigs this season. I see your point but if he tears up another outing or two, might be nice to show off the shiny toy.
  23. Even I agree Dunn is finally moveable. Did he clear waivers?
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 14, 2014 -> 03:24 PM) Good post. I guess the question is ... when do you decide you have a "good" team and thus want to pay for some good relievers? There's also no guarantee paying a guy means he's good (Thornton in his later years). I hope one of these years the no name bullpen clicks and is reliable. It's insane to blow all these leads. Greg I agree with you more than most usually, but Reed was losing ticks on his fastball from the moment he came up. He was 97 solid for a while and we never saw that again. Plus he worked really hard for saves usually so c'mon you have to agree you always felt nervous for Reed, but Jenks you knew was the man when he came out there. Reed was good but about to get expensive. And if he lost more ticks or had a down year he would be expensive AND untradeable. Maybe Davidson was the wrong target but the FO saw something there. They planned on using Reed to net a position player and this is who they chose. They sold as high on him as they thought they could, with Webb n Jones looking like they could carry the load. But dude the Peavy trade is looking like an absolute pillage for the Sox, so I think you should come over to our side of the fence and give Hahn a pass here. His logic was sound
  25. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 12, 2014 -> 10:47 PM) DAmnit Dunn, I can't post my research after you K like that. Better pack that one away man, he already made his contribution to the series.
