What’s boring AF is the constant nagging of the FO and manager. It’s horrible. Giolito is cooking with gas and the nervous fan group is quick to point out how Cooper had nothing to do with it AT ALL. And our FO has nothing AT ALL to do with identifying Giolito in the first place. No credit given. Rodon has freak TJ injury and now we have to hire medical and physical therapy consultants to audit our training staff and team medical personnel. Despite all the attrition that was obviously planned for, the rebuild is holding its mud quite well. But that’s just luck, not good front-officing.

And in the middle of that is calm, rational thinking.

Ah but you’re now doing a similar thing my friend. You’re using his extreme example as license to lump all theories that support bunting as dumps placed in pretty little boxes marked guaranteed. The only example that needs to be given is one run game, later innings.

If Coop wasn’t helping guys, wasn’t an asset or was hurting guys...he would not be on the team. This hatred for Coop or thinking he’s a dinosaur, or saying the game has passed him by is not based in fact. It’s conjecture. Overall body of work is solid- Gio and Lopez are progressing and the young bullpen guys are being tested in the fire It’s okay to give the front office credit for the pitching side of things. I haven’t been a fan of the other 29 teams, so it’s hard to compare, but the Sox seem to be really good at identifying pitching. The north side is horrendous at it and that’s about all I know. I think we all need to chill, and if you look at the macro instead of the micro, you’ll see KW, RH, DC and yes, even JR, are building an absolute monster.

I think we just have better players this year. But they are still raw so the games are going to be peaks and valleys of individual performances. I don’t think we’ll see any kind of steady from many of the players this year- just too young and raw. Ricky has an impossible job of managing that and trying to turn that randomness into wins. Micromanaging Ricky’s every decision is a fool’s errand IMO. As a whole, the guys look to be developing nicely. The arrow is pointing up generally.

This guy is a major leaguer. Think we all need to chill out and let the Sox do whatever they think is best to get him back on track and to the show. We need to remember that a lot of really smart people with a lot of experience and a lot of really complicated data are all working together to turn Hansen into a consistent beast. Us jabrones have no fucking clue, whatsoever.

I don’t think other teams have good pitchers in AAA either. Most teams struggle to fill out the 4 & 5 slots on the MLB roster, let alone stash quality depth in the minors. Most teams also don’t have ace-potential guys like Cease & Kopech ready to step into the rotation either. We’re sitting pretty.
